  1. Does anyone know of a way to tell what cell you are currently in while in game if you are out in the middle of the wastes somewhere? Preferably I would like to be able to tell what the GECK id for the current cell is. Thanks in advance!
  2. Simple, use GECK to create a custom fridge or any other container, and add any items you want as well as quantity and item health. Then all you need to do is "drag and drop" them into the appropriate cells, save your new .esp file, and load it using either FOMM or the data files menu.
  3. When you bought it from WIndows Live it should have been downloaded and saved to your install folder. To play, launch the fallout3.exe, select data files from the splash screen menu, ensure the zeta.esm file is selected (is checked in the box) then launch the game and reume from any saved game desire. Shortly after resuming from the save you load you should recieve a pop up notification alerting you to a "strange transmition" thus unlocking the Mothership Zeta quest.
  4. Look here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3
  5. Have you created a new model from scratch or just trying to modify the existing model for super mutants then save to a new file name?
  6. Play smart, sneak in as close as you can, and aim/use vats rather than just spraying and praying like a noob.
  7. Have you looked at the tutorials regarding NPC's? If not, look here: http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Bethsoft_Tutorial_NPC_population
  8. It is fairly easy to mod everything about this game, but can be time consuming and frustrating when you aren't sure what to do or why something isn't working how you expected it too.
  9. Not to mention patience and creativity, then some more patience when stuff doesn't work. :)
  10. Not to be a jerk or anything, but those are reference id's, not "hex codes". Yes it is a hexidecimal number, yes it is a "code" of sorts. But it is the method for the game to refer to everything from items to characters to locations. Thanks for posting this though!
  11. Since most of the random encounters involve unique NPC's, you can trigger most of the events by using player.moveto <refid> in console (access console using ~). If you wanted to remove all random encounters, I would recommend looking into making a .esp using GECK where you have deleted/disabled all the unique NPC's in the random encounters.
  12. Vanilla - Fawkes, hands down. Mod - Amy Wong.
  13. Did you "install" the 1.5 update for GECK? Mine used to do the same thing when i tried loading multiple masters but after the update I have never had a problem. LOL never thought to check the .ini file.
  14. Have you looked for them using the archive manager included in FOMM? I would imagine both the models and textures would be in fallout3.esm somewhere since super mutants are in the vanilla install.
  15. If I understand what you are driving at, you are looking to add me more dialogue/backstory and possibly a few quests. You should be able to do both of those quite easily using FOSE and GECK from Bethsoft. Once you get the hang of the programs you can get a lot done in a reasonable amount of time.
  16. I'm not a pro and I have only moderatly used scripts, but i think the commands you are looking for would be along the lines of showinventory, additem and removeitem.
  17. I am unaware of a mod that does what i believe you are asking for. My best recommendation would be to play with GECK and see if you can adjust either the leveled NPC's behaviors or scripts. Then you can distribut your mod/plugin and get all the credit! :)
  18. Yeah, after you install GECK from bethsoft and import fallout3.esm you can browse to any NPC, use "edit bases" to change almost everything, then save your work as a .esp (plugin file). To use it in game, make sure you have activated your newly created .esp in either FOMM or Data Files.
  19. Terrible Shotgun, Lincolns Repeater, A3-21's Plasma Rifle
  20. Console commands: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_console_commands Quest Explanations and Guides: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_quests GOOGLE = PRICELESS! (use it next time before you post)
  21. HAHAHA I do the exact same thing! While LInolns Repeater packs more punch and has virtually no spread, it really comes down to how much 44 ammo you find or buy. For that reason, i never sell the repeater, but i use ol painless far more often
  22. Fawkes hangs out at the entrance to Underworld when he is not travelling with the player.
  23. LOL I have never heard of the game killing any NPC's from "starvation". *SPOILER* Whether or not you add Fawkes as a companion, the Enclave shows up and captures the player. If you did add Fawkes as a companion, you will find him fighting Enclave troops just outside the entrance (exit really) to Raven Rock. At that point you can either have him rejoin your party or not. If you choose not too add him, he will go to the entrance of Underworld and wait indefinetly. I do not recall if Fawkes is outside Raven Rock if the player did not add him as a companion prior to being captured. If he is not there, then he will either be in vault 87 somewhere or waiting for the player at Underworld. Hope this helps and best of luck Warkupo!
  24. You are most likely going to need to use FOSE to edit the dialogue, but everything else you should be able to do using GECK from bethsoft. FYI, you will get a lot more support and help if you post modding questions like these here: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showforum=288
  25. I had this problem for a while as well. The way I fixed it was by entering the rotunda or whatever the purifier room is from the second door. For some reason, that seemed to trip the animation sequence and the quest/storyline continued from there like normal. Hope this helps!
