You should have started playing this game 9 years ago on the oldest, crap strangled PC you could find. Then playing it again on a new PC with dual core processors, oodles of RAM and a 2gb graphics card! It's a completely different animal. I am now seeing textures and fight action that were completely hidden from me on my old PC! Retro come back! For me this is still the best PC game ever made! I think you are just spoilt, no offence!

Yeah, must have been recorded by Patrick Stewart originally! I think for the guys with the expensive pc's! Those who have now deserted Bethesda, ditched their pc's and are now playing their games on even more expensive toggle boxes!

I think your problem is that you have re-installed the game without running the vanilla ini from start up. Always run the original game from the CD to begin with, then save your game! The same with any changes you make to the ini file in the My Games folder. If you don't, the game engine will not identify with them and crash or fail to load under obse.

Yep, learnt my lesson. Before installing the new CD, I copied it to hard drive and burnt it too! But please tell why you have had to re-install it 10 times, has it taken you that many re-installs to understand which drive you installed it to? Hi guys, I could not believe my luck when I walked into a Morrison's store in Berwick on Tweed. My original copy of GOTY Oblivion cd's where so screwed up scratch and gouge wise after 8 years of abuse, they were seriously banjaxed! But to be offered Oblivion, the 5th Anniversary edition for 7 quid was like a gift from the heavens! I think this game will be rocked and rolled for many years yet! Best Wishes Zapata

As you have as you claim 300+ mods working happily then you should know that a load order issue is not the problem! Wyre bash and TES4 edit runs just as well for me as it does for you! You just assume I am an idiot because I have not read something. I now have to tell you what I think. A forum is a place where people can come and exchange information, ideas and experiences. If you and the other little jumped up corporals, pissed on power, want to turn it into a boot camp for online etiquette then you need to have a good long talk to yourself.

I merely posted this thread in case others were having crash related issues and did not know what was the cause, that's all. If you want to climb on your high horse and pontificate, well that's fine too, because I really don't care.

Hi everyone, I have just gone through a week of hell trying to troubleshoot endless crashes of my beloved game. I can happily tell you that the culprit mod is the latest map marker overhaul by the nice one. Once I uninstalled this mod everything started working tickety boo, as it should. Having said that, the nice one has produced some fantastic mods for the community, and should not be carted off for execution immediately! What do you guys think?

I honestly do not see what is unconventionable about building your own mod! I gave you an example when Wrye, dysfunctions and that is not misleading, it is fact, whether you want to believe it or not, well that is up to you as an individual! I can only say to you that Wrye is like any other software, it has it's limits, and for you to suggest it is infallible, well that is defying the trade description act. hey sometimes your not always right!

It happens when you load-up and clear out mods from CS Extended! or maybe the vanilla CS. I can only give you this example, If you want certain stuff created from favourite modder a, then fav modder b, etc etc, to incorporate in your own mod. (Not for re-publication or re-uploading to Nexus, may I add! Strictly Taboo!). You have to make the mod your copying stuff from and bashing a temporary master to your own mod, save, delete that mod from the list then re-save. I have all my favourite armor, weapons, clothes,etc, at the location of my mod farmhouse. All your favourite stuff in one place so to speak. But doing so, Wrye Bash gets it's drawers in a twist, several times now it has happened to me. I can only suggest the in-out traffic of mods, I think it just gets confused and gives up. Lost in a loop building empty patches! But the build default patch is like a reset button that always seems to work! For me anyway, I am not suggesting that CS Extended is the total culprit, but Wrye Bash is the best Oblivion tool by far!

I would like to apologise to you both above, for my cynical and unfair criticism of what is actually a great mod! I guess I had become too used to winning all combat in the many times I have seen the dragon rise in the temple of the one. I think that says it all. The vanilla game is too easy, and your right to question why did I install OOO, if it is pissing you off! I do love the extra's that OOO gives and have therefore decided to play it out as it was meant. I'm sorry I came to the forums to bark like a junkyard dog at my frustration. fair point and fair question, but one who is stuck with an age old diagnosis of stiffness in the bones and bethesda parathesia , well I can't win govenor! I'm too old to play this game, my back creaks and my spine wracks when trying to kill someone! I would rather take them to the local inn and buy them a pint, given that I have the killing capacity of a flea! I guess what I am trying to say is this, the starting stats are not right, if you want to be a warrior then you should have some sort of stats that reflect that. If you want to be a mind thinking magician who wants to avoid conflict, so be it, if you want to be a pacifist and avoid everything so be it. But to start out as a useless no-hoper who dies everywhere he goes, I just don't get that! I *think* I see what you are saying, but my question still remains: if that's what you think of OOO, why install it? Of course, Oblivion (OOO or not) lets you play as you see fit -- you can sit inside inns for the whole game if you wish, but you're likely to run out of cash in the first couple of days, if not before. Not to mention that the patrons are not much on small talk, and the landlords don't to 'tabs'. Enough, I installled OOO to try and take the game above and beyond, as it promised! I came out of the sewers crossed to Vilverin, got wiped out there, went to the Roxey and the Cave above, got wiped out in seconds there! Hell whats the point of going in anywhere. I get the feeling this is just a joke from "I beat this game before you did clowns' Apart from that what is the point as you just tgm to get past the even more ridiculous odds anyway! OOO does not add anything but nonsense to the game, it just encourages players to cheat back at a game that cheats on you!

Hi Nephenee, I am currently working on room 207's ts figure and clothing. I am working in max9 which i am used to. I want to convert nivea's and slofs work to tie in with his figure. I have already converted his figure to show a,aa,b,c and d cup with uvw wrap removed. I understand that men wearing girls clothes may be a bit of a shock to you, but then again no, you are an artist, you have seen everything!! best wishes Zapata

I have tried to argue this point over and over again on this site! I have just upgraded my PC and installed Oscuros Oblivion overhaul. I happily read through the read me, I will have to run away from my enemies more often. This is my exact point, why would anyone with the starting stats of a sedated librarian take on a James Bond challenge! I can't seem to get it thro to anyone else! It just does not fit!

Hi BlueGunk, don't be alarmed, this is quite common in wrye bash, your patch has lost contact with it's header file. what you need to do is rebuild the patch by pressing the build default patch! add the stuff you want and It will build you a brand new patch with all the stuff you want in it! keep the faith

sounds like to me your running a loose cannon on a runaway ship. if you want stability run obmm with wrye bash in the background keeping order and building patches. boss is now i reckon useless! it only screws up the proper load order anyway. It is only good for suggestions of the load order, nothing else! take no notice of it! Also TES4 edit will tell you to clean dirty edits of every mod, crap! the dirty edits are meant because they change edits in the main game as they were meant to be changed!

Your old tweaked or not INI's will not work on your new computer! get that through your head! When you re-install Oblivion into a new PC environment. The newly installed Oblivion Software needs to engage with it's new working parameters! However your old game saves, old esp's will work in that new environment. You have to re-install them back into that new environment!

This is my opinion, please understand that. I think that Bethesda have taken Morrowind and the cliff racers, thrown it into a mixer, with some uber graphics, rubbed it up and came out with Skyrim! For me they have taken the wrong road! Oblivion and the sales of it, should have been their benchmark. But Todd knows best eh!

If you do not have GOTY, the game of the year CD which includes Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles. Then either get hold of or download those, they are official Bethesda add-on's. If you already have those then you must download Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, this is via the Planet Elder Scrolls link as it is too big to download here. He or she produced this work in their spare time and is now working for Bethesda! Apart from that, there is a million and one additions you can add to your game by people like yourself, gamers and modders, but you have to search and download whatever takes your fancy!
