If this general idea is feasible or agreeable with Dark0ne and the others then I am 100% certain they would hammer all the kinks out so it is agreeable by everyone before implementing. But please, anyone who has a the tiniest idea to add go ahead! It can only make it better.

Again, just a general idea. Let's say another tiny rule is that the Nexus will not change or edit your mod once it is accepted as a donation. But you are missing the point of donating. The whole purpose of donating is you are willingly and with full understanding of entitling another person to some of your property without compensation. That's the whole point. I don't expect a giant amount of people being willing to give up their works selflessly. This is more so an alternative means of broke people being able to donate and help the nexus in some way, while generating revenue for our home. This idea is totally moldable. If you don't like one aspect, tell me an idea to make it so you do like it! It's not constructive criticism if the criticism doesn't help construct. Not saying I am taking your critisim negatively, I am not. Just saying you are welcome to jump in the creating side of the pool too. :) Everyone, that is.

Hmmmm.. I get what you're saying. Much clearer. It does have potential for people that are fame-hungry.
Yes, when I say "donate" I do mean that the person gives up all control over that mod, and as far as permissions are the modder might as well have never made the mod. That is not to say their wishes are going to be forgotten or not counting towards the decision of the admins, just that the actual final decision is that of the Nexus, and can overwrite the modder. In essence they literally donated their mod.
Well, maybe the modder will get no recognition. It's just an idea that can be changed. This way only modders who are capable of modesty will do this. They will get the benefits of having donated it if it is approved to be put on the page, but no recognition publicly. No kudos hungry people involved.
The ranking for the file will be that of the average 1/10 or 1/5 votes of the Nexus staff and the Nexus staff only, or those who are involved in this anyways, and there will be no shown vote from the staff. There will just be a rank but no one will see who gave what rank to keep it anonymous and prevent animosity.
And other like things. So only mature people will even care to participate. I'm just pitching a general idea.

The positive side? Revenue for the Nexus. Help maintain and keep this place going, especially since we all know that TesV will not only put a damper on space, but it will cause sooooo many more members to join. The point of this isn't for glory or recognition. As a matter of fact it's not even my point. Or close to it. The whole purpose is to "donate" your mod. Key word "donate". There isn't supposed to be any more return from a donation than a good feeling about yourself.
This has little to do with the modders or the downloaders. It has everything to do with keeping the Nexus and or helping it grow further.

Anyways. Here is my idea which could help generate revenue for the Nexus while hopefully not breaching the "not for commercial sale" thing for mods.
A new title of membership. You know how we have members, supporter, premium, etc. Well, how about "Senior Member" or something. A new category to fit this idea.
My idea is basically this in a nutshell. People who have a minimum of Senior Member rank, which is right under supporter, are allowed access to a special section of pages which modders who also have a specific set of variables that must be met before being able to post their mod up for judging to be put into this page are allowed to "donate" their mod, and all of its permissions and "rights" over to the nexus. Of course, all credits and all are given to the modder.
I am very tired, so instead of continuing to summarize my idea I will go step by step.
All of this is suggestion and examples for guidance towards my concept. Any numbers or whatever are totally opinion.
Senior Member:
People can get to senior member status in a couple ways.
Way 1: Having 5,000 posts.
Way 2: Having 100 Kudos
Way 3: Having a combined total of 250 endorsements on all mods.
Way 4: Etc.
Here's the catch that helps generate revenue. If you have ever donated, or are a Supporter, you have all Senior Membership rights, which include:
Access to a special section of mod pages.
Modders who have achieved either 250 endorsements or kudos or something, some time of filter so not every modder is flinging file after worthless file that doesn't fit this need at a page which a panel of selected judges sift through each file and give their opinion and vote on whether to pass it on to the special section or not, which an Admin or Dark0ne or something can approve.
The special section would be for phenomenal mods such as any worth the top 100's. And there would be a top 100's for the special section too. However, any mod which is already available freely can not be put into this special section, BUT optional plugins for the freely used mods could be put in.
Everyone can view this special section, of course. And let's say anybody with 50 kudos or more can comment. Or not. Whatever.
This would mean that you can get to this special section without paying for it, but if you are too impatient you can pay if you aren't already a senior member or more to become a Supporter, which can also download from that special section.
Any thoughts?

