Its probably alternate start mod...i uninstalled it, created a new character and the problem went away.

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to say thanks. Validating my files got rid of the dollar signs in my menus.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled Nexas Mod Manager the other day, hope this helps for you.

You probably need to just start a new game. I know it's a bugger, but that's what I had to do last night when I tried to load a new save after uninstalling and reinstalling some mods to figure out why my character kept going bald. I eventually did figure it out (i think one of the mods recently added was causing the bald bug. im just not sure what the culprit was). Skyrim won't run on old saves if it's modded. Start a new game and see if it still happens. If it still happens then you need further help.

Do any of you have any rp suggestions?

Does anyone here know how to hotkey items in oblivion? I'm just learning how to play, and I wanna know how the hell you hotkey so I don't have to press the journal button for items. Also, which quests should I start first? I'm trying to avoid the main questline sense I'm learning how to play, and would much rather do the side quests for now. If anybody knows any good side quests to start off with, please let me know. I'm thinking about the dark brotherhood quest first, but I'm not sure what attributes makes a good assassin character. I've been having trouble with lockpicking too, when I move the mouse it doesn't put pressure on the lockpick plates and I'm stuck for hours trying to get the doors to unlock unless I auto attempt. If anybody knows a fix, let me know. And for those of you who are curious, I'm playing as an argonian named Alana. I would love to play as a vampire argonian , but I don't wanna get attacked by NPCS.

Hey there everyone, I'm starting a project about my character Kyra, a khajiit who is stealthy, an assasian, with a warrior and mage build. She would use any equipment anyone gives her and I am also wondering if it would be possible to give her her own custom dialouge (funny voice acting?) Can anyone turn Kyra into a follower for me? Also my real name under the credits would be KatEternity2.

I disabled all the mods I had for a fresh start/clean game start (except for skyrim and update esm), but now the intro into helgen is broken, the carts don't move whatsoever. The characters are talking and horses are moving naturally but the carts are stuck in place. Ralof and the thief talks to you like they should be talking to you but the carts won't move. Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks. :sad: i'm trying to start the intro scene completely vanilla without any mods added so that I won't run into any conflicts, but it seems like I just made myself one! Help! I have FNIS as well and tried to run that, I also tried to validate integrity of game cache. Wasn't sure about the papryus log though I suspected it was either that or the character behaviors/AI or both. Perhaps a mod conflicting with another mod. As soon as I entered whiterun I went into belathor's general goods store and noticed that his option to sell to you popped up (sold a few things to him). Then I went to Amren and his dialouge option of "what were you two arguing about?" finally popped up after a week or two of struggling with no radient questlines and odd character behavior. I'm going to need to sort through more files tonight before I can grab the log files of the papyrus. In the mean time I'm disabling/uninstalling any mod that may be conflicting with game play.

Well, I'm wondering if it's because of a few dirty edits in what it says after I run loot or boss. I'm not sure how to clean dirty edits with TES5 program, I thought I was doing it correctly but maybe I'm doing something wrong here. What do you do to clean dirty edits? What are the right steps? Cus sometimes I lean towards the fact that it's those dirty edits hanging around in dawngard.esm, dragonborn.esm, hearthfire.esm, and update.esm. What are the right steps to clean dirty edits? I know not to mess with mods, some of them require them. It's the other stuff I'm worried about. Removed the gold mod just now and ran FNIS. I dont know if that'd solve the problem but I would desperately like this solved!

Sorry it took me so long to respond, i was actually starting to think that my request for help would end up as a dead post. And like I said before, in the original, I already had to install the game after my computer had a system reformat done on it, so I know "uninstall then reinstall" isn't gonna help anything; I also tried steam's validate your cache option with the same dailouge problems in the game. It was acting like this before I even installed any mods. Amren doesn't give you the radient quest to find his sword but I did find a quick fix for belathor's vender problem, though I suspect it won't even work without the "Belathor Vender Fix" mod installed. Any idea why these two npcs are missing their dialouge or why a npc would even be missing a dialouge option in the first place? I tried for months to do it on my own and racked my brain looking things up about the topic, and, so far, I received absolutely nothing despite my constant research on it. I'm hoping that you guys here at nexusforums will be able to help me fix it. This is the right forum section to ask for technical support, right? can anyone help me figure out why there is missing dialouges in skyrim? I notice the biggest issue is in whiterun right now, some don't work. The quest with the redgaurd dude that argues with his wife as soon as you get into whiterun doesn't show up, and belathor doesn't sell his goods. It just has the "how is business" and "what's a breton doing in skyrim" or something like that as options. If anyone can help me fix this, I will be eternally grateful to you. I want skyrim to be working fully 100% not half way like it is right now. I've tried fixing it by myself but I'm no techie. :-( Anyone wanna pitch a hand? And don't worry all the mods I have on here work fine, nothings wrong with the mods. Everything is in their proper load order and I have used TES5 Edit program several times but it's not doing anything to fix the missing dialouge problem. I'm hoping it's just in white run cus it'd suck if I won't be able to finish questlines cus of missing dialogues. Is there anyway to fix this? Or am I doomed on the pc version forever? And I just installed the game, so I know it's not "uninstall and reinstall" to fix my problem. I tried that already and the missing dialogue problem is still there. Thanks so much for your help! Skyrim animations isn't working very well. The cart intro ride into helgen (started a new game) appears to be stuck and the only animation not working are the horses. The bodies are working fine and the voices and dialouge sequence work as they should, but the horses don't. They just stand there, completely stiff. I have FNIS installed and I also have FNIS creatures installed. I ran that, checked my load order, and nothing seems to be helping it, I think when I uninstalled any of the older animations that I had on there , I'm assuming the game still thinks that the old files are there, keeping the animals from working correctly. I am hoping that reinstalling the game helps the problem. I think I figured it out after nightless sleep and mass amounts of caffinee to keep me awake. ... heavilly scripted mods running together like requim, frostfall/hyperterhmia and other things like skyrim floral overhaul WILL cause your game to crash no matter what you do to it. Skyrim isn't made for heavy duty scripting and when I got rid of those mods, skyrim runs fine. I was able to play all the way up to the dark brotherhood questline; It looks like I'll finally be able to get some quests started. Hopefully I'll be able to make some general friends out here and also does anyone know how to repaint/repair paint /paint job a laptop that has stain on the edges of it?

