  1. Coincidentally I'm about to start installing mods for Fallout 3, I'll take the bait and try it again, how did you use Vortex just for FO3 and NV while still keeping most of the stuff active in NMM?
  2. I understand what you are saying HadToRegister. But the fact is, I never needed to read a lot of documents and see two dozen tutorial videos to use NMM. I installed and started using it right away, a few details that weren't clear at once I could figure out just by fooling around with the interface or do some easy searching. I have dozens and dozens of mods over seven games and they work just fine, which means NMM works, at least for the casual mod-user. I'm sure some day I'll have to sit down and cram and learn to use Vortex but it seems to be a chore. Even those like you who like it and have learned to use it, all admit that it takes an effort to learn. So it is not user-friendly.
  3. I can understand that NMM has issues but if they needed to improve they should have made a manager that is user friendly and not a construct for geeks only. They should have made NMM 1.0 i.e. just changing what needed to be changed in a newer version but same format. I tried to use Vortex but was completely befuddled, it is incomprehensible, few hours later I was back to NMM and had to reinstall everything! NMM is so easy to use and makes mod managing so clear. Seeing that Vortex is not practical for a lot of people, I think they should continue to support NMM and add to it whatever it is missing that Vortex does better. Sure you can still use NMM but it's like Windows, down the road is the day they will pull the plug on the older program, say that new (or even all) mods will be only Vortex and then those of us who can't or won't use it will be left out.
  4. @HasToRegister Basic for you maybe. You can't assume everyone knows everything like you. I have used NMM for many years, and I didn't know this. Because I had never needed to use it. OK those options are already checked and furthermore grayed out, and still NMM won't download stuff.
  5. I downloaded Vortex, didn't like it, uninstalled it. However, now when I want to download a mod NMM will no longer do it. How can I reactivate it to automatically download my mods?
  6. I have a similar issue. The only button in the mod pages is now Vortex, NMM does come up when I click but it says token expired and doesn't let me do anything.
  7. Just to voice an opinion, the captcha thing to prove that you're not a robot is getting quite annoying. I mean having to take an intelligence test every time I want to come in, sometimes two or three test panels (which squares have wheels, which squares have cars, etc.) it's a real bother. I come into nexus several times a day, couldn't there be a cookie or something so you only have to prove you aren't Mr. Roboto once a week or so. Or make simpler, I'm fed up with the IQ tests.
  8. Since yesterday I only see plain text on a white background and I can't download anything.
  9. I am moving my two (very modest) mods to SSE, however in one of them I can't get it to display Download with NMM button. That one was my first mod and it didn't have the button in original Skyrim either (because I didn't know how to make it use that button back then, either). I have tried to check and uncheck the "remove NMM button" choice in file editing, that worked for my other mod but not for this one.
  10. In response to post #43746270. #43746460, #43746755, #43749045, #43749835, #43752980, #43753020 are all replies on the same post. This doesn't work for me. Every time I get error during installation at about 96%, happens with all mods and all games.
  11. When I try to install anything manually, I get "an error occurred during install", and it's not only SSE, but for all games.
  12. Hmm, seeing the lack of response I finally decided to try out FO4Edit and it's not so hard. I found this however: The colors are actually fine in their basic form. Pale, for instance is RGB 247 239 238 which should yield an almost white tone. I made a mod that changed pale skin 01 to 255 254 254 with no noticeable change in game. It would seem that there is a light brown filter that applies over whatever skin tone you chose and prevents white characters. Maybe to prevent glare in the game, I don't know. Characters do look much more tanned out in the sun than indoors. Unless there's some way to discover why that filter exists and if it can be removed, I'm stuck.
  13. This is just a request for those of you who can mod the game. It's actually more a needed fix than a mod. I wonder if you have noticed that the skin tones in the character creator are all wrong. They are two or three tones darker in each category than what they should be. See the picture, this is a character made with the pale skin option, the clearest skin you can get. Note this isn't about being racist. It's about the game being reverse racist and excluding you from playing white characters. http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/321250265686882356/6B1694587FD51C25D6A876FF74CDFAA9BCD86433/ So, what I would like to see is a mod altering the palette so pale is real pale, almost pasty like this http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1763/? , rosy is pink, sun-touched is very, very slightly tanned, and so on. As it should be and let you make your character to your taste and not force you to play a dark-skinned character.
  14. The problem is you cannot uninstall .Net 4.6, which may be the real culprit of your problems.
