  1. All right. Thank You for the clarification. So I should be using MO instead of NMM? And if so do I need to use MO off of a fresh Skyrim install or can I go from where I'm at?
  2. My Google-Fu isn't great, however every permeation of this question gave essentially the same results with no answer to what I wanted to know. I know mod limit is 255 plugins, is that Total or Active? According to NMM: Total Plugins: 260 | Active Plugins: 248 | Total Mods: 362 | Installed Mods: 350 | Active Mods: 350 Thank You for your help.
  3. One last question. Will the mods that are out now be compatible?
  4. Yeah this has been my thinking on the subject. I guess I was wondering if it will open up more ways or possibilities for skilled modders to make use of workarounds, etc. I know the engine has a lot of limitations especially concerning animations and script handling. I also understand that if Bethesda does not fix it at their end, then modders won't likely to be able to. Having the program capable of more than 3.1GB of system RAM before crash will be great and a more stable modded Skyrim is something to look forward to. Now I have to reinstall and mod it.
  5. So this should mean that the issues with scripts will be over? Stable scripts both vanilla and modded!? That would be wonderful!! Sorry it's been a while since I played Skyrim, I just remember Papyrus was a 3rd party script engine, or something like that, and wasn't built into the engine properly and thus issues with vanilla/modded scripts were present. I may be wrong or remembering it incorrectly, if so enlighten me. I know it's too much to hope that the animations are handled better by the engine now, that and the scripting were what I had issues with (just preference issues for animations). The only other issues I really had were my ability to add just one more mod which would somehow break my game (eventually). Thanks for the responses!
  6. So I am looking forward to the Skyrim SE coming out next month and was wondering what does 64bit bring to the table for Vanilla Skyrim. What does it mean for modding/mod authoring? I know 64bit allows a program to use more than 4GB of system RAM, does this mean the CTD from hitting the 3.1GB RAM is over with? Will it help with stability at all? Though I know stability is more based off of Bethesda actually optimizing their engine which following their usual practices won't happen. Sorry for noobish questions.
  7. Consistantly, whenever I'm dowloading mods, they end abruptly and without reason without completion. Especially large files. Also does this on the Fallout 3 nexus. Anyone know why this is? I use the manual download as I don't use the NMM, I prefer Wrye Bash for all my modding needs. I'm only asking this as one of the larger texture packs for FO3 stated that using NMM will stop similar problems with the download, so do I have to get NMM? I prefer not to personally. Right now I'm attempting to get Immersive Armors since my mod folder got deleted on the great hdd purge and at 319 mb it's constantly stopping mid download. Took 4 tries to get the Lunari Race. So anyone know what gives? I'm using Firefox v 22.0.0.4917 Comodo Dragon firewall 28.1.0.0 I use the San Jose,Salt Lake and Seattle servers. This problem comes and goes. Thanks for the help.

  9. I just got Fallout 3 GOTY and the game kept crahing after the intro movie. These are the steps I took to get it going. You can try them and see if that will fix your problem. Also make sure your PC can run it.I tried getting it a couple of years ago and the problems I ran into the most were related to the fact that my PC wasn't enough.I guess the game is more demnding than most.
  10. Wow Aoxer nice post!! I'm just now building my patch with Duel.I remember Dukes from Oblivion. It was good but I didn't give it the time needed.I think I'll try it out for Skyrim now that I've got a computer that runs it well.
  11. I removed SFO because it was part of the TPC set I was using. It caused conflicts with the HD DLC.I am going to try the HiRezOptimized that STEP recomends for video cards with les than 1GB VRAM.I'm only using Apachii hair.So far Skyrim immersive Creatures was causing me problems so I took it out.As for Dragon mods, while they are all latest versions,I still have the old DDDiversified patch. So far it has served well.I'm about halfway through my build right now.No problems thus far. I stlii haven't tried a new game yet and when I'm done with the build I will do so.That's where I run into the same problem of the game freezing at the same spot over and over.
  12. I do add them slowly and play a bit.Typically I wait ten days then just screw around for about 15 mins, save, exit, add mods, etc. This is a tried and true practice I used with Oblivon(although I used coc testinghall as the safe spot to wait). When I add mods I try to only add 2 or 3 like mods at a time.I've researched compatibilty to make sure only one mod affects things. The test game I use is fine, though the game sometimes will hang up on loading a save, usually closing and restarting Skyrim fixes that.Other than that I have no problems with the game playing. It doesn't CTD even after playing 2-3 hours at all, which is why I'm not certain its the mods.As I stated,I did read somewhere that Skyrim sometimes freezes with a modded game when starting a new game.Starting a new game after adding the mods however, the game freezes everytime at the exact same spot, just as your character is starting to stand up in the cart to dismount. There's an autosave there then you go to character creation.Sometimes the test save freezes a bit during an autosave(which I will turn off and test now to see if that might be what's causing the freeze). All my mods I have downloaded are the most recent versions, some haven't been updated but they never gave me problems with Official Updates before. The only race I use is Lunari and I installed the Race Compatiblity mod. I wil try uninstalling the mods and getting to the exit of the cave and the adding the mods, but doesn't showracemenu screw with the save?
  13. Okay first I have Skyrim v1.8.151.0.7 with Dawnguard,Hearthfire,HD Textures DLC and now Dragonborn. For some reason when starting a new game the intro plays out fine up til the point where the cart stops just before character creation.Unmodded no problems here but as soon as I start a new game after adding mods it hangs up.I guess "crash" isn't the word it freezes. So I Ctl+Alt+Del and start task manager and it says that Skyrim is "Not Responding".I've done several clean installs including adding one mod at a time with no idea the culprit.I read somewhere,i forget where, that Skyrim doesn't play nice with a new game and many mods.I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and found a solution.I tried Quickstart_no helmet v3 but that one crashes the game when I try to change the sex of the character. The only workaround to that is to take the default character and get out of the cave and then go to showracemenu. Here is my mod list.I use Wrye Bash v303,BOSS and TESVEdit to clean the mods BOSS says are dirty. Active Mod Files: 64,65 and 66 are the only unrecognized mods.Adding them to the bottom of the load order hasn't interfered with the games I have saved nor has the adding them one at a time solved the problem.I need this fixed because I think my save games are corrupt now as they won't load.I just get to stare at the loading screen for awhile til I just start Task Manager and see that Skyrim is not responding. One thing I am going to try this time for the sake of my computer, and to see if it will help,is to optimize the textures.I have the official HD's and also use the Texture Pack Combiner (low res versions). Not sure if DDSOpt or the Optimizer is better for the purpose. Also what's up with PyFFI?I remember with Oblivion PyFFIing the meshes helped out ALOT with CTD's and random freezes.Google hasn't turned up any new info on it though and I haven't been checking the forums alot lately. Thank You for your help. Edit:Here is my renderer info log and my PC Specs.
  14. I have used the nexus since I started modding Oblivion. This has been the best site for mods and gaming in general in my opinion.I don't rank on the problems because I understood it was few people and dollars going into this.Gamers spending their time setting up a site for gamers to enjoy. While I don't agree with a couple of things I heard ,since I didn't encounter or deal with it it's of no consequence to me.I like this site too much for petty issues from others to interfere with it.The only issue I have had lately is large file downloads such as Immersive Weapons stopping mid DL.I'm not certain what the issue is but I don't encounter the problem with any other downloads I do.Could be the nexus in which case I always use the Seattle server so that may be a place to look.Thank You for this site, Thank You for not being corporate douches.
