  1. Put simply, yes. Some mods don't require some DLC, but yes, you need at least Vanilla Skyrim. And you also need SKSE for at least 87% of all mods, and SkyUI for about 85% of all mods, with some overlap between it and SKSE. And some mods quite obviously require DLC. Example, Vampire Lord retextures. You wouldn't think of installing that without Dawnguard, would you? Retextures of Hermaues Mora's Black Books. Obviously need Dragonborn. Anything to do with adoptions. Need Hearthfire.
  2. My logic on the crude look: The Orsimer are known for being, basically, a corrupted race of elves from when their god ancestor was eaten and corrupted into the "Daedric Prince" Malacath we know of today (Daedric Prince here is in quotations because he isn't, as I understand it, regarded as a prince by the other princes, but whatever.) Their god was corrupted, and so to were they. It makes sense that also their works would be likewise corrupted, made harsh looking. They don't care for looking good. They care for strength, and toughness. Therefore, physical appearance is low priority, if not outright ignored, where crafting weapons is concerned. That being said, I see a mild resemblance in their armor style to that of the Samurai of early japan. Leastways, it seems slightly Japanese to me. The weapons, not so much. The edge of their sword looks like it's already been hacking at some heavily armored trolls before being put in the shop. I'm not expecting good looking weapons from them, but I can see what you mean by practical. The armor is good, the weapons need work.
  3. What it would take in 3 easy steps Step 1: Get really freakin' rich Step 2: Buy Bethesda Step 3: Pull all your games (After all, they're YOUR games now) from Steam However, keep in mind that there will be a step 4 Step 4: Go bankrupt as you lose too much money to recover
  4. The Dragonborn doesn't always have friends, but when he does, they prefer to remain anonymous. But here's why I am hopping on the Talos bandwagon Whiterun Guard about to go with you to the Wester Watchtower to kill the first dragon. "I'm glad you are coming with us. They say Talos favors you." Lets take a look at your feats so far: Survived Helgen (But then, Hadvar/Ralof, Ulfric, Tullius, and according to Legate Rikke, Not Many, which indicates the possibility of other survivors, so that's not a sign of Talos' favor. Why would he support both sides in a war?) ran from Riverwood to Whiterun, when that Courier has to go all over Skyrim AND Solsthein, so I'm not impressed at the Dragonborn's running ability. Fetched Home Plate from Bleak Falls Barrow. Any competent sellsword could have done this. So I propose that Talos IS favoring him, and it shows, to where guards with PTSD about their knees can see it. And how do we see it?
  5. I'll keep it simple, because I don't know if I make any sense. I'm weird like that. A power, unlimited uses, as opposed to one use per day Upon use, Dovahkiin is forced into 3rd person perspective, and does the Skyrim Shuffle, standing in place. He doesn't do anything else. Upon completion of the dance, the player regains control and business as usual continues. Beats teabagging Dragon carcasses anyday. Here's a tissue.
  6. SHINY! I like this idea. but then, it'd probably only be the vanilla weapons....
  7. Have you tried the TES5Edit thing it mentions? I have no clue about modding, so I'm not that helpful, but this is a question that I thought I'd ask. EDIT: Also, have you tried deleting the mods? I don't reccomend doing it without checking with a pro about it first, but yeah.
