  1. Had something similar in BOTW back when I played that, it was a torch replacer and you could still light things on fire, wield it in one hand or wear it on your belt. Just thought it would be a cool idea, you could restrict it with stone/bronze/iron ages etc, making different versions for each one starting with a firefly lantern.
  2. HEY! are you hiring? Im an upstart VA looking for a solid, or semi solid, we'll call it half mast... means of work. I record with an AT-2020 out of my basement, I have over a 600 dollar setup for my recording, please refer to this video for a demo of my VA work.
  3. Patrick - email me at [email protected] Skype: Nomad-818 AGE: 22 yrs old GENDER: Male RACE: White/Caucasian LAST UPDATED: 5/1/2016 MEMBER STATUS: Active "Hey guys, name's Patrick. Been wanting to get into voice acting for a while and I really love The Nexus, it's where I first started modding, realized over the years that the sense of community here is incredible. I also know that from time to time, modders need Voice Actors, and that I like to talk to myself- a lot. So, I figure why not offer the service to modders in need? I love acting, it's one of my passions in life and a subset of that is Voice Acting, which, not everyone can do and I have been told that I have a great voice for (and its not just my parents saying that either!). I'm 22 years old and have actually voiced my first mod, The Forgotten City by Nick James Pierce this past summer. I certainly understand what it takes to present oneself for this sort of thing. This is a link to my soundcloud where you will find many files, some unedited using the site's own recording feature, but I'm constantly adding new ones! Below you will also find a link to the Mod I recently voiced a whopping 6 characters in, as well as a video I made as a demo reel to showcase my voice samples. Thanks, and I look forward to voicing some epic, Fallout 4 things, hell, I'll even re-record every voiced line if you need me to!!!" 4. Ill upload these two samples to my soundcloud, find the link here - https://soundcloud.com/patrick-deegan-4/aldarilar-balfhe
  5. I'd love it if this would be the official thread for the voice actors of FO4, but seeing as how the mod kit isn't going to be released for a while, I just thought I'd take it upon myself to start this thread, hoping that potential VA's will make their way here!
  6. I'd love to start doing some samples. My only problem is I didn't buy Fallout yet and well, frankly, I'm trying real hard to avoid spoilers. Ill have to look up the voice types eventually though I suppose, this was a great tip thanks!
  7. I would prefer anything that's convenient to you! my Skype is Nomad-818, and if you send me a PM on here, I can give you my steam, email and cell phone. Let me know! Your move stranger! I look forward to working with you!

Voice Samples (From TFC) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln1y5UKroWk PROGRAM: I use Audacity when recording the final version, I clean up the background noise and any annoying sounds beforehand (i.e. coughing, table noise, bass, reverb, etc.)
  9. So, I know people have had this issue in the past but I have absolutely no idea what could be causing this. Ever since the new Nvidia driver update and the HoS Witcher 3 update, my game has just, not wanted to do things in cities. Like, I can go through an entire Baron's speech cut-scene, play as Ciri and switch back to Geralt no problem - but the second i try to run for too long in a city or something my game just stops, as in freezes though the audio can still be heard. Very seldomly will it close the game for me, leaving me to alt+tab out every time. I have been let's playing this game and I have some mods enabled, but I have also tried uninstalling/reinstalling them one by one and all together trying to find out which "one mod" was causing it. Now, I'm not so sure that's even the problem... I could use some help from someone more experienced - I will list the mods I'm currently using. If possible, I really would like to keep on using them. - NVIDIA driver v358.50 - Witcher 3 v1.10 MODS - mod0000_MergedFiles - modCloseCam_Patch1_10 - modColdcolors - modFriendlyHUD - modGerskin - modHair - modNoLevelRequirements - modTurbolighting - modWitchereye - WitcherScriptMerger
  10. I'm glad you liked it, but the reason i didn't put a label on that one is because... That wasn't me! Hahaha, that's James Mclauchlin (sorry if i butchered the name)
  11. Voices in The Forgotten City Mod, thank you NJP!
  12. Hey everyone, I cut together and uploaded some of my samples from The Forgotten City, and I do just mean some, as in a few... i know, almost 30 mins long.... I did a LOT of voices... let me know what you think! EDIT: I re-uploaded it for a slightly better audio quality, hope this inspires you guys!
  13. "I saw that. Great job and glad it's out. Did you voice the main voice guy who was all threatening sounding or...?" That would be James McLauchlan, someone I had the pleasure of voicing this mod alongside.
  14. Hey everyone, Patrick, (AKA) Nomad818 here! Just wanted to update you all on the status of the mod I was involved in.... It's out! The Forgotten City was... is.... It's Epic to say the very least!
  15. I would love to do just the voice for this, Ive edited Dremora voice files before- you can do that part hahaha. But yeah, let me have a crack at it if this ever becomes available!
  16. https://soundcloud.com/patrick-deegan-4/audio-recording-on-sunday For your narrator, i had to rush this, hope i did ok.
  17. im going to do a sample for the young Imperial, just because it gives me a chance to test how "Slightly Drunk" I can get.... let's see. Will post results here.
