  1. I would have to agree with the bland and stiff animations. I love Skyrim and have put in countless hours of game play so far.The story is awesome as well! A great choice of GOTY but I would have to pick BF3 :D. I can’t believe the amount on content that is in this game, the world is massive and the terrain is wonderfully done, there are a bunch of different weapons and armor. It is one of my favorite games so far and has a great replay value! There is just so much to do its unreal. My only gripes are the stiff and overall bad combat animations and lack of combat flexibility. When fighting the dragons they fly like they are on rails, sliding through the sky rather than gliding. Yes it’s still fun to fight them but when you see this giant beast flying through the air and abruptly turn like nobody’s business it drags me out of the immersion and I think “wow that was lame”. After they land on the ground it’s awesome. I think it’s awesome you guys added the finishing and I love the decapitation, but if you are going to add something like that at least take some additional time to make proper sounds and animations. When performing a finishing move on a bear with a war hammer he gets jabbed in the mouth and yet it plays a sword through flesh sound. It sounds completely out of place. A slit throat animation shows the guy getting the top of his head scalped. Maybe it’s just how my system runs the game, this is a console port after all and every PC is different. The combat is not exciting, it’s rather bland. Block, Swing, Magic, Shoot, that is all there is to it. . . I was hoping we would get just a little more on the combat side. That’s one of the main game play aspects about the game right? How about at least being able to kick? Your legs are the most powerful part of your body yet I can’t kick people or push them away. How about a way to parry or dodge an enemy attack rather than letting the random generation choose for me? How about being able to get around shields? All you can do is do a power swing and make them stagger, there was some great swordsmanship back in those days and people had talent and where able to do amazing stuff. Why not try to capture some of that in the combat? Could have different sword play styles? At least something more than swing/block maybe there could have been something like a toggle different styles as simple as offensive and defensive. Offensive would decrease armor rating but add too overall damage with a % chance to get around enemy shields. Defensive would increase overall armor rating but decrease overall damage, it would also add a % chance to parry/dodge an enemy attack. I knew these things where not going to be in the game but maybe if you read this you will think about them and at least raise the question about additional game play. I would have been completely happy if there was a little less content and better combat game play and animations, those are the main aspect of the game and seem to be lacking. I’m enjoying the game because the sheer amount of content and makes up for the lack of combat, I just wish it was the other way around. I have faith there will be allot of mods that will fix a few of my gripes. Just bringing more discussion to the table.
  2. OP, defenatly look at Sandboxing, here is a link to some information. I have not don’t it but there is a ton of good information out there. http://www.overclock.net/t/133001/info-how-to-protect-your-pc-using-sandboxing
  3. It boils down to the animations, There should have been a hint/delay before he/it moves and stops. Do you just abruptly stop walking or do you sort of slow down?
  4. I enjoy the hell out of the game and can see myself playing it over a few times, but I do have some complaints (doesn’t everyone?). Warning longwinded post!! I love the additional content, tons of weapons armor and the likes. Better magic support than oblivion. Landscape is great, cities are not copy paste. Lots a dungeons and areas to explore meet new things and kill them. basically loving the rich story and tons of content! BUT! There are a few drawbacks. I really wish they would have put some time into improving gameplay! Oblivion was a good stepping stone into this type of gameplay, but it had rather basic controls with block (take damage anyways) and swing. I was hoping for more. For instance, I would like to be able to kick stuff. That would be a very nice added feature, it is a viable option for combat. When I swing my two handed war hammer at anything it shoots a little dust plays a sound and nothing moves. Really? I just tried to break a glass bottle with a war hammer and it barley even moved. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could break stuff, or at least even hit it? As it stands all you do is block swing magic. Maybe they could have incorporated something that would allow you do dodge or parry the enemy? When blocking and a guy hits my shield with a sword why does it damage my health, he just hit a huge piece of steel. I would like to be able to block a good portion of an incoming stream of magic with my shield, seriously its hitting my shield not my person. Shoot at my feet if you want to damage me. I want there to be a way around shields, as it stands there is swing and power swing. Surely they could have thought of something to add to the combat to make things a little more interesting? Toggle different fighting styles maybe? As it stands combat is rather bland. They really need to learn how to animate things and people to bring them to life, I have seen lesser games with better animations. The first time I was fighting a dragon I was like SWEET! After I saw it flying on railroad tracks and the abrupt and unnatural movements it made it drug me out of the immersion and it became eeh. After it was on the ground it got better. People had better facial expressions in HL2. Seriously better animations please, it kills immersion. While I love the finishing moves, the animation for everyone I have performed suck. I straddle the dragon and proceeded to carve up its eye and stab my blade next to his head. . . Sneak attack from behind with a dagger results with the rear top of the guys head being slashed. Basically I think the animations are rather crappy. Finishing move on the bear with a war hammer results with the bear trying to eat it, yet it plays the sound of a blade slicing something. . . really? I still like the game allot even with my list of dislikes. It’s always easier to point out what is wrong rather that what is good.
  5. Ya after reading it was a glitch I continued on and when it leveled up it went back to normal. Thanks for all the help guys!
  6. Steam is just as intrusive as Origin when it comes to gathering your information. . . Neither are intrusive if you use peerblock. Seriously though, if you turn that on, then nothing on-line on steam will load. Same with origin. Of course, the big question is: Why the hell are you worried when you're using likely Windows Update anyway? lol I thought you where the OP. . . DOH! I was simply pointing out if he doesn't want Steam to gather and sell his info run a sandbox program. I have Origin running in my Avast sandbox, weather or not its actually working is another question. He probably didn't read the terms & conditions for his copy of Windows as well. eeh whatever. I have nothing to hide but I prefer to keep anything and everything out of my privacy because its none of their damn business, if some of it gets through then oh well.
  7. Steam is just as intrusive as Origin when it comes to gathering your information. . .
  8. Next time read the back of the box. It will save you $60 Edit: There are also some programs that will allow you to run steam in "Sandbox".
  9. All you need it to choose the perk and you will be able to smith it anywhere. I can smith everything, every forge I have been too I have been able to smith everything. Even if I don't have the required material I still see it. Try leveling your skill up one more time I think you have encountered a glitch. Currently trying to find Ebony Ingots so I can forge a Daedric set.
  10. That is the first thing I did and there is nothing that is affecting that skill. Thanks for the help though.
  11. Ok, I have been playing as a tank with 2 handed and all that great stuff. I leveled Two Handed up to level 59. When viewing the skill list the Two handed skill is showing a RED level 25, when I zoom in and look at the perks I can choose it says lvl 59 and such. I have contracted 5 diseases and went to the temple and cleansed myself several times and it has had 0 affect. Its starting to piss me off, there is no information as to what in the hell is going on. Has my skill really been reduced to lvl 25??? Why was my skill cut to lvl 25??? The lack of information is pissing me off. I want this game to tell me WHY it is slashing my damn skill level!!! If its from a disease then fine but tell me that's whats happening! If there is a way to fix it I would love to. I have stripped my guy of EVERYTHING down to the nude with absolutely nothing on him so I know its not an item doing it. I would appreciate any and all help! Thanks!
  12. Was this from day 1? Or did it only seem to happen after you modified your stats? Maybe something happened when you changed your stats causing something to go wrong? Just for experimentation try starting another game with 1 Agility, then 10 Agility (without Consol), and see if there is a difference?
  13. Maybe Agility has an effect on how fast you reload? Maybe you can do a test to see?
