  1. Any ENB will eat up FPS if you aren't running on a up-to-date graphics card. Like Aanikron mentioned. Most authors will provide a stability (optional) version since not everyone runs on a powerful rig. Also providing optional settings suggestions so your FPS doesn't drop. ENBs generally will drop frame rates down by 5-10 for the most occasion. As far as suggestions. As I tell anyone who asks which is better. It all depends your taste. I don't consider any ENB any better than any other. It just depends what kind of atmospheric feel you are into. Just type in ENB in the search bar and you should see them. I am currently using The ENB of the Apocalypse. You can check out some of my images here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/venominjection/ and see some of my game play screenshots. I have SweetFX turned off. Not by choice, but, because I just never ticked it ON. Or at least I think i do... Either way I like the setup I currently have.
  2. Yes, I have been working on my own radio mod myself. The problem is you have your mp3 songs in stereo type. You need to set the audios into mono instead. Audacity is your best bet for this.
  3. Zombie Apocalypse: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/10346
  4. Not for FO3 that I'm aware of. There is for FNV called FPS Weapon Wheel, which I would love to see ported over to FO3. It's set up to work with MCM which is a custom configuration in the game play menu for popular mods giving you the ability to config mods such as the FPS Weapon Wheel making it much easier to access. Instead of putting the configs in the pipboy (FO3 Style).
  5. Hmm, your question doesn't make sense to me. Do you mean "steam" as in Valve's Steam client? You can install Steam, but it won't do anything for your copy of Fallout 3 if you didn't buy it from there in the first place. Steam is basically just a digital distribution service, like GFWL or Origin. It's a great service, but it won't change anything in this case. And using an ENB doesn't require it. There are other ENB mods, just search for ENB and you'll find lots. Fallout: New Vegas ENBs will work in Fallout 3, too, as the two games run on the same engine. FXAA is similar, but I believe ENB has largely replaced it. Other graphics improving mods such as NMC's Texture Pack will also make your game look better. Make sure your system can handle it, though! These mods will kill your FPS. Exactly. And when it comes down to it, there isn't really one ENB better than another. That drops down to preference rather. I like most of them and right now I happen to be using The ENB of the Apocalypse. I'm loving it. Eventually I will switch around and try a different one. NMC is a re-texture overhaul you don't want to miss if you plan to use ENB. I also recommend Vandr HD Creatures.
  6. They are both good Fallout games. If you are looking to enjoy a game for a good amount of hours, either one is good to snag. If you are looking to get into the Fallout series then I would suggest getting FO3 and then FNV later on. They both have great DLCs. I can honestly tell you that either way... which ever you get you will end up buying the other one. :P
  7. I wanted to thank you again for giving me permission to upload your Pipboy Readius Skin Kit mod. Thanks again Lily. :)
  8. Nexus has been a great community. I'm happy it's survived this long and it still maintains to be one of the largest mod sites around. I don't use AdBlock or Noscript even though I despise adds. But if I can throw my 2 cents in to help this community stay alive then it's the least I can do in return for what Nexus has done me. Hopefully in the future when I get better situated (financially) I can show much more support to this community. xenoargh makes a good point. Although, I don't think it should be for the files you've downloaded every month. It should be any file you've downloaded off the Nexus site that has not had a value opinion. It would be a ton of reminders for most of those people, but, why not? I mean it's fairly simple to create an account on Nexus and go on a downloading spree and not give a valid opinion about it. I've been there and done that. I hate myself for it and I try to do the best I can to go back and endorse every mod that I like. Though, it might be a little too much. Maybe you can add another comment tab to the Modders page where it's only for members who have endorsed the mod and post a positive feedback on the mod. While leaving the other comment for constructive criticism, ideas, troubleshoots etc... Just a thought.
  9. I figured I'd put this here and hope for a response instead of posting a new thread with another same topic. I'm having this exact same problem as RodeoWearden did in the image with FPS 38. This problem occurs to me every single time I start my own custom race after I've applied the custom hairs in GECK. This problem only happens with hairs... I place the appropriate mesh (,nif) and texture (.dds) in the corresponding directory which is why I don't understand why I am getting this texture problem. This doesn't happen to all the custom hairs I have added but nearly all of them and it always seems to be the very same hair models that I happen to like... I've tried different methods. Like for example: Today... I added one custom hair, applied it to my custom race then saved it in GECK. It actually came out like it's supposed to. By the time I added more custom hairs then save my progress, that very first custom hair I added with the proper textures now has the crappy textures along with the rest of the hairs I've added. I've also moved them from my custom race folder to the default (characters/hair) directory, but I'm more than certain that isn't the problem. I then thought that maybe it was caused by renaming the .nif and .dds files to something more simple. So I went ahead and just removed the renamed files and replaced them with the original named files and corrected the directory path in Hairs window and then added them on my custom race through Face Data. That also do jack... Then I figured it was maybe a GECK bug... Like a hit or miss? At this point I don't know what it could be and it's gotten me very frustrated. I'm going to keep trying and see what I can do. I refuse to go back to vanilla. Can't I just have a good hair day? >.> If anyone knows what I might be doing wrong or the cause of this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
  10. Okay, I see now. Just getting back into the groove with GECK. Thanks
  11. Hey all. I just recently got back into Fallout 3 and one of the things I haven't been able to figure out is how to add a custom unique body to a my own or someone else's companion. I'm referring to companion mods I've downloaded that only come with a .esm or .esp and nothing else (no mesh or texture folders included). When I have opened the window of a character NPC in GECK there isn't a tab for face/body data on that particular NPC or Companion so I seem to be stuck there. So far the only guides I've found are just creating a companion with AI packages, dialogues, Faction etc... I'm very familiar with GECK and FO3edit since I have done my own custom races with own Meshes and Textures. But for companions, it seems to be different. How would I go about doing this? Or if anyone has any links to any guides out there how to do this step that would be great. thanks in advance.
