I really enjoyed this game.For a time. But now I think its time to let it sit in my steam cloud gathering cyber dust. I am honestly at wits end with FNV. I have done EVERYTHING imaginable to make it work. And nothing. But I uninstalled it,went thru the directory and got rid of everything to start over. And what do you know? CTD on the first start screen slide with the "Sorry but FNV.exe has yadda yadda whatever". I have tried not running mods,turning down the settings to the minumums,and nothing, Yes I have a lot of Dread Wolfs gun mods as theyre amazingly awesome,but cant use em if I cant get the stupid game to boot. Tech specs AMD Quad Core CPU(3.1 base 3.5 OC) [even tried base cpu core speed] ATi Radeon HD 5870 8 Gigs ram I do have DX11 and I HATE that too..terribly unstable..at least for me. But Im really at wits end with New Vegas. I loved it,it was amazing,but this is excessivly BS. I guess im tired of FNVs constant ctd,not working and whatnot. I guess its a broken game and will be doomed it. So what do I do? Uninstall it and let it collect Cyberdust until Bethsoft decides to fix the problems? Or do I uninstall it and cut my losses and go back to FO3?

Both of witch are stupid I agree 110%. Spore had invisible walls,holes in the ground,FNV is the same way too. Its rushing. And stuff like this is why people turn to piracy. I mean preorder stuff is usally cooler and all but is it really worth it? Soo what happens IF your computer crashes and your disk fries itself? Youre out 60 or more dollars.

Actually, Gamebryo is pretty high up there as well. Bethesda just failed at using the engine(which frankly, a lot of people only seem to judge Gamebryo based on Bethesda games, which frankly, is unfair, and does absolultley no justice to the engine.) Examples: Direction lighting, Dynamic shadows, destructible environments, even CLOTH PHYSICS(oh yeah!)! yeah, Gamebryo has it(even if some is from 3rd parties) it's still there, and not being used by....who? Bethesda! And what makes it better is the engine's handling ability, so if someone where to actually put time and effort into what they're making and putting into Gamebryo, you can make some VERY beautiful games. That Coldwood tech demo is a GREAT example of what you can do with Gamebryo...I mean, really, could you imagine if Bethesda actually used their engine properly? Oblivion would look that good, if not even better(and have actually capes that look...well, like capes :P) FINALLY someone else that shares the same view. I'm sick of people ragging on engines, when despite certain limitations it is the developers that fail in their usage of those technologies -- the tools are aways the first to get blamed... I agree too,but i didnt realize some of those games WERE Gambryo based lol. Well the gaming industry in general is dying. EPIC had to close an office i think last year.Austin one was it? I cant recall. EA totally killed Sim City. EA USED to be good now its garbage. I give the industry another 10 years before people get fed up with it

Oh I want them to invest into the next game,but im tiring of the same old pardon me shitty games. Im getting tired of these huge conglomerates killing the competition before it even gets off the ground. EA has killed more games than I can count. Sure its a good thing,but all they care about is profits. Not what the customer wants.SPORE is a great example of it.so many good ideas because EA wanted to capitalize on a diffrent age group? I mean come on,at least make it so we can fix your retarded mistakes.. Bingo. Hardcopy to me,always wins. Comp USA is gone.Radio Shack used to be the top dog for a computer parts/games supplier,Gamestop was too,now its like 10 games and theyre all garbage games nooone wants.I mean what about us people that dont always connect to the net? Steam just destroys my connection whenever i leave it connected. So it takes hours/days to get a large game file into my comp. It seems like the local Wal-Mart or Target has the best game selection

BBCs are bugs.ram came back clean as a whistle,so im stumped,i might rollback the drivers and see if that fixes it

I just ran a memory diagnostic with deep scan,and it came back clean,then i ran windows diagnostics and thats clean too.it ONLY happens with a full screen app

I dunno,my old pc could barely run FO3,and yet was incrediably stable.I have a top of the line PC and yet i can barely run FNV without it constantly crashing

for me? the absurd amounts of bugs,issues,questlines being broken,half assed ideas.poor ai. (On release) FO3-NV. Ive had FO3 since release and i installed it and played the snot out of it and I had little or no issues like I do on FNV,I REALLY like the game,yet it bothers me so much when games are ruined by shoddy work.

I was using KDS Green world,and i kinda wanted something that added more foliage in general,and mod did it. I just cant seem to find it,it was on here a few days ago but i cant even find it in the recent files. I think it said something about sulpher the description.

there was amod on here,similar to Green World but I think it was called Their World but i cant find it :( it added tons of trees and made the wasteland not so drab looking any hints on where it is?