Someone please reply to my topic for help this time? I am using Mod Organizer, as I didn't like how NMM deleted ALL of my mods that I had installed when I restarted/updated NMM. They were all gone and I'm quite mad at having to reinstall all 60 of them all over again. I want to run a heavily modded skyrim to incude skyrim floral overhaul but i'm not sure how to enhance my skyrim experience. Can someone please walk through with me on how to do this without causing anymore heartache? I hadn't been able to play a decent skyrim playthrough in months because of problems with mods breaking the game. It's pissing me off. I'd get all the way to level 14 or so only to have to start the game completely over or reinstall the game completely over because of a f*#@ed up thing a mod did to the game. Someone out there, please, please take the time to help me out with this? I want a skyrim as awesome as the one you guys play without any of the shits and OMFGs. Ive been stressed out to the point of almost vomiting and laying in bed most of the day due to all the strain from video gaming. It shouldn't be like this but I wanna learn how to do this so bad, dammit. Modding looks so cool but if you don't know which mods to add and which to not, it can get cause serious headache and ills. Another question I have is this: How in the WORLD do you make Mod Organizer run download links with skyrim nexus.com mods? It seems like I have to do everything by hand and that's not cool and I'm too afraid and angry at NMM to even think about redownloading that program. Isn't there a simplier way to test out mods, like a program or something without worry over "oh no I f*#@ed up again, lets start over the 9000th time?" I am somewhat very, very new to modding skyrim. I love the skyrim community /fanbase and have made plenty of friends because of the game! Geekers unite! :D On a more serious note, I need help with something. Sense I'm still new to skyrim, just recently buying the game a few months ago and just now playing it for the pc console, I added some mods and noticed that a few textures on the grounds are missing. The weird thing is they only seem to show up after I stab someone /slash at someone (ex Hadvar for when I'm training /leveling up), and any of the stormcloak soldiers whom just been killed. I think it's a mod but even if it is a mod, I'm not sure what would be causing it, as the only mod textures I have is Skyrim Tamriel Reloaded, and Silly Level of Details for Potions and Poisons (glass version). I also tried to use Skyrim Floral overhaul, but I have been having problems with that mod and I don't know of any other mod to make skyrim look less dull. The vanilla version is kinda bare and it would be better if it had more, but not so much it causes random CTDs or Infinity Loading Screens. My skyrim is working just fine, I am not having any freezing what so ever! I can play for hours! So you guys don't have to worry about that!! The kinda programs I have been using for modding are: 1. Nexus Mod Manager 2. TESV Edit (I'm not sure the point of this program; am I doing something wrong with it? Loot doesn't seem to think that it cleared any dirty edits when I run loot or BOSS). 3. Now here is my problem I've been having (It's in the attachment). I don't understand why, but all the floors sometimes ends up looking like a big white carpet of nothing. Does anyone understand why? Yes I ran loot and boss, I must've been using Edit wrong cus cleaning isn't doing anything, and I deleted any ground texture mods and I still get the same problem. Please help cus the big white square carpet things on the ground is annoying me big time. Hello all. Im having trouble purchasing a house in whiterun, the breezehome. I've done the needed questline on a previous save before I reloaded and tried again, but I kept getting the same error with no options for purchasing the house, and Lydia also has several "throw voice" glitches on many of my reloads. She usually says: "Hey, skeever butt!" or "Mello nose!" when I attempt to load a save when I just get her as a house carl. I cleaned my edits with both Loot and TESV Edit just now hoping that it'll fix the problem. I'm not sure if I have the same glitch with the other houses, and I'm worried that it'll prevent me from becoming a thane in the other major holds (Markarth, Solitude, Riften, etc). Is there a fix for this "throw voice" and "no purchasing options" glitch? I'm using several different multiple adoptions housing mods to help me at least have somewhere to put all my stuff.. please help. Also I don't want to change too much from Vanilla skyrim, so no Requim please, it feels too high tech and confusing when I'm just used to how things run in the game. I'm thane in whiterun, however, I just cannot buy breezehome. I have the money, I prompt dialouge around store shop hours and still no option to buy the house.
