  1. With out Bethesda Enderal would not be here so I don't understand that statement? Skyrim was never meant to be a focused game it is open world where you decide what you want to be. I hear so much complaining about Skyrim but never seen any of the complainers make games do you have published games? Do you have a fan base in the millions and or sold Millions of games? Do you have entire boards dedicated to your work the nexus alone has over 40,000 mods for it? If so please leave us a link to your games.
  2. Well its just a game I guess is what it boils down to. Also the life span for most in early civilization was 25-35.. life was hard growing old did not happen for most war, crime, diseases, ect.. nobody took care of you like modern day if you did not provide for yourself you did not eat aka live. However, at the end of the day it is just a game and nobody liked to see the potato characters that vanilla skyrim offered.
  3. If your first time ever playing no computer this guy videos are your best friend his work is tried and true check out all his guides will save you a lot of issues
  4. Skyrim has become more than anyone could have envisioned when it was released due to modders and I believe that to be a fact. 5 years later the game is still as popular as it ever was many are just now discovering it. Even with its glitches and quirks it still is my favorite game due to all the mods available your game can be what ever you wish. Enjoy your gaming :)
  5. I think it is Delphine she never likes you at any point in the game nor does she want to lose the "leader" role she so covets. She is arrogant against the Dragonborn at every turn.. never really wanting to work with you it is her way or no way. She has manipulated people to do her bidding and even states she been doing this a long time when you chose any options other than her choice. though my different play-throughs I found assassins early on long before having any dealings with really anybody never been to the Rift nor been to any Meadery so I rule out Maven. Have not chose any side in the war never dealt with the companions. In fact my current play through I have only been to 3 holds Whiterun, Iverstead, and Falkreath level 10 and met an assassin. I rule out Alduin as he never really viewed you as a threat hence, not attacking you at Kynesgrove even if you attack him there he wont attack you as it was not the Dragonborn who sent him "away" no spoiler. The only person who has so much to loose that early in the game is none other than Delphine.
  6. So the big question when you started a new game was it modded? a new game start should only include character mods. Your load order is kinda chaotic lots of patches not a fan of patches they can and often do cause issues. Now for mods depends on what you want to many overhauls causes issues... to many textures causes issues. As far as a number of mods to run there is no real ideal amount depends on your rig and also how heavy the mod is scripts ect.. my current play-through I am running 205 mods and have no issues. Plan your game is the best advice I give ...mod with care and pay close attention to what your trying to achieve and beware of conflicts and overwrites.
  7. Ok I have your answer I had a copy of Mcafee it came with a computer I bought I installed it and found that it would not let me download mods. However, it is not the fault of the program or NMM let me explain when you installed Skyrim it became part of your computers programming so any changes to it cause Mcafee to stop it.... you have to change that and allow the nexus to make changes to your computer ie mods come from the nexus and it really is that simple. side note I did uninstall Mcafee not that it is a bad program I just use a different software. So long story short you have to change Mcafee and what you allow to happen on your computer it is not the fault of the Nexus.
  8. I run .56 mod manager and have no desire to update however, I want to download the new one for fallout four is it possible to use both without messing up my current .56 NMM? I only plan on using .56 for Skyrim but now there is enough mods to spark my interest in fallout4 now so any help would be great.
  9. I played on a console for a long time so i understand why people use them first is ease of use. Second they are cheap compared to a gaming computer. I don't fault the user I however think that someones work is there work and should on be on sites they allow only. That being said once it gets released it is fair game for any who wish to pirate it we seen it many times before. No real answer or good solution I guess just be happy people like and want to use your mods :)
  10. Stating the obvious some of your textures are not loading you have texture packs and patches did you had to overwrite anything? Also remember Skyrim is 32bit and your computer as well as every-bodies has a finite amount of vram. I however think that missing textures is due to and overwrite. I state this a lot a stable game is what you are after overwriting mods can cause issues the longer the game plays out the more they mount. Also you may want to check the compatibility of your mods highres had some issues with that.
  11. Just remember if you change the base game expect glitches and beware of conflicts there after. I stay away from overhauls as the longer the game you play ie higher levels the more likely the problems will mount. Volumes have been wrote on this research and mod accordingly a stable game is the key anything that changes the stability of the game is not worth it.
