Once a DDS file has been saved in photoshop etc., what do we actually do with it? I'm assuming we can't simply just place it in the data/textures folder, or at least, when I do that there's no change.
-
Had a search but not seen any mention of this, ever. Essentially, there's a dollar sign before text. Not all text, just text such as "Load" etc. all have a dollar sign before them and read as $Load or $Save etc. etc. Anyone had a similar issue or even an inkling of how to fix this?

I quite like the Dragon set except the helmet ruins it, but agreed, definitely happy that Daedra is better. They look far better than they did in previous ES games, pretty much every set that's made it to Skyrim has been improved imo.
-
They're not broken in the slightest. I've got level 100-smithing and a full Daedric set and the game still doesn't feel broken. If it ever becomes too easy you just ramp up the difficulty, simples. The tree's are there to appeal to different people and playstyles, I know people who love lockpicking etc.

The Daedra set looks absolutely amazing. First post confuses me.

How am I supposed to kill Mammoths and Giants?
DyingAtheist replied to shuazoid's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You're not necessarily meant to be able to go melee with them at lower levels. At about 25 it's quite easy to go toe to toe with a giant and barely take any damage. -
And hello! I am...Kaeria, I believe, and my knowledge of alchemy so far extends to "Don't eat Jarrin Root"

I've found it a little disappointing too, but it definitely picked up towards the end of the quest line. Not as inventive or clever as Oblivions unfortunately but still don't think it was bad. As for levelling too fast, the higher you level the slower you level. You won't think it's too fast eventually. :)

The difficulty semi-scales. The game is definitely harder than Oblivion, but in a good way, simply knock down the difficulty or come back later if you're struggling.

Crafting armor and weapons has killed the game for me!!
DyingAtheist replied to danny13d's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I strongly suspect, as there has been in the past two games, that there will be unique and super-strong pieces of armour and weaponry throughout the game which will be better than your set. -
You can break into a house, kill everyone in there and you'd lose your bounty. 99% of the time.
-
It'll take at least 100 hours to complete every single quest, the game hasn't even been out long enough for this to be physically possible.

1/ Pretty much that. Go in, if it seems too hard it probably is. Give it a few tries of course but, you should realise if something is 1-2 hitting you. 2/ Ebony is OP for 28? I'm wearing Dragon Plate at 25. There's no real indicator, it's merely limited by what you're capable of making. If you think you're taking too much damage then it's time to upgrade. 3/ Any stables you find outside of cities, just have a look. You also get a horse during the Dark Brotherhood quests. 4/ I've done a finishing move on an enemy with 100% health so it's definitely not a %, assumedly just an amount based on the damage of your weapon. 5/ Not really. Figure it out as you go along, the game is meant to be open world and do what you want. You could be level 40 before even touching the main game. 6/ No. Just run in and try it out, exploration and experimentation are the name of the game. 7/ Well it's obvious isn't it? Pure melee character does Health/Stamina, pure magic character does Health/Magic with maybe a bit less health. Just use common sense based on what you feel you need. 8/ No idea. 9/ Dungeons and the like respawn after one month so give that a try. 10/ When nobody else can see you? Just use common sense. 11/ No. You can go anywhere at any level. There's no governing ideas just go where you feel is right. 12/ I can't imagine so, stamina is mainly useful for power attacks which obviously you don't use as a mage. However, you do need stamina for carrying items so unless you're going to use a spell to help (If there are any) then you'd need a little bit. 13/ No idea. 14/ No idea. 15/ You're always going to be denied access to quests for the opposite faction, just go for one and then do the other on your other playthrough. A lot of your questions revolved around difficulty and direction. Don't expect the game to hold your hand and just use common sense.

You definitely don't need to have encountered it, I've crafted a full Dragon set without ever facing anyone wearing Dragon.

You'll be fine going into any dungeon you want. Dungeons etc. are locked into a set of levels, so for example a dungeon will be a level 20-25 dungeon. If you enter the dungeon at level 25, the enemies will be level 25, if you enter at 20 the enemies will be level 20. But if you entered at level 10 then the dungeon would still be level 20. It's slightly based on your level but not completely.

Definitely Whiterun for me, not sure why but I love the feel of it and it's layout. Suppose it's the first bigger town you find as well so that helps.
-
You level a lot quicker at the start of the game than you do towards the end, it'll slow down, honestly.
-
I love the cities in Skyrim and they're far, far more impressive than any of the cities in Oblivion. Like someone said, each has it's own clear style and architecture, loads of people who actually talk to you as well as being visually impressive. I absolutely love Whiterun, not sure why.

The amount of Content, what do YOU think?
DyingAtheist replied to Shablo5's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Well, I'm 20 hours in and I've not really touched the Fighters Guild, Mages Guild, Thieves Guild, Main Storyline or the Stormcloaks. Just about the only thing I've done is some Dark Brotherhood. The game is huge, and should easily be 200+ hours. -
I don't see how Skyrim looks like a console port, yet the far uglier Oblivion doesn't. People let nostalgia ruin their view of a game far too much.
-
Any truth in the fact that companions will abandon you if you're a werewolf, for their own safety? Don't particularly want to lose Lydia after all this time.
-
There's one reason more than any other, the negative community is always far more vocal than the positive community. If you ask people about Call of Duty 99% of people you talk to will hate it, yet it's the biggest game franchise in history.
-
Not possible at this point, it will be possible when mods come out and will be one of the first things modded I imagine.
-
What's it like? Does it affect you when you're not in werewolf form?
-
I contracted the vampire disease at one point but got rid of it pretty swiftly. Never enjoyed the micro-management of being a vampire so definitely going werewolf. :)