I remember these games :) but I just dont get it.THESE Gambryo engine tweaks are fantastic,yet other developers leave the same consitant bugs in them,yet Bethsoft continues to let it lag and fall behind. And people who forget(as I did) about these other great Gambryo based games will end up attacking the engine. I just cite dev laziness. Pity Bethsoft can pull their heads out of their butts and fix the bugs and MAKE their games look like current gen games not something from 2005. Cause to be honest,I dont know why I need such a powerful computer to run Fo3 when the textures etc arent the best of quality

Oh I understand perfectly :P But dontcha think the SAME EXACT mission like 10 times in a rows a bit much? lol PVP is fun,but sure is expensive in eve,thats why a lot are avoiding it AND the upcoming Hulkaggedon.

Yeah thats pretty much it. I mean An MMO can be fun,but when you try to do the PVE missions,they always repeat,thats why I could never get into WOW or EQ.EVE is starting to grate on me with the constant repetition of the PVE missions..

Well after playing a multitude of games over the past almost 15 years of my life,Ive noticed something. Its all the same now.All the racers are the same,all the shooters are the same,all the rpgs errirly feel the same way. BUt let me digress into a few subjects Game Engines-I love pretty graphics.Ironclads SOASE,CCPs EVE online,they look fantastic. the Unreal Tech Engine,is just fantastic. The Gambryo engine has its moments too. But in these engines,(seems like the Gambryo hasnt) have all gone FORWARD. The UTE gets better and better every year! But the Gambryo engine,despite being slightly newer,feels like it hasnt advanced at all.THe same stupid anoyying bugs persist and well,it really ruins a game. Enemy AI-I love a game where the ai isnt an idiot. Gears of War,Tom Clancy,Halo,DiRt,FOrza,all had great AIs.Fallout 3,decent,made better with the modding community,but NV is terrible!! Its the same attack patterns for every single npc.nobody uses cover and its all charge get owned with my shotgun. In Gears they at least tried to use flanking,and concentrated fire,but here in some games,its pathetic. Story telling-Almost every game since 2000 I have felt lacked a good storyline in it.Halo was great,until 2 and 3 dropped the ball. THe RPGs had mostly good stories if stale and repetive.I mean,its always Go do this go collect that for the rpgs or go kill so and so or go kill so many of these for shooters. its all the same nowadays Broken Promises/Broken gameplay/half-assed ideas-Fallouts victim of this,SPORE is hughly raped of this,Singularity is hurt from it.So many games are from devs being stuck in the time constraints. go watch the E3 debut of SPORE on youtube,then play it.it feels so half baked. Singularity,a game iwth a great idea,and concept,thats proven to be fun and fresh,killed by a time constraint.Fallout 3s unimplimented Ironsights,New Vegases half baked weapon mods are a few examples of this. Hype-COD,Crysis(AKA the Computer Killer) and so many other games become ruined by hype.Or they just become so hyped up you just wanna punch that so of a turd knocker for constantly talking about it every 30 seconds *cough*black ops*cough* Greed-I know changing times mean changing vaules.But come on? Seriously? Sure collectors editions should be worth more and thats cool,but the game prices in general are rising. Even the bargin bin games are still expensive.Look at Singularity,a game that came out in June of 2010. Rlease? 60 bucks fine and dandy. But Come fo now its STILL 60 bucks.Im not supporting pircay,but these high game prices force it onto people :/ Along with DRM.. Onto the DRM.Its cool,I like it.the idfea of it anyways it keeps pirates away.welll no..its been proven time and time again,people will want to break anything thats protected.DRM doesnt stop piracy it only slows it downs and proves that its kinda hard to stop. I dont like it because its not so much fun when it decides to goof up.Steam is famouse for this,and so many other tried and yet failed are too. the concept is sound,but the action isnt. I mean,Im sure im not the only one who has had a DRM fail on you when you have the disc and it refuses to work ever again. OR EAs stupid 3 time install thing. yeah I got it unblocked after running a forced reset on the ports.

Sounds like somethings conflicting Im just not sure what.try disabling some comp mods,sometimes RR and NCCS dont work well sometimes they do,OR certain mods that use the line "Ive got to get going" etc sometimes cause that issue too.

Well i just did a test on myself and port 80 is blocked.how can i fix it?

I have even gone trhough my CMMD prompts and made sure everythings open and im stumped by it.
