If you dont ge t any results here, u may want to post in the tech support forum here about issues, the folks are terrific. I do know they will want to know about any mods you have installed, I had the same issue onc e with Alistiar and it was related to a dialog mod, somehow bypassing the gender check, It has since been fixed.[ mien w as an early version install] I have noticed that whenever i think someone looks cool in the character creation and i think I cna live with that , they appear different in game! Skin color etc way differnt than i picked in CC. I often delete them and try again. The really neat Mp files on nexuz here has helped me considerably with that. GL mate

Yes i have noticed if i did the redcliff before instlaling the Nvariety it seemed to work fine as originally i had installed it way later in firs tplay thru. It was new games i had issues, many times the zombies wouldnt come down the hill to fight and i ran up there and no zombies, I didnt care about the oil or the chanttry quests either, o yes and oddly Bevin could not be activated in the closet either. I could live without that too, but i did need the fight to begin to progress beyond standing and awaiting a bevy of undead that never attacked. Incidentally i think it also interfered with lothering bar, I could not recruit leliana in that it crashed continually and often I could not reload a saved game I had to begin a new game as old would never load. I am pc illerate, and i luv the indivivuality that Nvariety provided, but removing this allowed the game to play as normal .

LOL it always seems to happen to me now, I assumed it w as some mod i have installed, but as it was only there i didnt much care lol. mb she decided to be more turtle like and withdraw from all the squishies... OK im just rationalizing it! lol

I had this issue with a mod I installed called Nvariety [ nude variety] its a cool mod but if its installed it may be boogering up the events in redcliff. I also had weird things random like counldnt access the bar in lothering etc. I am not saying this is the cause but mb check to see if u have this mod installed?

Really the spells available for Bloodmages vanilla arent that good . I expected a wonderous knockback like u see Jowan perform. nothing. Arcane warrior I use only to be able to wear the better armor so my poor mage doesnt get one shotted by a hurlock. ALtho now with the cool armor mods its lessa problem , { my firs t mage play thru I still had the fade striders,... I mean come on! and the best mage outfit was the archons robe??! puhleeze!!! and even then i had to wait til near end game to get them . [ i had a lot of money issues in vanilla play thrus. brutal like old school WOW was! lol I never did both as i simply never got more than 2 specialties offered... and either needed the rez ability of spirit healing or the heavy duty armor to stop dropping liek a fly! anyways might be fun to try both! prolly best if u try them both and decide for yourself too., just for the diversity and experimentation!

LOL i knwo this is an old thread but after re-reading it I decided to add my two cents! LOL firstly there is a letter written by King Endrin u can discover that proves Harrowmounts claim that the king did not want bhelen in power. So whatever tradionalist he is, its an honest one, and elders find changes hard to manage anyways. when I play as the casteless, I always pick Bhelen, i hate that he is decieving, and I KNOW he is even without having played it thru, but I pick him for my sisters sake, If being casteless taught her one thing, it was to preserve and grab better things, especially for a sister that loved and cared for me, even to the extent of having to sell her body to feed us! No way I was going to let her down, and when bhelen was crowned I made a point of noting; I did it for my sister, and I think he capitulated about lifting her and baby up becuz of the " hint of threat" from teh warden [ ok i can imagine it but no doubt he realized he better cater to her booty, cuz otherwise she would slit his throat like all the darkspawn before her As for the dwarven noble, well whiel she waits to be presented as the new commander of the troops, I over hear Poppa King talking about the value of tradition etc. I try to imagine that being raised with those values, and so far from the plight of casteless would make it " normal"and believably right to support Poppa Kings mores. for all the years she was raised to accept the caste system for normal. I realize fighting amongst the shems world might change some perspectives, but probably not enough, to alter her perception of orzammar values. Plus Bhelen killed my brother, and essentially the pc too thru exile or potential death, but also may have poisoned his own father! I agree with thandal, he is a despot, and altho he does some good like digging a well in the desert for nomads, it doesnt cancel out to the DN what it has cost her, her people and her father. so harrowmount it is. ALso if u even hesitate in your comments to Bhelens shady second, he threatens u. Harrowmounts never does that, and yes the annoying run her cater to my requests irritate [ i felt manipulated by both canidates.] I still felt HArrowmount hte lesser of two evils. sadly bhelen does more for the poor peeps than harrowmount but mb it is becuz he was so blocked and thwarted, but he did honor the pledge he made to King Endrin that he would never give the throne to the true kinslayer.

totally what codifier said, I had same probem and by process of elimination removing the NVariety mod fixed the issue. Its a neat mod, mb someday that problem will be radified.

