I loved Kotor, I did not enjoy Kotor2 as much tho [ sorry] I liked BG, I have never played bg2, yet still I love DAO. I hope that DA2 does not go by the way of DAA to be honest. There was little interpersonal actions. I miss the sniping/ banter, love story aspect of DAO as well as a intelligent plot. All action will quickly bore me out. I liked diablo but Its not like i replay it since beating it... jsut a hack and slash. DAA was disappointing. I hate to sya it btu after it was all finished i had a big rift in my heart like... this is it? worth playing btu i wont replay it much. I have finished it x2 and im totally satisfied there is nothing else to do with it. So, keep the story line fresh, i have read the dragonage books, and takign from their plot line, there is a lot to discover that could be worked into da2 { SPOILER} like that Alistairs mum is the GW elf Maric became involved with after rowan passed. the artichet kept mentioning the baby..... is that Alistair? or Morrigans male without a father God child? would be fun to explore that , with lots of emotional impact a s well as battles imo. each to his own I guess! Diversity is wonderful!

LOL Spike! I would definately dl the mod if someone made it , but Im a total pc noob, for now i am going to try finnireachs kick mod. I have always wanted to kick Carrol in the lake too! Mb we can burn a hole in Anora's dress or something too! lol

Isnt there a mod out called ANyone can Marry Alistair? It still depends on your relationship with alaistair and u must haev some persuasion skills. Im not sure if it was dl'd from Bioware or DaNexus [ I luv this website, everyone so helpful and chatty~ } I have the mod but I cant remember where I got it from,im sorry about that, As for any other way to become Queen or King, I havent seen anything else but these fellas would definately know if it were available! good luck finding it!

i dl housecall and ran it, but it didnt find anything altho i have to tell u I do not know how to find quarrantined partitions/items to run scan there. I concurrentl re-ran Nortons and it did nto find anything either. While i doubt anything malicious going on, i did want to follow up on your suggestion! thanks again

In my opinion DAO takes the title. I detested Oblivions first person view, dark graphics and slow, slow leveling. I didnt find the interaction with npcs rewarding either really. I dont have that kind of patience in game play without something to intrigue me... Fallout was to much a shooter for me as well, while i totally enjoyed watching my boyfriend play it [ it w as kinda like a movie! lol ] I have terrible responses, and some limited visual skills i guess. I prefer way better the battle tactics [ i hope this is the word i am looking f or ?] . It was easy to stop the action, take a look at the targets and plan my attacks based on that. ALtho I must admit, I am a bit of a romantic and I was totally immersed in the story line of the characters. I found myself wanting to beat up {SPOILER} Goldanna, Marjolaine, and taelosin. The romance side was totally immersive too, and unexpected! I loved the party banter, sometimes I would just keep running around the forests to spawn more banter as it cracked me up so much! Alll the titles have their fans I am sure, but to me, DAO [ UGH NOT DAA, :(] was like reading a book that I could "view" and interact with. I totally adored it!

Lol SPike, that is an idea! I am ambivelant about her execution, mainly becuz {SPOILER} i think of her being locked in the fort drakons tower, the very tower..... she w as locked in that one right? I mean that was the very tower the arch demon landed on, and we had to battle thru the multitudes of critters that had literally wiped all nontainted faces out of the palace! I mean mb her fate ended up worse than execution.... aka brood mother comes to mind? LOL altho on the other hand... when i once said i couldnt kill loghain, Alistair jumped in and said he could, and did so.... It would be a fun option to behead her beside her pops! SHe is a manipulative woman, one very much like her father, in that it doesnt matter the cost of the human life, the abuse or even the aide, she bestows on folks, as long as her goals are accomplished.

heya all , i discovered in the midst of attempts to repair the game lag/lock up issues, and invisible characters at cc area, that this program has an exe file in it. I believe i dl it off bioware [ tho its prolly not important. Nortons Sonar reports it as acting suspciously and quarantines it. I love the hair styles it has inside, but i think the " make chargemcmorph.exe" is or may cause trouble for some users? anyways i thought i would alert any whom may be experiencing any difficulties with the program too .

OOO WOW! I reinstalled the dvd version of game, and set the game to pass thru firewalls? Sorry sometimes I cannot think of the correct phrasing. BUT hurray! i played thru with only the hair mods installed and it worked! NO lag no video lock up no game rebooting! OOO im so happy i hope w e have corrected the issue totally. I want to praise and thank again Danscott839 and Darkwolfe! I continual to be thankful and amazed at all of your patience and direction! Kudos!

