Invisible Weapons and Robes/armor
BrujahWarrior replied to KawaiixDesu's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
You've got something that is messing up your body models. Either corrupted/missing files, or a mod that is screwing them up. The floating head is a problem that happens when you try to put an artical of clothing/armor on a race body that it wasn't made for. The missing weapons is because the body contains the animations for it. With those being incorrect, the game doesn't know where to put the item. I'd check for mods that alter the body, or race. Mods that try to improve textures might also be a problem. Good luck! ;..; -
K, first off... VRAM is NOT virtual RAM. VRAM is Video RAM. Which is something entirely different than virtual memory. ;) Second, the page file is the file which windows uses to keep track of virtual memory. By disabling the pagefile all you are doing is making it so that windows cannot automatically set the virt mem, and it can only be set manually. You havent disabled virt mem. Which, in itself is NOT advisable, due to to the fact that some programs write to virt mem and use it, along with your system RAM in order to run more efficiently. (this before 64 byte systems were introduced). Due to the fact that the description is on a texture mod, I am going to assume that they are indeed referring to VIDEO ram, which means that it will take more of a toll on your video graphics.

Anyone Can Marry Alistair Mod
BrujahWarrior replied to Salona's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
ms .net is a programming language used as the foundation for a lot of software. And needs to be on your computer, in order for software which was written using it, to work. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9cfb2d51-5ff4-4491-b0e5-b386f32c0992&displaylang=en thats where you can DL it. Also, no they dont 'Need" to be in a separate folder of their own, but it helps to keep it all organized, if you need to uninstall them. ;..; -
Second opportunity to "harden" companions
BrujahWarrior replied to Dagarin's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
K, I'll try to explain this. Sorry if I dont do a very good job of it, lol. Hardening is... like toughening up their personality. Makes them a stronger inner person and able to better handle some of the crap that the journey entails. In game terms, it means that they don't disapprove as much of some of the things that you do. In alistairs case, it means that he can cope with more of his inner demons and go ahead and marry anora after loghain joins the team. In Morrigan's case it's more like she has more trust in your choices, cause she b!tches a Lot less. Ah dammit I am gonna KILL my roommate if he doesnt stay off my computer! (This Is DW) -
Game crashing during play
BrujahWarrior replied to roninsoul7's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
Interesting. But it kinda makes sense, after you've mentioned it. Windoze 7 has issues with some programs cooperating with vid cards in some of the recent releases of 3d artwork and CAD programs as well. ;..; -
Switching faces for morrigan to leliana
BrujahWarrior replied to KalterKrieg's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
there is also a mod that has morrigan robes that are wearable by any female character. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=441 If you dont like the stats on it, then you can alter it in-game using the Winter Forge. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=122 A note about using other modder's morphs and switching them. Sometimes you do have to open them in the toolset. Because they sometimes have the character's name IN the morph file itself, not just the filename. In which case, it would show up as the morph on both characters. Morrigan and leliana. If that happens, just open up the toolset, drag and drop the morph file in. Then where it says hf_genfl_morrigan or hf_genfl_Leliana, change it to the character that you're wanting it for. ;..; -
are you talking about changing the morphs that your already made character use? If so, this should help you out. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=449 If not, then please restate what you're trying to do. No comprende. ;..;

What you need it so have Dual Wield at Dual Wield Mastery level. Once you get that skill, you can Flourentine swords and axes to your heart's content. ;..;

I think so too. There are only one or two mods that add katanas and wakizashi to the game of DAO right now. And I know that one of them is a crapshoot as to whether or not you can get the new weapons to be viewable in game. It uses meshes that are commonly used by other mods, and causes conflicts. My roomate has been talking to a guy about this exact same thing. While I promise NOTHING, we may see it once the guy finishes up a project for weapons that he's working on right now.