First, I haven't read all comments. Second, I found out about this yesterday.
EDIT: PS: I emphasize "our mods" a lot because what I remember reading is you talking about not using resources from "not our mods". Although that quote is actually a paraphrase, that's the impression I got, so it basically an unasked question within these questions.
Question 1: When you say that we can not use content from another mod, I am of course assuming this is with permissions, however, what if we use modder resources in which aren't originally from any mod at all? Such as Hel Borne's models that he gives in Zip with no mod attached?
2: What about resources that we helped to develop, and even though technically they are used in a mod, they are used in a mod in which we have uploaded under our name, with the permissions of the resource developer. Such as the Alchemic Sink mod I have uploaded. (Funny story, I insisted on him uploading either the mod version, available optional mod version, and or just giving him the script to put in the Zip. But he insisted, continually, that since I made the script, my contribution to his works should be uploaded under my name. This was well before he went hiatus. I still feel bad about it. :( I miss my good friend Hel Borne...)
3: What about resources that are entirely our own from our own different mods that are uploaded under our name? And or resources in which were planned for a mod, that we did not make yet, yet was made for us, and only we have it, and it is not in a mod yet, even though it's awesome and a couple years old.

Number 4: Does anybody know a website with free, legal .mp3 sound effects which aren't crummy, downloadable, editable, (legally editable) and may contain musics with the electronic guitar playing a very quick, wordless beat that is obviously meant to trigger a suspenseful and intense emotion? And if so, would it be okay to use those resources in this competition? (If not, I need it anyways. I have "optional plugin" ideas that expand completely around the work I have planned for the competition for AFTER the competition. There are certain things I can do without in release for the comp., but eventually I want them done.

I've never finished morrowind... :( My xbox broke before I could, and now I don't have an xbox at all. My computer would likely not have the space to support it because it has small hard drives.
Although I've played it over and over, I never finished the main quest. I think I finished 50% of everything else, half of what I didn't finish I half finished.