I agree, {SPOILER} I would love the option of being a mage and finishing the ritual per self... or mb Morrigan could at least cheat and transform herself into my character for the ritual after she was refused... after all, she did deny being able to shape shift into other humans, but said that in relation to Flemeth , it was not inconcievable that she could transform into something more "attractive" to entice the chasind men. that being said, she has learned her talents from Flemeth.... ahem, mb she could fake it as your own toon since, after all, Alistair is tired and most likely compliant with his loves wishes teehee. henc ethe lore stays intact in that Morrigan just runs off to have a demon baby [ i suspect to prolong her life and increase her power when she possess it eh?] While your toon would never know why she or he survived so to speak?

ya, it hasnt helped my lock ups hat require hard reboot, or the blank character creator screen, I thought mb just to test the program thru i accepted first blank toon available, I chose a Dalish male elf, it loaded in invisible then suddenly appeared as a human male, holding an arrow but no bow.... very weird. I think my pc is possessed or something :( Im goign to check the realtek driver altho i updated them all via driver direct program, at this moment im about to pull my hair out lol ! thanks so much for the tips and i am dbl checking compatibility mode, for some reason my daoriginslauncher does not have the .exe after it so even under a file search function it would not pick / or is it find the item?

OMg this just happened to me too! i have been uninstalling/reinstalling DAO in efforts to get it to play. Before it was just lagging our/locking up 3 minutes into the origins story cutscene, and now this too... as roseanna de anna used to say ... it's always sumthin. I am a pc noob but i hope someone figures it out as i would liek to play this game someday again too . I have also lost my finished mage file [ i saved on a second HD ] so... i have no saves left evidentally :(

Hi, I have been conversing in the forum usertroubleshooting, but I though mb this was perhaps a better spot to ask, as Darkewolf suggested,. HOW do i associate win7 compatiblity mod to run the program DAO? IM a total pc Noob, suffering horrible withdrawls from the game! I have MS and this game is very much my outlet~! Im so fustrated As mentioned before I had winxp pro and it ran for a long time w ith mods, now will not run off dvd or steam vanilla! Im about at a loss, it doesnt even run without mods installed now, via the dvd installation [ not thru steam anymore]. Im so fustrated, I have invvested so much to tweak my system up monitarily but I truly dont want to invest in a mobo or chip since mine are fine? I looked at a few more config options thru DAO and dumbed the graphics down so low [ its like the worst cartoon and blurry ever!] and still it locks up at cut scenes. I have a lil more info, im not sure why it might be important but a fellow WOW player said it might be? I have realtek RTL8 168b/8111B family pci-e gigabit ethernet nic { ndis 6.20} cpus 1 cores-2 clock speed 2662MHz Intel Core 2 cpu 6700@2.66 Ghz i tried to opt out of movie playing in config btu i was afraid it would defeat the inner story like {SPOILER} alistairs confession at Redcliff. Im truly out of ideas and my boyfriend refuses to assist me, supposing he could i mean, he keeps laughing telling me I spent 500 dollars for the *k ram and win 7 64 bit and i still cant play the game { i had played it before on xp pro for quite a long time with like 20 mods working thru steam and it lagged our/ locked up and has been since then [ approximately 3 weeks now] thanks for listening, Im fustrated with no where to turn and almost losing hope, as the geek squad is really kinda idiots [ they looked at my mobo and said OOOO lights! i never seen anything like that..... wasnt inspiring any confidence in me, and sure enough they ran a diagnostic, charged me 65.00 and said we dont know what's wrong with it but u could try buying blah blah and seeing if that helps!}

well i removed several of the mods including those u mentioned, still locks up in the video streaming of the dormitory [ origin quest]. I guess i will try installing the dvd version and praying that works. is there any general rule of thumb about how many mods a person can or should use? thanks for all your help!

there actually is a thread asking why not Riordan, and Morrigan explains, that he has been tainted for to long for the ritual to work. SO it has to be alistair or yourself if playing a male toon. Lol Dan I simply must try them all there!

In a sense even tho they were a good person once, that does not forgive their insane failings. Loghain planned Cailans death as evidenced by the early planning of poisoning Eamon. Also if u want historal references, to their family members, even Hitler, Rasputin etc were considered good folks, but it doesnt change the fact that they were evil morally! so ya i killed loghain 14 of the 15 play thrus

LOL im totally addicted i have a cd version but for some reason i was never able to redownload any of the paid content [ i bought it thru steam AND thru bioware aka return to ostager etc] so my boyfriend insisted i should keep the steam version as it was " readily dl'd for dlc} so another noob question plz? cna i install BOTH versions or will that cause issues in itself? thanks dan

well i ran the game wihtout Nortons running , again it is thru steam , it made it { spoiler} thru the fade SLOOOOOWLY to the dormitory , wher eit promptly locked up. I have oen gig video ram but 8 gig ram on Mobo. if it is a memory issue [ and i have been told dragon age has memory leaks? whatever that means] how is it repaired please? and /or how many mods as rule of thumb may someone install for cohesive running? thanks for your help!

LOL , it would be great to have a mod to do the ritual youself as a mage. [ I luv mages!!!] Yes it was icky, and i despised Morrigan for liek the first 4 playthroughs then i started talking to her,she isnt so awful underneath.. besides think of it this way, I suspect she will be performing the same survival technique that Flemeth used [ on alistairs baby lol ] but this simply means we get a sequal! more alistair time LOL