Alistair - A couple of things with him
BrujahWarrior replied to Delennsidehe's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
that file has been offline for quite at least a month now. No idea why. It was a good mod. here's an alternative that I found. that will hopefully work for you, as you're just wanting Al. Tho that one doesnt affect Anora like Queen did. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=781 -

Some Mods just won't work.
BrujahWarrior replied to rez194's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
No problem at all. glad to hear that you got it fixed. And thanks for my first kudos! :wub: :thumbsup: I appreciate that :smile: I know that the description for that program tells you this, but I'll go ahead and mention it. That program won't add in a chargen mod that doesnt already have a chargenmorph file. So if the author didnt include it, you'll have to make one from scratch, or add the new parts in manually. :confused: Enjoy, and have fun. ;..; Bru -

How do you view a .mor file?
BrujahWarrior replied to ariinya's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
If you open up the tree further, where it reads 0 1 2 3 4 5, etc, you can change those values too. But its a guessing game, since its all numerals, and you cant see the effect that you're having on the morph. OP- What are you trying to do with the mor? -
Some Mods just won't work.
BrujahWarrior replied to rez194's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
most propable reasons that its telling you its not a mod is because it's not a .dazip or.zip, but rather a .rar or .7z. Or has such a folder inside of them. None of the current mod installation programs will recognize those folder formats, thus they have to be extracted from them first. a cheat for this is to use whatever program (I prefer 7zip because it handles all the formats) to extract the contents into a new folder. then once extracted, I just right click the new folder, then add it to a new .zip. then DragNdrop the new zip into damodder. if its a file that changes just morrigan's face morph, all you should have to do is put the hf_genfl_morrigan.mor file in the documents/bioware/dragon age/ packages/core/override folder. hair, eye, makeup, face tints, tattoos, etc are all called chargen mods. these mods use a list called chargenmorphcfg.xml to tell the character creator what's available to use. The problem is, is that the game is dumb. It will only read ONE of the chargenmorph files. So wehn you add more of these mods to the game, you have to update the chargenmorphcfg.xml file to include these new bodyparts. Or else they won't show up in the chargen screen. do a search for hair, or eyes, we answer this one a lot, so you'll find the answer, and how to. Seyheb- I want to go ahead and mention this. The override folder will only look 3 directories down, after that it ignores any folders that are further down the list. Override/modnamefolder/folder1/folder2/folder3/folder4/folder5. Once it gets to folder 3, it stops looking. so anything that is in folder 4 or 5 will be ignored :wink: -
Can I get them both?

Not a problem. Just make sure to endorse the file, and give the author kudos for sharing it :wink: ;..; -
Mods not working
BrujahWarrior replied to ariinya's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
Anything that is in the documents\bioware\dragon age\packages\core\ override folder is safe to delete, if you've removed the mods. same with \Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\AddIns But know that anything in AddIns that starts with dao_promo is DLC that you've paid for so unless you really wanna have to download those again, I'd leave those alone. As well as a folder that reads DEMO. Not that its really necessary, but to add it back in again requires either finding it on your disk, or reinstalling the game. Also dao_prc something something is AWAKENING, so don't delete that one either, if you've got that game. use damodder to install from now on. It can remove them with three clicks. http://dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=286 I dont think that PAR ever addressed Rally. Theres a couple that do. http://dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=903 http://dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5 read carefully, especially the user comments. they may or may not be compatible with other mods you're using. Summoned creatures dont survive thru an area transition. Thats how it works, you have to resummon them. http://dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=418 can make them so they don't. Manifest is tied to each mod's files. Dont merge, don't delete unless you're getting rid of the mod. ;..; -
The color and stats you can change in game with the winter forge. http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=193790 links and tips are there. sorry not looking up that again :tongue: the skin that it uses tho would need to be made and added to the game. ;..;

BrujahWarrior replied to blkcasanova247's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
I could picture the one you're talking about in my mind, but really had to look to find it. I think that this might be the one your looking for. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=765 looking at the downloads list, you're gonna hve to scroll way down to where it says Loghain w blue eyes. Thats the file for the loghain morph. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/download.php?id=3819 ;..;
