How close did you need to get to the dragon to realise it wasn't friendly?
-
Nope, just like real life. In a lot of cases they draw weapons and tell you not to come closer.Bandits just attack Guards carry banner shields and certain factions wear types of armour. Once you get the zoom on your bow it becomes easier to tell

No. This is my first TES game and I fell into it pretty easily. In fact I "clicked" with this game while I was in riverwood before I even went to whiterun because I explored. You need to explore to enjoy the game thats the key. Id did however take me awhile to figure out the classless system through a lot of trial and error though...Finally got a good character. For you. However multiple people besides me posted it took a little while to get into Skyrim. That it clicked right away for you is great. But I really didn't get drawn in until well after I'd killed my first dragon, and then it was like a black hole... I'll repeat, Morrowind, I was hooked from the beginning. FO3 I was hooked immediately. Oblivion I was going strong early and faded out the first time. Skyrim... well... Skyrim I actually 'beat' without taking an extended break. Once it gets it's hooks into you... it pulls hard. Mmmmk I'm glad I have a little thread to document my downfall. I've done a 180. I love it!!! RPing is great. I really wish there was a point to cooking though, WTB a hardcore mode Gonna spend more time understanding professions tomorrow Funnest thing so far. Guy with arrow still stuck in head can't find me in the shadows "Must have been my imagination" "So where'd that arrow come from??? Most annoying thing. Travelled half way across Skyrim exploring and found a cool little cave. Ventured down and down and down and found a master Vampire. He was wearing sweet Elven armour. Thanks for that!! Decided to head back to Windhelm to flaunt my new doodads in front of the common folk and right on the edge of Windhelm is a f***in Dark Elf thief who tried to rob me wearing my exact same armour!!! Where were you 3 hours ago??? First hax, You can get a constant stream of arrows by standing next to the target dummy in Dragon's reach ninjaing arrows as the guards shoot them :D Dragons need to be 'arder' than Giants. Thats all kkthxbb!!

Roleplaying a windowlicker? After they asked 100 people and the survey said your head was gonna roll? Who follows the Imperial?? In other news, yeah I'm kind of getting into it now. Got a story going on. Kind of an Arya Stark type deal. After Ulfrek killed the King and my father was killed as his friend. I managed to escape but got mixed in with prisoners, which is why my name isn't on the list. Cut my hair short and threw on some rags. Gotta hide!!! Even made my character smaller in the console. Not a child but somewhere in between :D

You are likely more suited to ego shooter. If all you expect from a video game is a lot of killing, then yes Skyrim is likely not for you. faifh has summed it up, and in curiously diplomatic terms as well. ....I'd have just pointed out you sound like a twitchy psychopath. Lol I'm really not. I did get a little ticked off though and and let some blood run when that old lady in Riverrun hired thugs and said "it was ok to kill me" cause I stole a basket :D

Thanks for the input guys. I'm gonna give it another go today and I feel quite excited about it based on some of your ideas. I did try the whole wandering thing before but I always ran into some monster that pwned me so I assumed it was a level thing and I had to stay more on track. I favourite game is Fallout 3 and am currently playing Fallout New Vegas and I do RP in those. I usually play the good guy though. If I do bad deeds I play away for a little while and cant get it out of my mind and it makes me sad so I have to go back and do it properly. I'm so soft like that. My current play through is the first time I've really gone at being a bad guy and I'm quite enjoying it. I think my main problem is that a lot of the dialogue is quite boring but with Fallout its broken up by going out and head-shotting some bad guys to vent. When you get back your fresh for more chat. I don't really get drawn in by the combat. It's really just wild swinging until someone's arm falls off. Like I said. I'm gonna try fresh today and see what I come up with :D

I know that Skyrim is supposed to be pretty legendary and I can see glimpses of that. The backdrops and graphics are awesome. The music is great. I can't get into it. I havn't played the previous Elder Scrolls games so I came into this one fresh. I got the game way back the day it was released and played for a couple of days then left it. I had the game sitting there installed and never once felt the need to play it. Now I am getting into the whole modding thing. I have one in production for FONV which is going really well but I figured I needed to know the game before I could properly figure out what it needed. I'm having a torrid time with it and I find it really boring. I just finished the first village and did the first dungeon and am headed to Whiterun but I just can't seem to care about the story, my character or anyone'd dialogue. I manage to go about 20 mins before I have to slaughter the whole village for entertainment then reload the save before I did it and carry on. Why can't I get into this game? I really really want to and this kind of era is exactly the type of stuff I've been interested in for half my life!!

Revamping Ghostdancers Motorcycle Travel System
worldofscotty replied to adman85's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
It will be fine. None of the work is anything other than adjusted Fallout data so its owned by Bethesda If the guy cared he would have replied so other than pissing him off for using his stuff you've nothing to worry about -
That's amazing thanks so much!!

Aaaaaand I'm back again. Is there any way to get the old faces of an NPC in FO3 to put them in FNV? I had planned to write down every single face advanced number which I did but the sliders self adjust so by the time I had done like 5 sliders the first one is in an entirely different place. (or any way to stop those sliders self adjusting) Thanks

With Patrols? Theres a great simple Tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSWkhp-gORw

Cracked it! It does use extra markers to find the best route to its destination so you have to add enough extra markers to make sure you stay on track. Also I was saving along the route and updating it so it wasn't updating my new tweaks leaving me dumbfounded. Some new lessons learned here :D I am still interested in the relevance of normal xmarkers since it has been advised to use them but I havn't seen a single one actually used by the devs yet
-
I have my Xmarkers all the way down and they are all linked to one another The NPC's patrol route specifies these markers and it does end up where it is supposed to end up but its taking random other xmarkers along the way. For example at the bottom of Mohave outpost where the ants scuttle back and forth from the dead giant radscorpion. I have my marker closer than that one on the way to Nipton but it wont stop from hitting that one. Is there a priority on Xmarker headers?
-
More noob issues I think. I've only been modding for 2 days though. I have my NPC moving along Xmarkers and Xmarker headers no problems. My patrol will be a very large one. Like the whole map large. The issue I'm having is trying to stop my NPC from hitting random markers along the way and just heading to specific ones as it keeps wandering off the roads and not going direct. It doesn't make any sense to me that my marker is closer with a radius of 0 meaning it has to be passed directly through but it's being skipped to walk off road to a different marker I'm sure it's very simple but.....
-
Yeah it worked great. Nah I really don't want them to be pickpocketed. I noticed that issue prior. Thanks again all for the help. I'm very new to all this. Onwards to the next problem :D

Thanks for the help. I'm still working on this though. You can't set humans to not open gates like you can creatures easily If I enchant their armour to 0 movement speed then they cant pick up their gun when it inevitably gets shot out of their hands. As they aren't on respawn this is permanent. The faction thing didn't work. I set the gate to an entirely different faction but having the key in inventory means they can auto open it I took the key from their inventory and they could no longer open the gate so I am trying to work on making them not have the key bit drop the key when they die. I think it needs to be a leveled as right now it is not on the list
-
I'm working on a mod. I wont go too in depth as it's not necessary. Basically I have a gate. On the gate are two guards armed to the teeth. The gate can be opened with a key and the gate I set the gate the same faction as the guards and the guards drop the key to the gate. When I attack one he pulls out his weapon and begins to run about shooting at me. 9 times out of 10 him or one of the other local militia run through the gate opening it while attacking. Other than moving the gate or the guards is there any way to stop this from happening as I really want the guards stood at the gate if possible. Ideally perhaps the guards stay completely static and shoot no matter when I go Thanks in advance
