  1. In response to post #24666029. As stated in the OP, Dark0ne wants to keep the Nexus free. While this doesn't directly impact your shares idea, it's worth keeping in mind. The main issue is that mods are a copyright nightmare. Having a public company hosting these mods simply wouldn't work, as the mods themselves are meant to be non-profit. There is also the issue I hadn't considered until I read a comment in this thread, that Blender/Photoshop and such might be non-commercial. Paywalls happen because people know that their mod will get bought for £1 a shot or something, so why release it free? This kills off the (good) free mod base over time - and as we've seen, Valve takes ownership of the content uploaded to the Workshop. So the paid mods may also die off, leaving very little. The community will break up/already has over this issue, due to the fundamental conflict of people refusing to allow paid mods. I am against it, although I do understand why modders want to get paid. That's fair enough.
  2. Ditto. Can log into Skyrim Nexus and the forums, but can't log into the New Vegas Nexus. It refreshes as if it did log in, but I can't do any account stuff. It also doesn't say I've logged in. The only response I can get back from the site is if my password is typed in wrong - then it tells me it's wrong. Which is really helpful when I can't log in at all.
  3. The main quest was definitely less interesting than Oblivion's. Alduin had a massive build up and was beaten by a guy who could learn the thu'um faster than everyone else and was fortold by some reclusive soldiers a few hundred years before. In Oblivion, you were a wheel in the machine. You stopped, it all stopped. The way Alduin was defeated, it seemed as if anyone could really have done it - Ulfric? You teach him the shout and he'll do it for you.
  4. Wow, thread necro. Anyway, I had the word wall not noticing me and the dodgy vampire lord transformation. CUSTOM RACES! They were my problem. Along with save bloating >.< I restarted and am living happily with a faster game and fixed issues. And I'm an Imperial. Which sucks.
  5. I don't recognise that effect at all. Maybe Soul Cairn? What mods (load order) and DLC etc? Can't help past that.
  6. Sorry to break it to you, but this happened to me. Save bloating is an arse. I started Dawnguard and 30 minutes later my save had gone from 9MB to 36MB. I had to restart, unless you want to try going back to a past save. It sucks, but a new game runs so much nicer :) 50MB would cause 5 minute load screens.
  7. Do you mean a lighting issue? Textures? Do you mean dark or actually invisible (see through)? A bit more info would help
  8. That's better than mine (it's quite dated with 4GB DDR2 and 2.8GHz) and can play on high-ultra with an ENB. GTA 4 is perfect running (ENB as well), only it's a pretty shoddy console port with mediocre draw distance/LOD and the textures are... bearable. I'd wait for GTA V.
  9. As far as I know, display cases aren't really that functional. You can open and drop stuff into them, but apart from that they are pretty crap. And when I did drop some gems into one, I came back the next day and they were scattered across the floor o_O
  10. Verify the game cache. That will download any missing files.
  11. http://i.imgur.com/DHpnh.jpg For reference. Help would be massively appreciated, as she is the best NPC in the game so far with the most character.
  12. I meant the Hearthfire Unofficial Patch :) Try a new character and see if it still happens. Check your save file size (My Documents/My Games/Skyrim/Saves). With me, I started again for Dawnguard as my saves bloated from the average <15MB to 35MB. This can cause issues so its worth checking it. EDIT : This guy has your problem http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/802689-cannot-attack-dawnguard-dlc-with-swords/ Just thought you'd like to know
  13. You can easily just copy the Skyrim directory onto a USB and go from there, but NMM will lose it's contents in the Mods tab. You can probably just copy the NMM folder and Skyrim to be safe. Also, what's a "retail" copy of Skyrim? Mine's in the same location as yours (same Games directory and everything!) and my Skyrim is a Steam version.
  14. You're lucky you can even be a VL with a custom race. My Temptress got abandoned and I started anew because even with the Vampire flags set in the CK she wouldn't change at that stage. Harkon just kept yelling at me to change - the game acted like I had. As in I couldn't open the menus and go 1st person, but my appearance hadn't changed.
  15. Remodeling the wings is probably not that hard. A few pulls in Blender with the right tools and they could be bigger. Or even Dragon wings. That might be possible if they are still rigged to the skeleton of the Vampire Lord.