I haven't read any comments, but I do want to say this:
I am with you. The human race can be summed up into these words:
1: Need
2: Greed
3: Feed
4: Bleed
5: Power - control, "better, gooder, awesomer, ego."
At least, in this particular instance. We need things, but never really know what it is we need. We just know we need, and so that leads to greed. Greed leads to hunger of others, watching a man in a trapped room of two eat a dinner for four, as the other is chained to the wall, starving. Bleed and power should actually be reversed, because it is with the power over others that we "need" to make others bleed in order to stay in greedy power.
But when it comes right down to it, the one word that can be described by so many. Our "prime directive" if you will. The one thing that can never be eliminated from a human mind, no matter what. In terms relative of a computer, if our brain was a harddrive, the one piece of code that is permanent and defines the underlying purpose of that machine:
Murder.
We are insane, out of control, egotistical, control-influenced power-drunk murderers. Insanity is our core, murder is our very objective in life.
In truth, we need war. War allowed the dominated to be greedy. It fills up their little greedy purses so they can stuff their mouths and feed all day long, allowing those in power to stay in power, by murdering those they have no power over, and greedily plundering their lands for our own.
But it is much more than that as well. We are out of control. In a different sense, that is. Our population is skyrocketing. Modern medicine allowed normal population controls to be bypassed. Scientific advances allow us to know every single molecule we are putting into our bodies. There is very little danger in the lives of those near this modernization. Drinkable water always just a wrist-twist or thumb-press away. CLEAN water. We can't even let God or whoever anybody believes or whatever the case to kill us with a falling building or an exploding airplane. No, we have to find way to live through that too. Our greedy, murderous need to have power over everything forces us to have power over life and death itself. Our planet is filling up. Soon we will be shoulder to shoulder, and it is those greedy ones in power who will be brought down with the very hammer they ruled with, and the stupid sheep of the world, kept blind by the power over them, will have no idea what to do and will eat the remaining supplies of food faster and faster until we are doomed to cannibalism wide-spread. After that, we will no longer need population control, because all our modernized ways of escaping death will crash to the bottom of the sea, disease, undercooked kidneys, and even simple, curable plagues like the Black Death will be our end. It will be a quick process, and if just one single plague seizes the perfect opportunity, then it will be that one single entity of death that is our ultimate in-doer.
Our prime directive was instilled in us since our creation. Without it, we will surely die of soon. Because we are too brilliant a people to understand just how stupid we really are. War, murder, insanity.... These things we can not do without, because our race will never allow themselves to do without the unnecessary, and with the unnecessary is our eventual end without a continual, mass population control. If we still had casualties like in WWII, we would still be a proud people. Modernization has allowed even our fail-safe way of death to be cheated. Fewer and fewer are dying, and soon there will be too few, and then too many to stop it. We can only hope we learn before using our nukes. Unfortunately, however, we will not. There is one thing that we can learn. If not population control, then maybe at least we won't nuke our entire planet to death. We have, in just america's arsenal alone, enough power to kill every man woman and child several times over in this world. Out of the thousands and thousands of nukes held in the world, all but two hundred are held by USA and Russia.
I don't mean to sound cynical or morbid, although I am and this is, and I hope nobody looks at me with evil eyes about this, and PLEASE take this next topic VERY SERIOUSLY. If there is even one tiny trollish child remark I will delete it, but I'm hoping the readers are mature enough to understand what I mean by this and there will be no debate over its mentioning.
If the world does not learn their mistakes quick, appreciates their own stupidity, and understands that greed and need are two different things, then we will eventually ALL be forced to adopt China's one child policy. Look at China! I know many people consider it an "evil, devilish" policy, but look at how many freakin people they have. With modernization and our total goal of cheating death and trying to immortalize ourselves, imagine a China that never had such a policy?! A Chinese woman would give birth and push a guy out of the way for the new baby, causing a chain reaction forcing the last guy in line to stop over the border and be shot by some rival hating neighbor.
And to the people who say "Gone with war!" Imagine a world that never had war. Every single person who ever died in the thousands and thousands of years since cavemen (what? You think they didn't clan-war it themselves playing Capture the Flag with a stick on fire? Where you think we get that game?) in a war survived, had children, possibly 2, 3, 5, 8 in some cases! Those children had multitudes of children, and etc. If that were so all of our modernization would go to making the bottom of the sea inhabitable. We need war. We need murder. We need insanity. Without these fail-safes, no matter how trimmed they are today, we are doomed. Wishing for world peace is the most ignorant thing on earth, because it is the most evil wish upon our race, that of which the devil himself encourages, because it would be the absolute ultimate demise.
Now, people can definitely stop being petty, and make relevant wars and then we might feel a little better. We could sure use another Hitler, and by that I mean a person who causes a war that's not so damned petty. In that war, it wasn't a war over religion. Not over oil, and barely over politics. That guy was ONLY his prime directive, and he was in power. People felt closer together at home knowing their loved ones fought for something meaningful. There was no question in anyone's mind who wasn't a traitor or spy, we needed to stop that person. There were no thousands of people striking against eachother, calling their neighbors pigs and devil worshipers for supporting the CHILDREN who fight for their right to even complain about it. I tell you. It's a lot better to support those kids out there, facing untold dangers for our selfish asses, no matter what country*, because those kids are fighting for their citizens. They are dying, willingly, sacrificing themselves for the freedoms of their kin, for the survival of their people, and for the rights to be proud of it. Unfortunately, they are fighting other children, doing the exact same thing.
There are no evil armies. There are certainly evil and wrong soldiers, but we are a fallible people. But an army itself is not an evil thing, no matter how many evils they blindly carry out, for that army is ignorant to their wrongdoings, and embraces and knows only the valorous, selfless and right things. You may take the Nazi's for example. They were not an evil people. Sure were gullible as hell, but not an evil people. They were lead blindly by evil people, evil people who purposely searched for the fallible evils in the world and had them do the only true, nonquestionable evils of murder, massacre, and horrors. 99% of those under the Nazi flag believed in brotherhood, love, kindness. Most who spoke word one against doing a single thing they were told either were shot, or their families shot. And every single person who has a good family understands that a perfectly good and reasonable human being can reach into their prime directive and massacre thousands in order to save their family. To most, no one, no COUNTRY is more important than those very few. Another, unfortunately, terrible thing that is going to help our undoing. As beautiful as it is, even though have but one person in my family I'd murder any multitudes of people to save, we are too ignorant, too blind to understand how to have such a wonderful thing without being taken in by it and brainwashed to be stupid. I do not mean just the government, by the way, when I say brainwash.
I would write more, I had more to say, but I need to get going. This keyboard is annoying. Some keys barely press, so I end up backspacing a whole sentence to correct one untyped letter I know I pressed twenty times! ( I type too fast, WAY TOO FAST, to catch it right after I make the mistake, so I do have to backspace a lot. Even if I catch it, my hands are still going after my brain says stop. )
So, for me to be absolutely succinct which is probably what I should have done,
I side with the PS3 idiots wanting to make a war over who is the most greedy jackass. Although I do wish the reason for war were more relevant.