  18. Hows this as an example of how I will upload things in the future? In terms of Quality for a sample I mean, I think the Joker is probably the third or fourth best voice I can do. FORGOT THE SAMPLE HAHAHAHAHA****** https://soundcloud.com/patrick-deegan-4/the-joker
  19. Repost* not going to again though, it's way too big and I feel bad about using up the VA forum space for... not that hahahaha
  20. OK EVERYONE So there have been a few posts by me that have admittedly- come off Horribly and just made me look and sound like a foolish dick. To Mattiewagg - I apologize for that post at the top, the one regarding the mic i use and such- that should have been a private message (where the topic began) and it was posted here, I was not paying attention, and that's my fault. To TrollFaceTheMan - While I dislike that last post, I probably wouldn't if there wasn't truth in it, and upon self evaluation you are completely correct. I was being defensive- but also I admit, there's no way the Mattie could've known I already have the mic she was suggesting I use, and for me to assume that well... we all know what they say about assumptions. So Mattiewagg, I got annoyed for a dumb reason because you were telling me to use a mic I was already using - That's totally on me and I apologize. And Yes, I also asked for critiques* on my voice samples. While I don't at all disagree that I could make them better, and that there is a difference between, "don't have time for" and "won't make time for", I still stand by the fact that they are just samples. Sure I could go back and make them better and the only reason I haven't is I'm just focusing on my YouTube Channel right now, which has been taking up every single moment of my day that isn't being used to help a friend do massive amounts of yard work. I also do not have a job so day to day living isn't and easy thing to do for me, but you all don't need to hear that, you just need to hear my voice samples... which sound like crap. Personally though, the only reason they haven't been improved is because I have not set aside the time to devote to making better quality sound samples, and I will be doing that in the future. I also do not mean to use my life as an excuse for not doing things, it isn't - I'm just a lazy bastard. But seriously, my YouTube channel is what I'm focusing most of my time on, and this is a fun hobby for me. I don't want to be the guy people know by name as the "Uncritiquable a**hole" who asks for critiques just to s*** on you for critiquing him. I ask because it helps me improve not just as a VA but as an actor and person In general. LONG STORY SHORT - I've spent a lot of time sounding like a defensive a**hole, and I don't want to be that guy. Let someone else take up that role. Truth be told this isn't a rebuttal, this is me reading Troll's post, feeling ashamed and embarrassed about the truth of it, and attempting to clarify and make amends for my transgressions. Thank you all for reading.
  21. Matt, lol, I do have the AT2020 and I already do the stuff you suggested for my V.O.'s lol, my soundcloud is just sample stuff. I haven't put in the time to clean up the samples too much, other than minor noise removal- I live in the basement with the boilers haha so there's always something on in the background, but i do try really really really hard to soundproof the area Im recording in.
  22. Hey, I was inspired by that Daniel Hodge guy, so I tried Sheogorath for the first time, ever.... I don't know, how did I do? I know I can already do better, pacing wise and accent, the tonality of his voice also I could get, but like I said, this is my first time, ever, trying his voice. So Im not expecting high praise, but let me know! https://soundcloud.com/patrick-deegan-4/sheogorath-first-time-ever
  23. (...) check my channel and let me know how that QUALITY/QUANTITY thing you were talking about goes over on my channel- Ergo every video in 1080p and takes me a day to render/uplaod. I'd say Im pretty damn focused on Quality- BUT HEY I could be wrong.... ALSO checked out your channel and subbed- useful stuff here for my film props and stuff nice. When he said "quality" he didn't only mean the technicalities. "Quality (video) content" is something that is worth watching. You make Let's Play's, so you should ask yourself: Why should someone watch your videos and not one of thousands of other let's players? Why should someone spend his/hers precious time watching your videos instead of simply playing the game themselves? Are your videos interesting/funny/informative? Do you have something interesting to say about those games, about their story and characters? Or maybe you can say something about how those games are made? About technology used in them? As you can see, there are a lot of questions and believe me, there is no human on earth that can give you good answers to all of them. You simply need to make your best and constantly self improve. Just remember to not waste someones time. Oh, and promote yourself. You can make best content on internet and yet have no viewers because people don't know it exists. Exactly as KorimOo said!! I didn't mean to imply that your content isn't quality 818Studios, just that quality show always be priority over quantity of videos. That was a lesson me and many other YouTubers take a while to learn, and knowing and valuing it from the very start can save you a lot of trouble down the line. Also self promotion is good, but don't spam!! No-one likes spammers, and if you do spam on Google... Google will find out and ghost your account. After that any and all of your comments On YouTube/Google+/Blogger are automatically hidden so no one ever see's them. They don't tell you that they're doing this, they just leave you to believe that everything is still fine, and that people still see your comments... Fair Warning... (But I'm sure you're mature enough not to do that anyways.) Thanks for the sub and I'll check out your channel as soon as I get a chance. And i did not mean to come across as a dick- I'm sorry. Yeah I do tend to focus on the quality of my videos, and I talk about how I view the game in certain aspects and what I've noticed to be a dramatic improvement on gameplay with where technology is today, vs technical hitches in the game that may hinder performance or play- I usually tend to comment on all facets of the game that I am versed in. Granted that isn't very many, I still like to make videos and Let's Plays that I have taken to calling "Honest", meaning as straight as they come, no silly antics, PewDiePie nonsense or bullshit being fed to the viewer on a silver spoon. Just me and my game. And some machinimas of course, because, who doesn't love a machinima or two?
  24. Make quality content over quantity of content, editing can be your best friend. check my channel and let me know how that QUALITY/QUANTITY thing you were talking about goes over on my channel- Ergo every video in 1080p and takes me a day to render/uplaod. I'd say Im pretty damn focused on Quality- BUT HEY I could be wrong.... ALSO checked out your channel and subbed- useful stuff here for my film props and stuff nice.
