  1. Good grief, well said. Nice to hear a calm, rational voice amongst all the biggering and argueing this thread is quickly turning into.
  2. Very well written article Robin. I liked what you said and you said it well. I don't play on console, nor do I have Fallout so I was a bit confused in the beginning by everything I read here on the forum (and appalled to be honest by some people's responses and their suggestions on how to deal with these thieves) Shocking to realise how laid back Bethesda is in this matter and how they intend to 'deal' with mod theft. That is all the more reason why I am glad to be part of this community. At least here, your voice is heard. I am really happy for console gamers that they are finally able to mod their game. But not when it is done by resorting to theft.
  3. Thank you for the reply and info. Kudos to you.
  4. You may have better luck if you post your question here: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/485981-skyrim-mod-detectives-thread/
  5. Wow, complicated stuff but the more I read your explanation, the more it begins to make sense. (I am currently following Nightasy's tutorials so most of this stuff is double Dutch) And thank you for explaining the difference between XPMSE and XP32. I never quite understood it untill now. Am I therefore right in assuming that if a mod requires XP32, you can safely install XPMSE instead?
  6. Hi Geone Noob here myself in 3D modeling, but if you are looking for a good 3ds Max tutorial, I would definitely suggest Nightasy's Youtube channel. The tutorials are on Skyrim modeling and well worth watching (and following along: step by step) If you do have Skyrim installed on your pc, I would definitely start with his playlist and once you get the hang of it, you may be able to give Fallout 4 a try? You're in luck. Just took a look at the Nightasy channel as I remembered he had another Youtube channel called Brainpoof. And he covers Fallout modding there with Maya  Here you go: Good luck!
  7. Forgive me for being a noob, but if the problem is on 'the Nexus site', how come not all of us are experiencing this redirect? Some are, but not everyone. This site has millions of members. There would have been a ton load of complaints by now. I don't have ad-block on, I see the normal ads one would expect, I am not being redirected to a fake flash update site.
  8. My pages were slowed down as well and what worked for me was turning off the 'skin' under site preferences.
  9. Red triangles and exlamation marks means your game can't read the meshes. In other words, the meshes were not installed properly. 'Unrelated' npc's show up as exclamation marks, but they may not be as 'unrelated' as you might think. When you use a body replacer like CBBE, every female in the game will use that bodytype, so if the meshes were installed in the wrong place, you end up with these type of problems. It helps if you tell people how you installed CBBE. Did you do it manually? Use a mod manager like NMM or MO? A mod manager is usually the best way to go. Check your folder to see if the meshes (nif files) are there: Steamapps/common/Skyrim/Data/Meshes/actors/characters/character assets (go to CBBE mod page, go the files tab. Under 'main file' there's a little magnifier glass. Click on that and it will show you the content of the mod you are about to download and the file path and what all the nif files are called and where they are located.) Oh and speaking of dirty edits, everytime you run 'verify game cache' you will have to clean your masterfiles again with TES5Edit. Do not clean Skyrim.esm, only Update.esm and any other DLC you may have installed.
  10. All I can tell you is that the armour is from here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/4793/? And the hair is probably from here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10168/? The rest I don't know unfortunately.
  11. @Balkhan 1 You can find it here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/68311/? (hairstyle 'Wanda')
  12. Great that you found a pic, that will hopefully narrow down your search. Could it be from LeanWolf's Better-Shaped Weapons? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/39870/? Under the files section, there's an optional file: DragonBling weapons: adds ruby, emerald or sapphire pommel stones to the Dragonbone meshes (DG only
  13. Could it be this one ?: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13665/? Edit: the sampler pic shows a big two handed sword with an emerald.
  14. Finally, it was driving me nuts. Had no idea it was the background image. I don't know anything about Stylish extensions but choosing ' no skin'' under 'Site Preferences' fixed it alright. I can still use the zoom function (which I need due to bad eyesight) Kudos to you ah42
  15. Could it be from the Ningheim race?
  16. That is good to know. Except for my anti-virus (which is set to 'game' mode) I never have any browsers open in the background. ( Love that smiley)
  17. Wow, turns out I had conduit on my pc and I don't have a clue how it got there. I just ran JRT and 38 instances (entries?) were deleted from my pc. So thank you for that information and link. Btw, does this crapware slow down our game as well?
  18. For proper load order
  19. It could be a mod that is causing this. People on the internet report different mods being the culprit. Disabling all mods and turning them back on, one by one till the culprit was found fixed it. For some it was a matter of load order. You could try LOOT for a proper load order first and see if they are any warnings under the 'details' tab. (you have both Alternate Start and Helgen reborn. They both make modifications to Helgen and Arthmoor stated in his description that his mod should be placed relatively low in the load order) Also, I don't see the Unofficial Dragonborn Patch in your load order.
  20. No expert here but I would really suggest running LOOT for load order. Sorry I can't be of more help.
  21. Wow, I'd just read it. Amazing that If you don't have enough money on you,...you're out of luck unless you use the console. I've only done a few quests in Markath, so I'm actually glad I know about it now.
  22. Or this one: RealVision
  23. Are you sure you met all the requirements? http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Vlindrel_Hall (there are some bugs mentioned on the bottom of the page) Even if they mention you can buy a house, you still have to become Thane first.
  24. 1. Are you on windows 7 or windows 10? If you are on windows 10, read here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3089504-fix-for-skyrim-crashing-instantly-with-enb-on-windows-10/ I only use windows 7 myself so I can't help with windows 10, sorry. 2.Did you use wrapper version or injector? (I only use the wrapper version, so can't give any help/info on the injector version  ) 3. Did you place the d3d9.dll and the enbhost.exe in the right folder, which is the Steamapps/common/skyrim folder, not the Skyrim/Data 4. This video may be able to help you out. (do not use the download link in the description for ENBoost. I know you already have it, but just in case you decide to dl it again,.....use this link: http://enbdev.com/download.htm ) Note: the video is slightly out of date as you now only need to install the d3d9.dll and the enbhost.exe but the rest of the info is still valid and the enblocal.ini settings can help a lot > http://wiki.step-project.com/ENBoost ) And you are right, there is no such thing as ENBoost.exe Edit: Found some more info. It could have something to do with DirectX. http://forum.step-project.com/topic/4790-windows-81-update-1-and-enb-dll-errors/