I didn't read all comments, but aside from the obvious which has been pointed out of keeping it simple, here are two important tips.
1: Landscape. You can edit flatter or taller landscape by pressing H when in the CS. Right clicking instead will edit the ground texture, which you can choose. Most beginners don't know this.
2: Lore, history, purpose. Don't just build a castle that has a generic purpose with no explanation. Put meaning into the structure, put reason into the story, put emotion into the reader and capture their believability senses. Make the castle important. Make it important that it IS a castle. Think of the undertaking needed to build such a castle, think of the possible people who could previously afforded to build such a monument that takes years to complete.... Well.. I just recently sent a PM to someone regarding this, I will just copy and paste it.
It has some vulgarities, which I will censor more appropriately.
" Not a modeler, and I don't want to use some generic bullpocky that has nothing to do with anything. Nowadays everyone puts everything in an fort ruin or alyeid ruin. You can find a gym, a bookshop, a lounge and a bar with all sorts of nonsense in these giant interiors that are too much for it. And somehow they all have a traditional storyline that dates back to, accidentally in most cases, when the alyeids actually lived there. It's stupid.
It's one thing to build a ruin for the purpose that a ruin can be used for, reasonably. And to use those ruins it's stupid to do without explaining or showing some sort of significance to the structure itself, which is widely overlooked. Look at Fort Death. It's a player home, sure. A vault, nice. And oh hey, even an NPC dungeon. But it's so much more than that. It's not just a player owned house. The fort is alive! It's history rich, and lore actually logical. No one has any immersion anymore. They just use space because they can.

LadyM is aware of what happened but doesn't want to even have a topic about it in her forums, or even tell me in PM. Which makes me think that it'd be best I ask this:
If you do know and are willing to tell, please PM me. Do not talk about it here. There is probably a good reason why she doesn't want it publicly posted. (The impression I got is that it can cause a conversation that is not needed publicly that can get probably to a point of flame or something.) So after posting this thread I am asking moderators to lock it. If they are aware of what is going on and don't even want me to ask this here, then go ahead and delete this entire topic, or replace the words with two words. "Deleted. Pie."
Anyways, if anybody knows what happened and it is not personal in the sense that it is okay for a concerned friend who is worried about her disappearance and was recently told she died (turns out not she did not. Thank god.) please PM me with whatever you can tell me. If it is too personal, however, then completely disregard this altogether. Whatever said to me shall stay with me unless I am told it's actually not personal.. I don't know why LadyM didn't want to talk about it at all, even vaguely. For all I know it's just the situation brings emotions for LadyM that she doesn't need to have brought up, or because the CIA is secretly holding a gun to her head telling her not to say anything. I have absolutely no idea what's going on, I'm just worried.

