I don't think we are not meant to jump like we could as a Wood Elf, but still, it is pretty weak in FO3. The jump hight can possibly be changed in the scripts, or maybe the race menu. FO3 has a lot of no go zones that Oblivion did not have, so high jumping is not as necessary in any case. -
Have you read the Read Me that comes with FOMM ? Or the Help in the program ? If so what specifically are you having problems with ? If you are new to mods then look through the pinned threads that apply to installing mods.

If it's music then - Fallout 3 / Data / Music - there are sub-folders in here. You can put your music in them. It works best to have sound clips instead of whole songs, as often you will change locations too frequently to hear a long song.

Win 7 won't solve your problems (but an unavoidable thing long term). I had more trouble getting FO3 running properly (not freezing) than I had with my XP machine (mere black screen crashes). I don't know if the 'flawed bit' would not get used just because the whole stick is not being used in that micro second. Very possible, I would think. Crap in = crap out. (or is that crap out = ?). If the RAM showing errors it needs to go. You may be able to RMA the RAM . Several brands have lifetime warranty. I don't think using the Live disabler with FOSE is a good idea. Read the Read Me for FOSE. I am using neither, but did read something in the FOSE Read Me in relation to it turning off Live, Two things trying to do the same may cause a problem. -
This may be off track - but, I've had a couple of instances of save corruption. This leads to repeat crash issues that seem to occur at or very near the same place. This is different from 'random' crashes. In all cases the issue - crash on fast travel, entering building after fast travel, and crashing when saving. were fixed by rolling back to the previous save, or in some cases doing things like fast travel to another location and save again, and then reload and travel back (this worked when I started crashing when trying to enter a particular Metro). I try to keep about an hour between saves, but do a few extras after I have problems. I will always make a save to another slot after I complete the problem task (entering building, fast travel etc.) then another 5-10 min on, or just after I finish a task (inventory management, dialog etc). I can generally get three hours w/o a crash if the saves stay clean. Why not keep your mod zips ? Save a lot of time downloading again.

All esm's at the top. Then esp's - Fallout 3 esm at top followed by unofficial patch esm. Next the esm's for the DLC's, followed by esm's from some mods. Then the patch esp's. Beyond this, the arrangement of the esp's has to do with what they change, and what may come latter that may want to change the same thing. There are instances where more than one mod interacts with something in the game. In this case the mod that makes the change that you want to prevail should come below the other mods that may make a change to that object. This is one reason the patches come in early as they make many cosmetic changes that can be overwritten by another mod later without any issues (generally). Weather changes usually are best at the end of the list, and some script mods (good ol' Duke Patrick from Oblivion). Large mods that make many changes are, of course, going to create issues with mods that do similar things differently. If a large mod overwrites the small mod then the small mod should be removed, or possibly placed below the large mod, so it takes precedence over the large one. In which case you may, or may not, get crashes. Depending on how many variables there are.

Have you done the quad core ini fix ? bUseThreadedAI=0 change it to: bUseThreadedAI=1 Add another line after it and insert: iNumHWThreads=2 When you get the BSOD after you reboot, reboot again via windows. I found this helpful. It may only be because my machines are set to clear the page file on shutdown. This clears errors that may get written to the page file. TweakNnow PwoerPack 2009 is an app I just started using for this setting with Win 7. It should work with XP as well. I use Tweak XP on that machine for the same setting. This will make for longer shutdowns, but I reckon it is worth it. In addition, set your page file up to 1.5X your system RAM. Use the same setting for both min and max. This will keep your page file in a nice tight block instead of being scattered all over the drive as happens with system managed. Another thing I find occasionally helpful when I get a repeat crash in the same locale is to load and move around some, or into a new cell if it is safe to do so, and don't do what may cause the crash, and make a new save. Then I reload the new save.

That ffdshow fix is an interesting one. My game was locking up on my Win 7 machine and the ffdshow was one of the two major helps. The other was the use two instead of four core ini fix. What is really interesting about the ffdshow is that I did not have that codec (well I could not find it) so I installed the Win 7 codec pack (from MS). Then I did the ffdshow fix. Actually FO3 is already on the list with the new codec (it is a very long list), so you only need tick the box. So I'm now wondering if maybe the real fix (in my case) came from one of the other codecs that were installed in the pack. Whatever the case, my game runs very well now. I also turn the search indexing option off. This helped some as well (stopped freezing and started black screen crashing - baby steps) This was before the two fixes above. I also uninstalled Nero at this time as I read that someone else had success with that.

Is It Possible to Use Keyboard and Controller?