Alistair, adorable like a puppydog, yet strong when he needs to be , YES I luv that he has insecurities/vulnerable side. makes him more real. Zevran, he made me laugh so much! plus the voice is awesome!> he is like this antithesis, an assasin with a heart underneath. its epic Shale, I loved the voice, the jokes and the revelation of her humanity underneath! while I appreciated all the other characters as well filled out characters and i always recruited them, I probably could go on without them, as most of those i left in camp anyways! LOL Ohgren was the most difficult for me to like, He is way to typecast, but finally after like 30 playthrus i made myself take him along and he was kinda ok. a hint of something beneath the Bleh.+

EEP I just realized i never addressed the DS question and i meant to! Itis apparrent that abhorations like the architect, and the firsts came from somewhere, so without the singing of the old gods mb they become more of an intelligent hive directed by mad mother figures or conniving architects? I think too the possibilty of rampaging insanity is a good one, they just run amok like rabid animals, and without a focused goal of the locating the old gods, they might have way more time to run afoul of new tunnels to the surface etc. could we imagine a hive of bees that lost its hive mentality and just randomly flew everywhere stinging anything in sight>? brings to mind some of the zombie movies!!! way worse than a blight!

Im with Naomi here, I hope they will go back and answer those questions i felt paramount thru da:o and daa. Like who was the other that Velannas sister " bonded" too. I half hope it was Duncan drug beneath the dirt to the architet and that the warden [ I admit i loved da:o characters, romance and interaction! especially Alistair! teehee] go to investigate that, and altho that great mod dark times at Malkuth addresses the possiblity of reversing the calling.. the book by David Gaider entitled the calling, actually lists one [ al's mum] as having survived the calling and not having to have it again. ! Did Maric really die on a ship or did he go to Fiona to spend out his days? it would be interesting to go to orlais and help zevran deal with the crows they offer the invitation to join them [ sideline quest in denerim]. also if the architet was spared in Daa what happens to him? he certainly isnt going to lay down, he has been going strong also since the novel The Calling days. Someone needs to investigate, and WHAT was his purpose in experimenting on the warden? Who is the CHild he kept referring to. SO while new storylines in DA2 are cool, i still want and hope they go back to answer, those questions and also the epilogue of DAA about how warden and Lis, go off without a word. where did they go>? did they go to discover those answers? what are the answers?! and of course Flemeth is way to vague as left in DA:O and i seen the lil video posted about her and im intrigued but i wonder if that question of who she is and what she wants is still to come in da3 with my warden again! IM so pc illerate! i have downloaded so many mods [ all wonderful I am sure!} but i cant use them LOL like the console cheat thing... how is that done? I totally agree that Anora would view the baby as a threat to the throne, she is like her father as Alistair noted { they think they know whats best for everyone} and it seems to be their ownselves that need to be in power to obtain the " best". I didnt dislike her per se, altho she was very much a ME person and once backstabbed my warden at the landsmeet. after that happened i took every oppurtunity to lie to her and have MY own way at the landsmeet, she can rot in the tower , knowing she had a hand in her fathers death! teehee ok that was vicious, but funny~!

I think of Morrigan akin to a child brought from out of african jungle, thrust into american society and expected to relate approipately. SHe clings to the one thign she has been taught, that she knows SHE is meant to do, [ flemeth taught her to use men til they are spent, and to have this demon baby!] She skitters around emotions she cannot put a name too, she is like a feral dog in that respect to me, Liking the affection the attention but afraid of the next step, I think it would take far more time to acclimate to emotions and society than a view brief forays into lothering, and it seems to me that Flemeth may have intentionally or inadvertantly taught her to shun humanity, its treasures and to fear interactions with them, i.e. templars will kill you etc. So while i could wish for a fairy tale ending, I think overall it was written correctly. I will not go into the gender issue mentioned, other than suffice it to be, humans can be jerks all over, regardless of their sex in regards to relationships and mb much else! hope i phrased that correctly, forgiveness if not!

ack that sounds painful! I havent read much about DA-2, still mourning the loss of my PC toon to carry over! so many possiblities with the story! Totally agree with Rustyblade about the book Loghain [ i read them both] . Loghain was not impressive in either of them to me. His character was always self serving, and to be honest i didnt find what he did that " heroic" to begin with. I found Maric scared and frightened, but still rising up to take the next step forward more of a hero. Nope, his few god qualities , do not excuse his conniving, dictator-like, stomping over feraldons citizens or its lands. He demonstrated no redeeming feats there, and again i am struck with all the pre-ostagar planning. howes attack on couslands [ HAD to be iniated before ostager battle] the planning of eamons poisoning etc. I think he hanged himself. No mercy! Kill Loghain!