I was just wondering, randomly thinking here, on average how many people have changed their passwords various times through the years. I personally never have needed to, which is what mainly prompted the question in my head. This is in poll form to leave the number specific to the person discrete. There have been in my understanding around 20 people during my time that have called the site moderators and admins "dictators." If you want to break it down.. let's..
Dictator: One who dictates.
Robin: Site owner. Dictates what is on the site and off his own tab and time allows people to use his features.
So, sure. The site is run by a dictator. But the way you are talking I have a hard time you are even age appropriate for the site anyways.
If you don't like it here you don't have to be here. This site isn't America, nor is it run by an American. There are 2 million people on this site and so far that I know only 20 share your view. There must be a reason that 1,999,980 people disagree with you, mustn't there?
Imagine you invited 2 million people to live in your house rent free. Because there is limited space you need to have a tiny bit more income to be able to feed these 2 million demands. So you offer your best rooms available for an rent, but it's optional. Everyone still can live there free, they don't need the fancy bedrooms. Some accept and yay they helped pay their place. But now you only have 7ish police to help make sure no fights break out, no one steals your stuff and everyone is happy. Do you think they have the time to keep 2 million people happy by saying "Oh, you pirated something. Gotta warn you. Don't do it two more times!" No. Besides, if they don't nip that in the bud then the city will take over your house and kick you out forever. If people are acting out they might get warned, if they're overboard the police just can't spare their time to handle it. You, the owner of the house, the person who pays everyone usage of toiletries and food, are now approached by one person who complains that his police are too harsh to kick people out of the house that they do nothing to contribute to but grief. How would you feel?
That is just my opinions.

I made a mod a while ago that is still a WIP. It is called Ranokoa's Shifting Halls. It is a Fort Ruin maze that is at least 20 times larger than anything on the Nexus. It has thousands of pieces of hallway in it, the walls shift the deeper you go in. There are points where triggerboxes teleport you to a random part of the maze, but can only be triggered one time. Several traps and.. Well.. It's completely dark, and the only available torches give you less light than normal ones. All items are removed on entry, and you are silenced the whole time. It's very scary, actually. I really got sadistic with it.
At the final stage there are 7 levers. 5 will kill you, 1 will teleport you to the beginning of the maze, all halls reset. (PS: You need to pull several scattered levers in order to get to the end that lift up gates at the ending hall) and the other wins that phase.
The next phase is a large interior with 20 hallways of 10 doors each that randomly link to one another. You just have to keep guessing which to go next until you finally hit the right door and go to phase three. All 20 halls are identical, so it seems to go on forever.
The third phase you are ambushed by dozens of weak, one healthed zombies and skeletons. After that I haven't done anything yet. But I plan on more. It's one of my larger side projects. I've spent quite a lot of hours on its development, and although due to the way triggerboxes behave with enable/disable scripting most of the first phase isn't fully functional, I have figured out a couple ways to bypass that... The only problem is it is in a way I really don't like and don't want to have to resort to, so I've been thinking of a way to get around it...
Playtesting it is a [censored]. I get lost within 10 seconds and I made the damn thing. Even using TLC and speed cheats it's freakin hard just to find that one part I want to test. I scare myself half to death everytime too, because I get lost and don't expect one of my "vomit your colon" parts and jump half way out of my chair. I went way too overboard with this mod... But I could go so much further if I could just figure out a way to bypass the damned behavior of triggerboxes!
PS: If any advanced scripter wants to help me with getting these things to function, it's actually one script only that's used everywhere, even if it requires OBSE please PM me for details to see if it's something you can do. I'd love you forever, Kudos you, buy a plane ticket to give you a deep tongue kiss, and overly credit you in the mod's release if you can solve it. The problem is soooo simple but so annoying.
It's a challenge... Trust me. It's built to last around 3-5 hours just to solve it, and you will NEVER be able to solve it easier if you played it once already. The maze changes the deeper you go through, so even if you take an hour going through and find the beginning again and try going the same way you won't be able to.