I haven't tried with FO3, but had no problem with Oblivion. I used to use the controller (Logitech) while on horseback, and my Stretegic Commander the rest of the time (replaced with G13). Everything is mapped to the keyboard. Things may be different now that the developers have all jumped in bed with MS and are using the XBox controller. I assume that is what you are using, but I would think it can be setup to use keyboard commands. If not then shame on both the developers and MS. You may be able to tell by what I said that I am a Windows Live hater. W Live - Bah Humbug ! If you have a Logitech controller you should have no problems - let the XB gather dust. -
You have to search and find ones you like. Use the browse categories selection to find the Armor and clothes pages . Hopefully there will be some Hi-res alternatives that you can use as replacers. If you don't find all of what you need you can 'extract' (copy) clothes from the Textures BSA and increase the resolution with The Gimp or Photoshop. You may get away without having to do normal maps and still get better looking outfits. Normal maps are a bit more trouble. Then, if you like you can release your Hi-res textures on the Nexus. To make replacers just put the new files in a folder that matches where the clothes/armor go in the BSA ie. - Data/Textures/Armor/1950'sstylecasual01/outfit01m , - outfit01f (female version). etc. I haven't looked closely, but there may also be an additional folder in some instances (m &f). Keep in mind that, as with NMC's stuff, this will stress the RAM more, and as the characters are moving, Hi-res clothes may lead to slowdowns more than static textures.

Body Art Textures question for Exnem Bodytype

A bit of an oversight on Exnem's part there. It looks like you are SOL. Any tat on the one will show on both arms. An unfortunate situation. The only way to fix it would be with a new texture, and a re-rig of the mesh. Unless there is a trick I have missed. If there is I'd like to know as well. -
Are you talking about the character you created at the start of the game ? If so yes. Do the steps mentioned by BP. His console command will bring you to the character creation screen. I am not sure about FO3, but with Oblivion you had to save before you clicked 'done' or you lost your stats. So I would suggest you try that. Also, back up your most recent save, or just make another in the same spot, so you can roll back if something goes wrong. GECK has various import options as well. You may also want to find a GECK tutorial to help you along.

Crash and burn (Or just crashing repeatedly)

legend - If mmm impacts on the areas where you crash more than others then it would seem to be the likely cause. Are you running the two cards in SLI, or using one as a physX ? It may be worth experimenting with their configuration. Either turning off the SLI (if that is doable), or the physX if that is what you are using. I too have the 195.62 with a GTX 260 and Win 7 - also a 8800GT on XP. Both computers had issues with vanilla FO3. I sorted out my Win 7 machine before starting into the mods, and things are still good (I used the XP machine the first week). There are still some black screen crashes, but this is a Bethesda game, and I do run the specs high. The Win 7 machine started as the worst offender with constant freezing. All is good now that I found the various fixes (Audio codec and drivers, dual core (on four core machine) fix to ini, were the majors). -

Just curious - I which instance does a mod actually overwrite a vanilla file? I always thought that they were safe and sound in the BSA's. Equally, 'replacer' does not actually replace anything as the file's in the Data folder only 'overwrite' the vanilla after the BSA's have been read when the game loads. The only things in the Data folder, aside from the BSA's, and esm before mods are the Music, Shaders, and Video folders. My understanding is that the only files that get could be permanently overwritten in the game are in these three folders. While new to FO3, many of the clothes and armor, meshes and textures in my Oblivion game are changed with 'replacer' files. (I've done a few meshes in FO3 as well ). That is to say no esp required. Just an Archive Invalidation via OBMM, and away you go. Don't like it anymore simply delete the file and the vanilla returns (do a AI just to be sure). -
BP - Now why didn't I think of that. Much better idea. Must be because I was focused trying to get an armor using a different body texture like I used to do in Oblivion. If you are still there BP maybe you can save me starting a new thread. It was so easy with Oblivion. I could use one of Growlf's armors just by naming the NiTri Strips and MaterialPropertiy in NifSkope to suit. For example - To use Growlf's Touching hands on the Yellow Champion I only needed to Call the lower body - 'greaves', and the materialproperties - 'material' - and I would get the Growlf body texture instead of my default 'Exnem'. I have tried all sorts of NifSkope combos with FO3, but it refuses to be 'tricked' into seeing the body as armor/clothing (when using a different body type), so I get stuck with the 'default' body texture. I have 'BABE' in at the moment, but wanted a to use few EXNEM, and other outfits on some of the NPC's as well. I have just looked at a few thread here and there that lead me to believe this is not so easily done in FO3.