  12. Wow, don't know if I would do that, but I don't have much knowledge of exactly what you are talking about, it just seems like a bad idea. No this is not normal. And Skyrim needs the unofficial patches, esp. the Unofficial Legendary Patch and the Unofficial HD Patch. But the biggest thing glaring me in the eye is I see no mention of SKSE or SkyUI there. Almost all mods require them. SKSE is NOT installed through a mod manager. And you need to start Skyrim through SKSE instead of from any other source, but MO does this for you - but only if you have it installed. I use MO myself, and I have to say it doesn't do this (prob has nothing to do with it, and BTW I like it). Not trying to be an idiot but Skyrim does not need the unofficial patches to work properly I have had many a play-through and do not use it and had little to no issue.. I have run into bugs in the game but none are covered by the patches. It should be noted at the start of the game it is heavily scripted and should not be modded only character mods should be use nothing more. Best thing you can do is read up in this forum and also look at tutorials on how to make your game run properly and avoid conflicts. Remember stability is the key a stable game is a playable game.
  13. So I am the weird guy who voted for over 22 would like to see some middle aged followers myself......I know I am the strange one.
  14. I decided to go down memory lane a fire up the old xbo360 and play skyrim.. Oh boy I forgot what it was like to play on a potato but anyway I loaded some saves ect and played for a while. While I found it interesting I know why I went to PC gaming and will never look back. However it was Skyrim and the want to mod it that made that decision for me I was happy playing on my potato until then. So now my game is so far from vanilla that I wanted to see what it was like before.. I think we forget how great moders have made Skyrim... It is only through hours and days and even years for some mods lets not forget what SKSE did for us either. I believe until you visit a true vanilla Skyrim no console commands nothing can one truly appreciate this. The list is too long to mention all the great contributors and modders to this game and how to make it stable you know who you are your legacy is assured in Skyrim lore and history. I guess this thread is nothing more than to say THANK YOU to all who made the game and all who made the game great. :) Happy gaming
  15. Some of the adds get marked at malware ect.. I am not a fan of Mcafee but it is doing its job I get hit with an average of 30 adds on the start page so no real surprise it get blocked by some antivirus software.
  16. Compainions ....you still have to prove yourself whelp..... Even though if I follow quest line before dealing with them I am dragon-born killer of dragons.... Theivesguild ....Never earned all that gold your carrying... We'll need Nocturnal's help.... oh really All the guards in every hold heard about me and my "honeyed words" and could I be the" Dragon-born of legend" lets not forget "letting a dragon go I'll never understand that" yet all factions have no clue who I am or ever heard of me.. So much for being well informed. Any lines you like or dislike?
  17. Number 4 laughed harder and longer than I should have only because it is true for so many people.
  18. At the end of the day it boils down to the whole Companion quest line is glitchy at best and unplayable at worst. I think I had only one successful playthrough with them that was on xbox lol. They attacked me after I did a quest to kill a bandit leader and they sent me on it go figure. I seem to stay away and dont bother now... even the blacksmith can die and that makes no sense because then the quest line cannot be completed...I wish you luck.
  19. No need for a mod enchanting is all you need make a necklace or some boots ect.. the higher your enchanting skills the better the enchantment aka stronger you can make gear good enough to sneak in daylight with little detection.
  20. Well you solved your own problem do not run mods at the beginning of the game only character mods texture hair ect.. Only after you leave Helgan do you want to mod make a hard save before you do that way you have a reference point and do not have to go through the intro again. Why because it is a save that is not modded except for your character mods.. any more issues you may have a conflict and your mod list would be needed.
  21. I use this with no problems has what you want read the mod and what it does . http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15524/?
  22. Most overwrite with the newest mod they downloaded. I don't overwrite I find an alternative or find something that is compatible with my existing mods. Only time I overwrite is an updated to an existing mod but that really depends on the update I may just uninstall the current version and install the newest version depends on mod author and update. This leaves me with no conflicts and save me from pulling out my hair :)
  23. Your heading for problems overwriting never is good.. plan, research, mod your game.. modding without a plan you might as well start a thread up asking for help on how your game crashes and wont load. not being mean just telling you what will happen.
  24. I don't like Ulfric Stormcloak he has no regard for anyone not a big fan of Tullius either. I always mess with Nazeem he is a great to reverse pickpocket and give him all kinds of crazy potions. Top of the list goes to the whole Thieves Guild they are nothing but a bunch of lazy whiners and are good for nothing and there is not one follower to be had there.
  25. Plan and research is the best advice I can give decide the playthrough you want and use mods accordingly. Do not over write mods if your overwritng one mod for the other it will cause issues. Read what the mod author writes about requirements and conflicts and do look in the post section of mods see what people are saying. Remember a stable game is the key you will find many people in this section looking for advice or help due to poor planning and research.
