Are there some historical inconsistencies?
worldofscotty replied to sgman1's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Have to disagree a little. There is a history because the games have progressed through different eras with each showcasing massive amounts or information to drag you into the experience. It's not a fast paced action game where it wouldn't matter so much. It's an RPG so you assume the role of a person in this world. Some people including myself take this to extreme levels at times. For me this is a huge part of me playing and enjoying. I hadn't played any of the previous games and found Skyrim slow and boring until I got into the role playing side of it. I think it's a huge failure on their part if their world is inconsistent. It would be somewhat understandable if all the games were back to back in the same time period and parts of lore never featured, only mentioned in books etc but not actual content from previous games like the OP mentioned. -
There's about a 500 year evolutionary difference between muskets and semi-automatic rifles though

I'd probably own an Inn. I've never been much of a follower so I wouldn't be a guard or a member of a guild. I don't like being told what to do. I'm a nightclub manager in real life and I really love my work so that's probably my spot. I think I'd prefer the safety of walls too so one of the cities. Village life would be too quiet for me. I like hiking so maybe an explorer but even in real life I get a little nervous in woods and stuff by myself. That added to the realistic possibility of stuff jumping out on me wouldn't be something that interests me

That's a bold statement. I hear the sound of Willow inscribing your name on a bullet and inserting it into Beauty (New Vegas) It's the best Skyrim follower by a landslide That said this is still in the very early stages and if it keeps going in this direction it's going to be really special, it already is amazing tbh. I still love this guy. I get the feeling I'm supposed to strongly dislike his bad attitude but in a world of cardboard cutout people he is the best option for a friend :D I've taken to calling people fetchers in real life btw. Every time he screams 'fetchers' and runs off I just chill and wait for him to come back with scalps. -
Running speed isn't the same. If wolves chase me they always catch me. I have to jump over rocks and stuff to get away. Also humans don't have more stamina than a lot of creatures such as the ostrich. Your talking about sprinting not jogging. In Skyrim you can jog indefinitely. Also kitted out in workman's leather boots, shields and weapons your lucky you can move at all let alone outrun deer. I do agree though. Enemies don't lose Stamina and Magicka in traditional ways like we do. Casting spells and sprinting they seem to be able to keep on doing. You have to drain them to remove it. I'd like to see a modder tackle this.

Make sure you get permissions from the mod authors before doing that. Your never gonna get that done. It would basically meaning noone will ever need to go to the original mod authors page.

Yeah I seen that on my searches. Todd Howard specifically promised 7000 steps. it was a big deal to him and that he would count them himself. I got linked to this video which is stupid but really made me chuckle :D

Yeah deffo to High Hrothgar. Confirmed from the nice lady here
-
Oh never actually thought about that. However this was completed with a custom Epic Elf race scaled to 0.87 so it would be less steps with a larger race such as a Nord. Nord being the obvious choice for where the legend began as it was built by Jurgen Windcaller.

I hate when questions like this get asked because I'm the sort of person who absolutely has to have the answer. After much google searching I couldn't find anything anywhere based on actual footsteps so I decided to set about doing this. Bear in mind I really actually wanted to prove that there were indeed 7000 footsteps as I am a massive fan of the lore and would love for this to be the true number. The most accurate way would be to actually count footsteps one by one but this is tedious. I started out doing this but got bored. I counted 1000 footsteps though. Left my horse and companion there and started again. I ran to this point with a timer going. Approximately 2.05min for 1000 steps. I then ran the rest of the way to High Hrothgar front door. It took a total of 6.10 mins so there are approximately 3000 footsteps from the base of the stairs up to the front door. (I know it is assumed that the meaning is actual physical stone steps but we established around 700 so I wanted to try another meaning hoping for a solution)

Nah I didn't complete that quest. I did part ways cause I planned to leave him at our new house while I ran off alone and did something but when he got all moody I just reloaded to before. I then had him 'relaxing here' outside my house where I made food and sat by the fire. He was using the tanning rack so he was working then. After we went inside the house and I had him relax there. He lay on the bed and went to sleep. I did the same. Slept for 8 hours. Then another hour for autosave and turned the game off. When I came back he stopped following orders. I have the game set to a timescale of 3. Maybe having him 'hang around here' for 8 hours straight caused the problem? -
Uses for "Clear Skies" outside of the two obvious ones

If your using Frostfall you'll appreciate it. -
It looks similar to something Warriorkeke would produce. Perhaps get in touch with him and see if he is interested in adapting it into his larger mod

LE any mod that stops NPCs from entering my house?
worldofscotty replied to mrolympia78's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
If it's them appearing in your house when chatting use http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/746 Doesn't eliminate the issue exactly but will reduce this happening dramatically -

It's basically like asking a road worker to dig up a road with a pickaxe when there's a jackhammer sitting right there When the Xbox has eye candy like this we will talk And sure, graphics aren't everything I agree. The question is though what do you feel is everything? Cause I can guarantee that there's a mod for it! Does it really matter whether you are installing and fiddling with mods or playing the game though. As long as your mind is stimulated and your having fun then the end result is still the same.

Having a problem with him. he has stopped listening to me when I say wait here or hang out here. He just continues to follow me. Anything I can do to turn him around? Also part ways doesn't work. All the dialogue is fine and he agrees to head home but then continues to follow. I remember there was a similar problem with UFO in the early stages but don't know how they fixed it -
The game isn't great but the world they created is great. The games potential is great. Mods realise that potential making the game great. As for steam. Despite your hatred for them, they are an excellent distribution company. The work they do with the indie community which would really struggle to survive otherwise is amazing. That aside I don't really know what the issue is with Skyrim and Steam? You load your game and install updates via another piece of software. A large amount of the community including myself are still playing on max settings with tons of graphical enhancement mods on top so it's not a PC resource issue. What is the actual issue?

This is amazing. I love him. I'd like to see him interact with other companions like Meeko etc. Early days I've been waiting for someone to come along and make a real companion. I was quite Sad to hear that llamaRCA wasn't likely to make another Willow. I need someone I can talk to and who makes themselves heard as I venture about. Thank you for this. -
Skyre is massive and easy

Good news. I've had the latest version since he uploaded a couple of days before he took it down though so I've never really been without it lol
-
Decided to bump this one. We are quite a way further down the road now and I reckon it's much more doable at this point. Anyone capable and willing? Seems quite a lot of people are interested in this

Most crashes and freezes are caused by the game looking for items in places that are no longer there. For example if you keep adding new mods and removing old mods it will make the game more and more unstable. The sad part is the speed at which awesome mods come out makes it very hard to just stick to your guns and ignore them. If your crashing loads try starting over with the exact same mods and almost guaranteed your crashing will be close to completely gone. That said some mods are incompatible with one another but they are mostly self explanatory. don't have 2 mods that do close to the same thing and read the information on compatibility on each mod. Also running crossfired AMDs btw and I'm not crashing on this or any other game so I'd say that's probably a Myth. I've never known a low watt power supply cause a crash. They usually just blow up from strain

Yeah one of the first things I do is to turn off the compass entirely and remove the crosshairs. Makes the game much more immersive. One of your mods must be turning the compass off as this pref file is the control for that option. A mod loaded after the pref file must be overruling it. Are you using NMM. If so make sure not only are the mods installed but also the plugins? Download manually this iHUD and open it to a new folder and manually remove all the files and settings using these files as a reference Verify the integrity of the data files