  12. lol... Ran into the same stupid bug on the final quest. I used the setstage command and it rewarded me the xp then Joshua holsters his .45 but the glitch still remains. He zooms in to initiate dialog but no dialog is performed and my character disappears until he tries to start dialog again. It just keeps repeating. The worst of all is that all my CASM saves are in the DLC area so I've pretty much lost my mojave and DM achievements. Funny thing is, I've played FNV since the start and I've finally been able to come around doing the DLCs (since I never wanted to till the MQ) due to FNV being so heavily buggy. Once I get midway through the MQ I've never been able to proceed to complete it. HH = major disappointment. I can't imagine OWB and LR. Though, I did the intro to LR and it was intriguing. Won't bother. Especially since I've lost my previous work on FNV. This reminds me why I prefer and enjoy FO3 over FNV. Sorry for the rant and good luck to those who can actually finish HH.
  13. Alright, thanks a ton. That makes a lot of sense. I didn't think about that. I'll go ahead and give that a try. Thanks for the advice.
  14. You have the mod enabled? And are you sure you've installed the meshes, textures and plugin in the correct directory? When it comes to manually installing mods you have to make sure you install it in the games directory (e.g. My Computer/Program Files x86/Fallout 3/Data). It's very simple really. Just copy them onto the directory and overwrite when it asks. The Game itself does not provide meshes nor texture folders because it's all packed in the BSA file (Bethesda File Archive). As for the 2nd question... There is this mod by exeter (http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/16230) to cover up the neck sealer between the neck and body. If that's not ur type there are plenty of outfits out there that provide necklaces. That's the only one I know that actually covers up that portion between both. Just go to FO3 Nexus go to the Files tab above and drop down to categories and click it. It will list all mods in the proper category the modder classified them in and click on clothing or armor and search away. Edited: Ignore the first paragraph.,. I see what's happened here. I haven't used this outfit and retexture in a long time so now I see what's the problem you are having. The Beware Of Girl - Black Leather Dress is a texture replacer of the Brown Leather Dress for Type 3 by Kendo 2. It's said in the description. Basically you need the Brown Leather Dress and replace the textures with the link you provided of the Black Leather Dress to make it look like that. Unfortunately, the Brown Leather Dress mod looks like it's been taken down. You can find the link to the forum here (http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/115933-brown-leather-for-type-3/). You can PM Kendo 2 see if he's willing to rehost it or try to google and browse around see if you can find it on another site.
  15. Hello Everyone, I'm currently trying to create my own custom race through GECK which turns out fine. I've added my own meshes and textures to support my own unique look but the moment I click "Ok" in the projection screen (before exiting vault 101) after I've set her appearance, the game crashes. I figured maybe if I leave the settings as it is (vanilla look) and use a mod to bring up the projection screen afterwards it would work but it still crashes. At this point I'm unaware what the problem is. Any advice would be appreciated.
  16. hmmm... Sadly Slof's modding only generates for male race. I'll install FO3 and check out Kikais equipment. Maybe a modder out there might be willing to get permission to port it to FNV. I have no modding expertise. @nivea thank you.
  17. @Beth Thank you! :) I'm actually on FNV more now. Do you know if it's been ported? There's a savegame here Elise - Female Savegame that has her wearing it.
  18. I'm looking for a particular mod for female characters. It's the nose chain to ear piercing. I've seen it in many screenshots for FO3 and FNV. I've been searching for it in nexus and tried to google it but no luck.
  19. Not sure if this topic even belongs here but I'll give it a go. I'm looking for a particular mod for female characters. It's the nose chain to ear piercing. I've seen it in many screenshots for FO3 and FNV. Is this mod anywhere to be downloaded? I've been searching for it and can't find it at all. For both FO3 and FNV would be cool.
