  1. I have F4 installed with mods from within the game, and many others that I added myself. Vortex only sees 1 mod, but there's almost 50, only about 12 are from the workshop, the rest are from Nexus. I can't find the path to, or the command for, rescanning the Data directory. Any help would be appreciated.
  2. is there any way to tell the time other than Waiting? You can't wait in power armor, so why doesn't the PIPBoy have a clock? I found a wearable watch that has no clockface - how dum is that - but it needs other mods just to wear; It'd be a nice feature if the time were available. Is there a console command for getting the time of day? Thanks.
  3. 1. how do I totally reset? In the mod you can only go back to previous save.? 2. Mouse use has disappeared! How can I get mouse-look/move back? Thanks.
  4. I cannot get NUM8 to remap to W using Skyrim Key Helper. It creates the file in the proper sub-dir, I see my edits updated, but in=game only left and right (num4/6) work, and all other mapped keys, but NOT Num8 for forward! How is this possible? Thanks for any insights.
  5. I am still having this issue; the broken quests are adding up. No solutions so far?
  6. Been a long time, but I started back with Skyrim. I have all the DLCs and just 12 MODS loaded. Now I have all these quests, but when I ask for the location on the Map, it is grayed out and doesn't work. Is there a way to figure out where the thingy that you got for whosamawhatiz in the tower needs to be told... what tower? Where? Is there a mod for organizing and reporting quests better, or a map mod that shows quests better? I've looked but can't seem to find one. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Funny thing is, I came here tonight to find keyboard remapping help to re-try Skyrim (I'm a lefty, they hardwired way too many keys..etc) which is directly to one of your points: from the get-go, Skyrim was console-designed. (Design to the money.) It's a pathetic place to find such a grand and influential franchise, all the way back to ARENA. I have to find Autokey again and relearn its script-writing and write and test a keymapper for Skyrim I guess, again. Fallout 4 shows the same weary disregard for a huge and loyal PC fan base. That said, without NEXUS, who would be playing *anything* by Bethesda? Thx.
  8. Fallout4Custom.ini - this file does not exist! I can't get the mods to run right; I followed the instructions for getting mods to work, but hte text refers to a file that is not there! Any ideas? I've played almost a 100 hours, but a crash and complete reinstall has resulted in this missing file. Thx.
  9. I only have a weight reduce esp and a hack passcodes esp and they show up not activated every time I start NMM; I tried activating them, toggling them, uninstalling them, reinstalling them, clicking the archive invalidate; remove all, reinstall, STILL no mods load. I edited the ini files to add the lines recommended by 'gopher' I believe. It worked when the game first came out. This week it stopped working! 12/8/15 not working.
  10. that didn't work, resetting the archive invalidation flag.
  11. Here's the thing - I see LOTS of it's broken since new version of Mod Manager. All games of FNV seem to be BROKEN. NO ONE IS TALKING. WHY?
  12. Since update the HUD and other MOD features aren't working - anyone else have this, or do you know how to fix this? Thanks!
  13. I tried two servers, twice, and nothing. Get the file on sourceforge, that's where I found it.
  14. Will try that! Question: would adding the heart in as a player item work? I've looked for the item code but can't find it.
  15. Great suggestions! I've never played a werewolf, even after all this time, so good to know. Variety in opponents should definitely come after the CS is released, we've had them in all the others, so I hope it continues. Having said that, there is, with the new combat system, at least an interesting variety of ways for dealing death to Draugrs! My favorite is getting them to run into the traps, swinging axes, etc, or get a bunch chasing you and then run them through oil and smash a lamp on them; there's a lot of ways to deal with a Draugr!
  16. Regarding quest locations, I am aware of the J/M function, and clairvoyance, however it does not always work; I will post specific examples when I encounter them, as I know many exist. Yes, sometimes it tells you, but we all remember the richness of the Oblivion journal, and that is sadly missing here. Clairvoyance does not always work outdoors, especially when multiple paths are available at reasonably similar distances.
  17. Yes, I use a couple UI modifications, I'd like it all in one package. In Oblivion, I used many texture mods and liked them; I'm sure there will be some I'll try, but as I have said before, I love this game except when I have to interact with it. Combat, dialog, movement are all wonderful, just don't make me have to use the interface to get my items!
