What do you men by "open up a save"? I'm stuck on that step.

Okay, I've got another problem. Rather than creating a new class entirely I decided to create new talents. The problem is that this was the only tutorial I could find on that, and it constantly seems to skip little steps and fails to explain why you're doing the things it tells you to do (making it incredibly difficult to make anything other than the test spell the tutorial has you make). The page on 2DAs that the tutorial directs you to seems to suffer from some of the same problems; right now I'm stuck on trying to convert the .xls into a .gda because the thing just says "open Microsoft Explorer" to start off, and I have no idea what that even is! I need to know a few things; Where can I find a better tutorial/guide? If there isn't one, is this one even reliable and worthwhile? And finally, if I'm stuck with that one, where/what is Microsoft Explorer?

I'm new to the DA toolset, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to create or edit classes and talents? I have a lot of experience with Oblivion modding, but it seems that won't help me much here; the toolset is completely different.
