  1. So, I'll just reply to myself... This seems to be a rank issue, so as I gain ranks, this problem goes away.
  2. I have played a few hours, but now I'm missing a lot of those beautiful hats and headbands in the customization menu. They still exist in my character pool, but not in my savegame. Any ideas? They existed when I started my campaign and exist in a previous savegame equipped to my soldiers.
  3. I had the same problem. It turned out to be a SMIM-related problem. I had installed the Ultimate HD Fire effects which comes with two files, one for the effects and one for SMIM compatibility. I installed both, which I shouldn't have. I removed them both, re-installed only the HD Fire spell effects and no more purple campfire. Here's the Nexus link to the Ultimate HD Fire mod, which by the way is great: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28642
  4. This is probably not the right place for debating how to get a job, but still, here's my 2 cents: I've been recruiting IT people for many years (been a IT manager and such for 10 years) and I've been holding some 200 interviews. In my not-so-humble opinion, paper merits are one thing, but personality and attitude counts for a lot more than you might think. For instance, there are several posts in this thread that would make me disqualify the posters from any job I have to offer, regardless fo formal qualifications. I won't be pointing any fingers, but in general, you might consider using a more polite and respectful language. What I see, is that many people who wouldn't dream of being impolite IRL, are using a very arrogant and aggressive attitude on the net. Believe me, if you keep that up, it will color your IRL behaviour too. Basically, my point is, if you really want a job, be a little more careful with how you express yourself. (Oh, and someone thought we should include the country when posting: I work in Sweden, for a multinational IT company.)
  5. OK, that seems simple enough, in theory... I tried to be a bit more structured in the placing of satellites, I guess that's where I went wrong. I'll try this strategy and see how it works. Thank you!
  6. I played through the entire game on 'Normal / Iron man' and never lost a council member. Matter fact, I think normal is too easy ;( working on Classic / Iron man now and the combat is kinda ridiculous, at least the accuracy and critical hit rate of the aliens is silly high. So, basically, I suck. That being established, what now? What am I missing? Do you have a brief summary of your strategy? I'm running through all missions without any causalties. I am still using the original 12 soldiers, so I have no problem with the shooting. It's the building and researching that baffles me...
  7. I've played this game again and again but there's no way I can find a tactic that actually keeps my council intact. Either I suck, or the game is designed to work like this. I'd like to know which is which... I'm thinking that whatever tactic I use, I can't get enough satellite coverage to make sure that I intercept UFO:s in time to stop the panic from spreading. Or does someone have a decent tactic that actually works? I'm confused... :-(
  8. So, here's my situation. I've tried to play the game on "Normal", but I'm using this mod: http://xcom.nexusmods.com/mods/5 which I'm thoroughly enjoying. The only problem I have is that I can't beat the game... Now, I'm a fairly experienced gamer, but I can't keep the panic level down. I ruthlessly sell all my stuff so I can buy satellites (detect and kill UFO:s so I can reduce panic), but after two months, at least one country has left the council. Another month and at least two more has left and I'm stuck because I can't buy enough satellites. Basically, I think that perhaps the "marathon mode" is broken, which is suggested in this mod: http://xcom.nexusmods.com/mods/7 Does anyone concur, or do I just suck? Do I really need to skip the "second wave" options and the rebalancing mod, despite that I LOVE to play the game with those?
  9. I second that. It would be a good idea. Just make the Skyranger expensive enough, so it takes some effort to build one.
  10. I also get the "MFQuest reboot" all over my log. Does anyone know from which mod (if any) it originates?
  11. Well. Since the game marks a place as discovered, there must be a command for it. I just need to find out what that command is.
  12. Yup. I know about the tmm command. I want the command for just a specific marker. It has to exist, since the game does that when you discover a city. The main reason for not using your suggestion, go to each city in turn, is that by the time I've done that, even if i try to avoid encounters and stuff, I'm at level 12-15 after a full lap around each city. I want to be able to fast travel to the main cities without having discovered all the rest of the locations in between.
  13. Here's my idea: I want to create a bat file that simulates having escaped from Helgen, initiated all Guild Quests and discovered all major cities. I've found the commands for setting the quests, but I fail to find a command for making a city discovered and your map marker FastTravel-able. How do I do that? Any help would be extremely helpful. One work-around would be to just use the coc command to teleport once to each city, but that's too crude.
  14. OK, that takes care of the perks. What do I do about the skills and levels? Anyone?
  15. Here's what I wish to do: I'm at level 50. I want to re-create my character, remove all levels, skills and perks. Then I want to add all 50 levels, skills and perks back again, so I can rebuild my lvl 50 fighter to a lvl 50 mage (just an example), without having to re-do all quests. Can I do that with console commands or mods somehow?
  16. 'Thanks, I'll try this. Since I payed a fortune for double uber-graphics cards, I should use them... Hey! This was a great tip! This made a big difference and still no lag! Great!
  17. 'Thanks, I'll try this. Since I payed a fortune for double uber-graphics cards, I should use them...
  18. Here's my issue: When I enter the map, my mouse won't work. I can't move the cursor around. When holding down M2 I can move the cursor, but I can't remove a custom marker. If I hold M2 and move cursor to the custom marker and double-click, I get the "move, leave, cancel" selection, but I can't select anything! Since I can't select any alternative, escape and tab won't work, I have to shut down Skyrim everytime. This is majorly weird. Any suggestions?
  19. Thank you, I'll try this one too. Those freckles are sooooo cute! Nawww...
  20. Hmm. That looked somewhat better, but caused a lot of ... err... stop and go? un-smoothness? (Sorry, my English vocabulary just fell out of my brain...)
