  1. Checking to make sure each content has the *.ba2 files. Because, this was my issue. You see, steam and Beth.net do weird things, this is not new. Sometimes, one or the other gets spectacularly out of whack. Case in point, I did a file verify with steam after a cc content install, and borked up my game. Now, luckily, I have another source where I can manage to get some of the files needed when steam and Beth net go off kilter. And you can tell when this happens during installation, as the download turns to an installed button in an eye blink with no 0-100% in between. A sure case that when you allow the game to resort the mods, it will ctd due to missing files. Not that it tells you of course. right click the game in steam > Properties > Local files tab and browse local files, open the data folder. You are looking for a single cc*.esl that lacks the companion *.ba2 files. These are the result of those "instant" installations. Once you ferret those singular *.esl files out and delete them. Your game will run just fine once again. I did this post because invariably, this issue is likely to happen again, and a record of what to look for is always a good idea. Results and errors will vary by machine and person. Hopefully this helps some people.
  2. This is similar to my problem at the moment, but my solution the F4SE thing was to simply not use it anymore. However, I'm currently in the midst of reinstalling the game because creatclub stuff weirded out again and I actually did a verify that started the ctd on Beth logo dance again... This has happened to me before, but I do not recall how I fixed it, but I think it has to do with the power armor again... Considering running the game with cc stuff for power armor removed, as I don't use it much anyway.... Apologies for dredging this up, but I felt it was the best option...
  3. I'm getting the same thing, however, when I try to change the staging folder to like the fallout nv data folder, it says "folder must be empty..." I shall refrain from expletives, but I am so annoyed with vortex.. It INSISTS on using my bootup drive for mod staging. This should rather be something that is left to the person installing vortex to decide. Not the program, especially if one downloads the custom location version of vortex. I am not happy.
  4. Something close to what happens with the pip-boy while in power armor. However, when one brings up what normally would be the pip-boy, two "holo-images" come up on the ui on either side of the screen. Leaving the center space clean while the pip-boy data is displayed respectively on left and right sides of the screen. Left side would have the item or text list, the right side would have the information portion of whats selected on the left. Please note that the map would always be where it appears normally, center stage. holotapes could be played via an attachment at the characters belt/waist, with contents being displayed much like the map. This would be an eyepiece of sorts that would fit the eyes category, and a mod to add to helmets. My thinking is that it could be a more beneficial reward for joining the Institute. After all, why not the Institute since after 200 years, CIT had to have managed to attain some pip-boys in the past. Institute could have also modified the pip-boy so that instead of weighing an arm down or having to use your hands [as far as being visible on screen with pip-boy] for navigation, the pip-boy would be controlled by "eye-movement and thought". Originally this modification would've been used for coursers as a way to augment targeting, but it was set aside in order to simply put everything into the head instead for efficiency purposes. Now Father sees it as a possible additional physical reward to you for joining the institute; after all, who wouldn't want to be rid of that 10 pound [or so] weight on their arm for something that could be used with a simple thought? Justification for this tech: Fallout 3, your pip-boy was nearly undetatchable from your person, this is a reasonable leap from the clunky arm tech to something clearly either Enclave or Institute level ingenuity. This is just an idea, I'm not a modder, but just thought I'd give an idea to the modders.
  5. Why did you seemingly discontinue the mod categories with the site redesign? I can't find anything that remotely looks like a "Here's mod categories for this game" link. I like organization. this new layout seems really disorganized. I do apologize if I'm posting here wrongly, but since you locked the site redesign topic.... Yeah. I'll stick with the old lay out as long as its around, thanks!