Lol after sending Jowan once in abid for his atonement, [ his spells are low level at best] I actually made irving go [ he owed me darn it! lol ] He has some really really fun spells! i totally enjoyed that! I have sent wynne and morrian [ morrigan does well} wynne was primarily set up as healer so that didnt rock my socks either.] I agree tho Pc is totally the best choice if you are a mage, otherwise have Irving or morrigan do it

Well mb off topic a bit but I truly wanted the story to follow thru the wardens adventures, surely we dont stop living since the blight is over, I mean if one did the DR and not the US. SO that being said I have hopes since awakening mentioned that my warden and her LI disappearred after that fiasco, that mb there will be a da 3 that will cover the ideas the rest of us have pondered, I have not played witch hunt through yet, but it sounds rather vague and sci-fi like, I like fantasy but i detest Yor type alien ships in my medieval realm games,!!! I like Morrigans inner angst for all the reason ably described in all this, but.... having a child alone, and having for once felt the rumblings of emotion of human kindness, love [ friendship or passion wise] It is hard to imagine going back to the proverbial emotionless ice queen. basic human nature ; we all crave affection and companionship. Ask a single parent if raising a child fills the same void, Its rewarding in ways, endearing but the child cannot take the place of a soul mate so to speak. And that is not saying one is better than the other, but it is sought after [ love ].

Well truly I am not satisfied with any of those theories, as in the Novels dragonage , the most likely mother of Alistair was a grey warden female, impregnated by Maric. That being said EVEN if they claim 2 GW's cant have kids, why not the alternate LI's? I agree too, that ok, mb Morrigans old school magic opened it up, but surely Alvernus would have cooked something up for ALL those years he experimented? HEllo i sent pm's to both bben and darkwolfe as i am concerned. I only just read hte message abotu the hackign on the 20th of dec, and I didnt yet change my password, however as i mentioned to them, I am still recieving some spam mail, [ altho i have a hotmail accoutn it does sometimes get thru] but worse than that is that I can no longer log on the website or forums as a registered member. I admit to being a Mod- hog! i love most of the new ones that come out and want to try them all, so hree i am wanting to dl and cannot! I tried to log on to change password and i cannot. I use a program that stores my passwords and personal info and i have not changed the pass etc, but circumventing that, i tried to type in the same info and I still cannot log on, I am truly truly concerned about the hacking issue, what info was comprimised and how can i regain a valid password to the site? please help!

Im with most of the other gamers here, you shoudl experience the pluses and minuses of each character. I look at the basic buikld [ and i mean what they come with already spell wise] and garner, that Wynne is a healer build and Morrigan a damager/controller caster. Now that being added , it is very easy to build either character into other spells. I have to admit that most of the time i need a friggin healer so i end up with wynne cuz i was lazy building up morrigan, lol but in later runs i have adjusted [ lots and lots of potions!!! and also adding heal to Morrigans repretoire]. Also in conjunction with Darkwolfe, I TOTALLY agree not to buy it off digital download, its convenient in the cold weather, but I found i could not enjoy the many many wondeful mods, mops, and adventures these terrific, artistic, skilled technicians have envisioned!

OOO I cant wait to try Thandal"s cheat! On my first playthru I also thought i woudl jus t make the US but alistair did it , and of course i had lost him anyways to kingship but i was still bitter [ i didnt know anything about hardening!] and terribly sad, I would have preferred death to struggling to live with the pain of both losses [ his love and his life so to speak] so the next time i let the DR go thru to have the happy ending, once i left AL at the gate and took the US, but now i really can have my cake and eat it too! I remember someone posting they used a ring that changed them into male and did the dr anyways..... with themselves ? well I havent managed to g et that to work, altho it might be hilarious, to pull that wool over her eyes. YES I do like the Morrigan character but i agree with Ell that statement in the bedroom in front of u about enjoying her sex, well.. that was cold.