  18. 1. FO3NV's skill menu - no slidy-mouse cuteness, no I-can't see-anything problems, just a text list, ok? 2. Quick-start - absurd to sit through the long and tepid and boring and needless intro - build and go. 3. Removal of the "empty" area on the left menu side. 4. Sorting in all menus. 5. Completely re-configurable keys; i.e., whatever you replace "E" with still picks up books! 6. A good old flat map that you can actually see roads on, and drop the insane "it's dark, you can't read the map now" 7. Consistency in commands - let the right-mouse select the right hand, and let "R" (or its replacement either remove all or one, independent of whether you are in a container, or in your inventory. 8. THIS one will never be fixed, but... say you've found the golden widget, and the journal says give it to Joe; have the JOURNAL TELL YOU WHERE THE HECK JOE LIVES! Being able to add comments to a personal diary would help, at least I could write down, in-game, where Joe lives. As is, the Journal is all but useless. 9. More hot-keys - didn't anyone at Bethesda ever here of SHIFT-1, ALT-1, CTRL-1? 10. The Construction Set - yesterday! Thanks; that's my top ten desperately needed fixes; how about you? (BTW - I do not think Skyrim needs a single graphic mod; it's a great stylistic success, but that's just me; I think there are so many graphic mods because the CS is not released)
  19. Amazing what gets allowed and what gets criticized... Anyway, I am replying to the negative post that started this discussion. Perhaps a calmer head would have simply explained the situation and invited visitors and users to continue their support for NEXUS, as well as supporting any other game-support sites. Bethesda did not have to open the game to modders, you know; it's their game, and while you can do what you want with you copy of it, they do not have to make any part of the code available, and we should all appreciate the generosity of Bethesda here, and so I for one will definitely support all forms of Skyrim sites. In the past, when STEAM was just getting going, I was really upset by their approach to presenting programs to users; since then I've turned 180 degrees and applaud them for their attention, support, attitude and the amazing variety of games they have made available under their coverage. They have brought my gaming to an entirely new level, and all the supporting sites that also enhance this gaming experience area supported and appreciated as well. NEXUS is the best site for Bethesda-based game mods, and when the SDK is released, there will be a constant flow of MODS in all directions. There's room for it all, no one is abandoning anything.
  20. Interesting; hadn't heard about the sound drivers. This is the FIRST game ever that will not interact with my sound controls on the keyboard! If my sound is low before I start the game, I cannot adjust it within the game. Thinking about it, I'm not sure what you mean by "turning off" the sound drivers - did you just set the sound sliders to zero, or make some other adjustment? Did you do it from within the program? I will keep that solution in mind;. Thanks.
  21. Follow-up Saved outside before going in; saved inside; completed quest for book and saved; BUT each of these had to be done AFTER a reload of the game, as each save crashed. So I have solved this problem by cheating: tgm, enter and ignore everyone, just get the book, coc whiterun save problem eliminated. However, that's not an in-game solution, that's just how to cheat past it. Any insights are appreciated.
  22. Orotheim - every time I enter this place I can save inside, but I cannot load it after that. Tried leaving and it crashed. I'll just avoid the place, but seems weird that it crashes just by going in to it. Anyone else have a problem there? 27th level character - running a W-7 3xSLI 9800 GTX+ PhenomII.
  23. Just a quick note - Bought the Players Guide! 655 pages! Absolutely essential for a serious player, a wonderful addition to the experience.
  24. I think (but do not know for sure) that carry weight is the maximum unencumbered weight limit and inv weight is the max you can carry, period. I believe that the ratemult are like enchanted rings, in that they modify the base, but do not change the base. I set mine once to 100, and with a low level character, they would refill very quickly, you could watch the bars fill; at higher levels it seemed not as fast, but since I had many more points by then, perhaps the refill was not as obvious. I'd be careful with the speedmult - I set it twice and it seemed to redouble; setting it to a minus number did seem to slow me down, but I wouldn't apply a minus value to it the first time you try it!
  25. combatdoc13 - there are several ways to insert skill points; you should go to one of the wikis (I like http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyrim) and look at the console info. There are many ways to do this skill bonus, and each way has a different effect. You can SET the skill level, you can boost the skill level like a magic ring would, and I thought I read somewhere that you can trade souls for skill points, but I can't confirm that. Better you read the articles as they explain it very well, and you will benefit from understanding the console better. Good luck.
