    Stable game - Install ENB - CTD while exploring

    You mention you did not add any new mods, but out of curiosity did you remove any? Removing esps from you load order can cause lots of issues for saves. Have you tried for instance starting a brand new game at Helgen? If this doesn't work either, then we can count save game damage out of the question. I am suspicious about the enb working as a "fix" since as far as I am aware enbs simply don't fix game breaking issues like you are describing. Was there anything you installed at the same time you installed the enb the first time that might actually have been what helped fix the original problem? (Maybe the enb author's page had a helpful suggestion for skse plugins that reduced crash frequency, or an unofficial patch).

     

    Well, I had to enable Safety Load, the game was working fine with out it before.

     

    Then I had a bug (out of no where, just re-starting the game normally) where SkyUI had a weird bug (same as in this post http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1251248-strange-flashing-polygons-on-inventory-and-ctd/) and apparently it was a conflict or something with Safety Load, so I re-installed, and updated, SkyUI.

     

    I have tried a new game, and as soon as I leave the cave, I take a couple of steps, annnnd crash.

     

    I believe I was having a memory problem and enboost fixed it, at least, no more crashes for 2 months. No patches or anything, downloaded directly from the enb site and was using Insomnia ENB Frozen Vale with no problems up until this morning

     

    EDIT: Reverted again to Insomnia ENB Frozen Vale, crash...

    EDIT (2nd UPDATE): UNRESOLVED AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ENB

    I would like to thank everyone who helped, especially Tony, who was amazing and very patient, but I just can't get it to work

     

     

     

     

     

     

    EDIT (UPDATE): After a clean install, I had vanilla crashing in a new save before getting to Riverwood. After the help of some fantastic members here, I managed to somewhat stabilize my game and slowly add a few mods. Now the game crashes or freezes withing 3 minutes of loading (but at least vanilla is stable, unlike before). I'm running SKSE and ENB. If anyone can help I would be gratefull

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Ugh... here we go.

     

    So this morning I decided to install the realvision ENB on my game. I had no problem but since I choose the letterbox effect and the bars were asymmetrical, I reinstalled it normally, with out letterboxes.

     

    DISASTER

     

    Now, as soon as I walk around Skyrim, the game CTD (with or without ENB) and I can't load any save without Safety Load.

     

    I used to have a similar problem, but I fixed it by installing ENB

     

    I also did not add any new mods.

     

    I tried:

    Re-installing Realvision ENB with previous settings

    Re-installing ENB

    UN-installing ENB

    Re-installing ENB

    Run Loot just in case

    Reload previous saves to the changes

    Tweaking ENB settings.

     

    Really, I need some help here, I've been at it all day

    For note, I am using the guide, just reseted my game to vanilla and here I go...

    Yeah, my modding experience is with sims, thief, dragon age and mass effect on the pc, modded some console games too, but that's another story. Still learning Skyrim though

     

    EDIT: Ok, unistalled the latest version, installed the previous one and it's working! Moving on

     

    EDIT 2: Everything should be clean, going to test now~

     

    EDIT 3: umm, still crashing, this time on leaving Riften... what could be going on?

    There is a current issue that some people are having -- myself included -- where if you use the Sort button above the list of plugins in Mod Organizer, the load order isn't right. Lots of people are getting load orders that are arranged alphabetically. And some, like me, and getting load orders that are gobbledygook messes. I run LOOT through Mod Organizer, but I don't use the Sort button.

     

    What mod manager are you using? And are you running LOOT at all? Keep in mind that LOOT will want to look at your data folder, and if you're using MO, you won't have any mods at all in your data folder. So you'll have to run LOOT through MO and let MO trick LOOT into looking at your fake data folder.

     

    Yeah, and I probably made no sense, so if you have questions fire away!

    All your master files should be at the the beginning of your list. And are you using SKSE? I didn't see it and some of your mods require it, I'm pretty sure. Your really, really, really need to follow this guide. It's excellent:

    Also, depending on your graphics card, you might want to go easy on anything that is a re-texture. Especially if it re-textures large areas of Skyrim, such as plants and water. Plants and water are everywhere and always moving. Your computer has to render all that, and that uses up your computer's resources like its memory and so on. And anything that is an overhaul of major aspects of the game, such as lighting overhauls and weather overhauls, also cause strain to your computer. You end up hitting your memory limit and find yourself staring at your desktop.

    I think that's exactly what happened! I read that running LOOT might just fix the issue I was having, but I also hit the sort button in Mod Organizer and got one of those "gobbledygook messes" you mentioned xD

     

    *facepalm* and yes, I didn't run LOOT through the Mod Organizer, no wonder it didn't make any sense :teehee:

     

    And I am using SKSE, but it gave me an executable in MO not an ini... What could be wrong? Since I'm using two hard drives in my pc sometimes things can get a bit confusing.

     

    I'll take another look as soon as I'm able (and ready to slam my head on the keyboard again) and come back to you, thanks for the help!

     

    EDIT: umm, LOOT gets stuck starting as an executable from MO, is this not what you meant?

    Yes, it's one of those posts. So I've installed Skyrim little over a month ago and the mods were running smoothly. But since a few weeks I've got nothing but trouble with them, namely random crashes from a few hours interval to a few seconds, unable to load games, infinite loading screens, missing textures sometimes, sit anywhere first working, now crashing immediately, dual shead redux saying it's works but no left sword on hip. And don't get me started on the Dragonborn dlc glitches :wacko: So I've reinstalled the game twice and removed and added the mods back countless times now.

     

    Anyways, if anyone would be so kind to check my modest mod list since I usually mod but I'm new to Skyrim, and see what could possibly be wrong :cool: btw I'm running the latest, and if I'm not mistaken, beta version of SKSE

    TPF - Package Build Help

    Since there is no Mass Effect 1 topic I figured I went over to the closest thing that might actually get me help :rolleyes:

     

    I'm trying to re-texture the human male heavy onyx x armor to something that resembles me2 and me3 armor, and so far so good. I extracted the texture from an existing tpf mod here on nexus, altered what I wanted and now I'm having trouble getting it in the game.

     

    I have tried extracting the texture from the game, alter it, save with the same name and then building the package but it's not working either

     

    Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks~

    Well, I went back to the original electric green eye I was recolouring, changed the saturation of both the dawneye(12) and dawneye(12)_g and the only thing that changed was the intencity of the pink

     

    I also noticed that trying to colour black will come out as red, and the alpha layer instead of being black and white is black and red, don't know if that's relavant

    Hey guys~

     

    I just picked up a Skyrim mod for glowing eyes at http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21232 and decided to edit the texture in photoshop to get that colour I was after.

    So, I start up photoshop, do the recoulor and load it into the game, but instead of guetting a nice glowing white iris, I get this pinkish one - Fail.
