"My Content" post tracking only showing from a month ago?
AllisterHenderson replied to Mookeylama's topic in Site Support
Okay, thanks for getting back.... it is what it is . -
Unfortunately, as of 16 Sept 2022, this error has returned. I have checked multiple users profile and EVERYONE's last recorded post in the "Only posts" section is 16 Sept 2022 or earlier regardless of how many posts were made since 17 Sept 2022..... also the content listings under "Topics and posts" are becoming non-chronological.

Oblivion: Windows 7 vs Windows 10

Hi IcelandicPsychotic, you have a great set of mods by the way..... it's interesting that it is a 'consistent' error for you where you always have to launch Oblivion a 2nd time.... I wonder if setting "bHookCriticalSections" to 0 fixes that for you. -

Oblivion: Windows 7 vs Windows 10
AllisterHenderson replied to AllisterHenderson's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
It looks like there is a workaround using the latest Wrye Bash with Windows 7, by using an unofficial Python 'fork' that does support Windows 7...... see this for thread for details. OSR's Critical Sections was reported to be working with Windows 10, here, which contradicts Windows 10 - Oblivion Optimization assessment, however there was another report here, that the latest "KB5015807" Windows 10 update causes Oblivion to fail to start when using either OSR's heap or MoreHeap..... so some more pros & cons to consider. -
Are ESP's case sensitive? If so then some of the textures/ meshes will be missing in-game.
-
WalkerInShadows> Thank you for sharing your further optimised fork of Version 1..... I was worried that the best version of Snus Dungeons was lost! WanderRA> This version has assets optimised for better performance and has certain dungeon edits modified/removed for better compatibility with the other dungeon mod, Better Dungeons, and also with OOO and TAS.

Oblivion: Windows 7 vs Windows 10
AllisterHenderson replied to AllisterHenderson's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
If anyone is following this, it looks like if you want to use the current Wrye Bash then you NEED to be using Windows 10 (or Windows 8 ) because Wrye Bash version 310 onwards no longer supports Windows 7 because the new Wrye Bash is using an upgraded version of Python that also doesn't support Windows 7. The latest wip-build, v310.202207101026-310RC6, has also further dropped Windows 7 compatibility code. This pretty much ends the debate, unless you are happy using an older version of Wrye Bash (without the up-to-date improvements) with Windows 7. Don't forget that if using Windows 10 and Oblivion Stutter Remover (OSR) you will need to ensure that bHookCriticalSections = 0, since Windows 10 - Oblivion Optimization mentions on the description page that "Windows 10 released an update that breaks the Critical Sections Fix feature. -

Mookeylama> I reported the same issue here and it got locked! I had to manually find it because it doesn't appear in my topics content history. Also, the content history that I do have listed (mods that I managed to post comments to pre- 'September 30' cut-off) are in random non-chronological order even though I have it set to sort by Last Update Time. I have to go through all 8 pages worth to check for new posts. Do you have this problem too? -
Ohh... I see other people are having the same problem here.

Content Post History Not Showing

I have this strange issue (as of 05 DEC2021) ......In the forum version of my content, when I go to select "Only posts" to view my history, ONLY the posts that I write 'today' show up and all of my previous posts UP TO 30th September 2021 appear..... But ALL of my posts between 1st October 2021 to 'yesterday' do NOT show up?!?!?! What is going on?

PyFFI - Why isn't it more popular?
AllisterHenderson replied to AllisterHenderson's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Pellape> All good  DrakeTheDragon > Thanks for clearing that up... I was searching all over the internet, wondering what the hell SK files were.. LOL  I am more familiar with KF animation files, as in I have seen a lot of them in popular mods, just wasn't aware (didn't notice) EGM & TRI animation files, but thanks for explaining the difference between the different types of animation meshes . Even though you said KF files should be okay for Pyffi optimizing.... just to be on the safe side if I do any Pyffi optimizing in the future I will only stick to static meshes like 'Architecture', 'Dungeons', 'rocks' etc... -
PyFFI - Why isn't it more popular?
AllisterHenderson replied to AllisterHenderson's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
DrakeTheDragon + Pherim > Thanks guys for the helpful & valuable knowledge, and trying to improve MY 'slow-brain' understanding   . Both sets of information correlate. Pherim's assessment and discovery (MOO incident above) not to use Pyffi on "character models, creatures & possibly also armor and clothes" correlates with those 'animation' mesh files (.nif) probably also having associated morphs (.egm & .tri).......and it's probably safest to only use Pyffi on static meshes like 'Architecture', 'Dungeons', 'rocks' etc.... So in terms of mesh animations..... what is the difference between (.kf) files and bone-based (SK files) / morph-based (EGM/TRI files)? -
PyFFI - Why isn't it more popular?
AllisterHenderson replied to AllisterHenderson's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Pellape> Yeah I like Nifskope too, but only know a few features, so want to learn a lot more about it . Pherim> Thank you for clarifying my poor understanding, that it doesn't matter about collision geometry because they are not drawn by default, and that it is visible geometry that we have to be worried about. I was not aware that collision geometry was handled by the CPU, I thought anything mesh or texture related was handled by the graphics card. Thanks for the stern warning regarding using Pyffi 2.2.2 on everything . Okay, so when I eventually finish my mod build, I will: 1. Run Sniff, on my Meshes directory to workout which meshes have NiTriStrips with large numbers of excess strips. 2. Check if mesh isn't a character, creature, animation, armor / clothes model. 3. Run Pyffi 2.2.2 on meshes left that fit above parameters.... DrakeTheDragon> Hello sir moderator  When you refer to Morphed Meshes, do you mean this, where the original mesh's shape is changed. Is there a utility that I can run after I run Sniff, that can determine which meshes have morphs, and thus will leave those meshes alone..... -
PyFFI - Why isn't it more popular?
AllisterHenderson replied to AllisterHenderson's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Pherim> I now consider you the resident Oblivion expert on Pyffi  ... and thanks again for your discovery and releasing your draw calls fix for the Unofficial patches . So you recommend Pyffi 2.2.2 over the newer Pyffi 2.2.3....... It is a good thing then, that Pyffi 2.2.2, auto removes collision from the generated _far.nif files because you said here that the extra strips occur in collision meshes and if collision geometry isn't drawn, it doesn't cause draw calls. Would there be any harm in running 'good' meshes (already having 1 strip per NiTriStrips) through Pyffi 2.2.2.... because I was thinking after I finish my next mod build (if I ever do LOL) to just run Pyffi 2.2.2 on my entire Mesh directory.... It would be over-kill for majority of mesh files but will catch some with the 'strip bug', it wouldn't harm already 'good' meshes.. right? Also thanks for tip about Pyffi 2.2.2 not recognizing .NIF, will have to manually rename .NIF files to .nif 1st before running it. Maybe there is some batch 'auto - renaming' program out there I could use..... -
Sounds like an ESP patch should be made to fix this bug.

Oblivion: Windows 7 vs Windows 10
AllisterHenderson replied to AllisterHenderson's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
There aren't many quest mods for Morroblivion, however user : 'Brainslasher' ported two quest mods from Morrowind in March 2020, and shared them on Morroblivion.com. They were Tel Nechim & Dulsya Isle. Again these were made for Morroblivion v064 so will need to check if they are compatible with v065 (probably  ) Tel Nechim : Original Morrowind & Morroblivion Port. Dulsya Isle : Original Morrowind & Morroblivion Port.
