I found using the dragonrend shout (wich forces a dragon to land) and simply hacking away on it, for me the best and fastest way...

After doing a little research I found several sites that report this quest to be bugged. So what ever you do if you decide to have yourself arrested... Don't kill Madanach!!!!! Edit; I found a way round the bug by using the TCL command to get past the gate. Collected my gear and just walked out the front door. Quest completed.

Well yeah atleast I let them arrest me since you cant pay off the bounty and those guards were constantly trying to arrest me. I even searched for hours to find a console command to get rid of my bounty. Nothing worked. Its either fight or go to jail or never show your face in that town again. Going to jail unlocks a new quest so thats a positive thing anyways. As for the best course of action in my opinion... Talk to the guy. Killing him got me in trouble. Theres no marker for it on the world map. Its located near understone keep. (Cheers btw for the tip on using the ''unlock'' cc on that gate, didn't work though. Tried that command on several locks btw an it never has worked.)

You go meet the guy that hands you that note after the woman gets stabbed at talos shrine. he sends you to do some detective work. When you complete that and go back to talos shrine guards have killed him and pin it on you. You need to let them arrest you. You will be taken to cidhna mine, wich you then must escape... In there you must meet with a guy named Madanach and either escape with him or kill him.

I actually killed Madanach, took the key and note and killed everyone else in that mine. Ran into a little trouble after that, cause I cant get to my gear. The gate leading to the guards is locked and requires a key wich I cant find anywhere. I can however escape the mine (strangly enough the door leading to the city requires a key too, but opens without problems) but ones back in the city I get attacked by thonar silver-blood who cant die. The guards no longer want to arrest me luckely but instead try to take Thonar down. So I'm a bit clueless in what the hell is going on. Where do I go? Am I still getting my gear back? Hope someone can help...

I think that wont be for long... At one point he literally starts pushing you around. I took him straight back to his master after I recovered the axe and killed doggy for being an annoying pain...

Figured it out luckely.... Because console command Playerspellbooks was activated the shout came up 4 times in the list and I just chose the wrong one. Got it sorted now...

SetAV is setting standard value, ModAV is changing standard value either up or down, ModPCA not a clue really...

Both done thats the whole point thats puzzling me... Killed the dragon by the watchtower (after that you are being summoned) and read one wall. Havent encountered any other dragons yet.

Can somebody please enlighten me as to how this shout business works please? I traveled all the way up those blasted 7000 steps to perform my shout for the Greybeards, simply to get the message that I need a dragon soul to unlock shouts. I is a bit confused to be quit frank. Thanks in advance for any help...

TGM is a no-go... player.setlevel and advlevel however do work.

Bunch of bullshite this is... The kayran fight is dead easy period. Use the Yrden sign to trap the tentacles, cut them off and walk up that bridge. The key issue here is to keep Geralt rolling from one side to the other. There is absolutely no need to read books, use potions (apart from the mongoose one to complete a side quest), oils, bombs, the kayran trap or what so ever. Just one thing you need to take into consideration; is your QTE set to difficult or not? This makes a world of difference.

Couldn't agree more really... I noticed also that they changed some of the ingame music, however its still crackin' up the conversation bits. Anyone know how to downgrade the patching by any chance?

Could be just me or has anyone else noticed that the list of screen resolutions has been reduced? The max res in my list is now a staggering 1024 x 768??????

Maybe overclocking will help a little?

Your GPU is the problem mate... I used to play with the same GPU as yours and had the exact same prob. I upgraded to a Geforce Gtx 570 a while back and the prob was gone. Some Radeon cards are just to damn unstabile... Btw; Do you have the 1Gb or 512Mb GPU?

I still don't get were TW2 has 16 endings...

Tell me please how many different endings... Gone through 8 playthroughs now and ofcourse made different choices each playthrough and always have the same ending(s). You fight the dragon, meet with Letho and either fight him or let him walk away period. Elaborate please. Cause if there are more endings I would love to know about them.

If I remember correctly it was the only playthrough were I didn't give Iorveth his sword back when I took him to Letho in the old elven ruins.

After the battle with the dragon you are faced with the choice to either slaughter it or walk away... Upon choosing that last option I recall Geralt telling either Roche or Triss that a dragon is not considered to be a monster. That would kinda explain why he is using a steel blade in the cutscenes.

I wondered about those 16 different endings aswell to be frank... Gone through eight playthroughs and really (just as thou) cant find more than two of 'm. And thats on all difficulty levels. In that perspective the game (along with all the scheisse that was wrong with it technicly) failed epicly! Good thing we have some people making it more enjoyable by creating good mods for it!
