ok so I found the solution for this on Reddit: Turns out it was simply that my XCom game was named XCom2.exe, while the mod launcher was searching for XComGame.exe, so renaming it fixed the problem. Thanks again for your comment, though.

It is an example of a great idea that was poorly executed and honestly I believe that if it was given time something better would have come from it. Of course we may not see it come into fruition anytime soon now that the pulled it. -

In response to post #24783529. #24783794 is also a reply to the same post. @Azra Why are you so close minded, I get it you don't like change, I get it you don't want to pay for your mods because the have "always been this way" I get it you're selfish, so am I and many others. It doesn't make the statement about being entitled assholes any different than before. Because it has been this way before you..rather we feel entitled to it and that mod authors have no right to demand anything, but seriously take a step back and get beyond your own selfishness and really look at it objectively especially from many mod authors perspectives. I will agree though that the current system that was set up was very flawed, that much is true but the amount of hate directed to these mod authors who opted into the system is really unacceptable. If people really had a problem with how the system was set up rather than the idea for paying for mods, then why attack the authors? -

Honestly this whole fiasco really showed the true colours of our community and well...it kinda sucks, while I will agree that the system could have been better, the formula for mod creators getting something tangible back for their hard work is definitely something that is totally worth exploring, but then we have these mod users who are being entitled assholes demanding that it is their God-given right to take someone's work and not have to pay for it...do you honestly see how ridiculous that sounds? Look I love free modding as much as the next person and heck, I would prefer not to have to pay for mods. However on the flip side I also know how much work it takes to make something, being a small time author who started writing stories for blogs and such, sure I write for the joy of writing but at the same time the amount of time I put into it doesn't put bread on the table. If i was given an opportunity to write a novel which I could sell, of course I would be all for it, making something for doing something I love totally worth it even more so than just writing for free. In the real world people generally get paid for the work that they do, and let's be honest here a lot of these mod creators deserve it...This is not a "win for the community" like so many like to proclaim, rather this was just a wake-up call for many hard working mod authors and mod users like myself. For a while now I have been dealing with an annoying glitch in the quest journal. Quests from the bottom of my completed list, or details of completed quests (the list of different steps the quest went through) will disappear. In addition, quests in the misc. category will disappear as well. The quests will always disappear from the bottom up. I know the quest isn't completely gone, because quest markers for the quests that have disappeared from the misc journal will still be present, and talking to NPCs and such will make the quest reappear in the journal.

I have been getting really frustrated as of late when it comes to downloading mods off of the nexus. A fair amount of mods that I download work perfectly fine however when it gets to the larger scale mods, specifically Maids II - Deception and Become the Jarl of Ivarstead, I run in to a problems, everytime I download these mods it downloads until completion so everything seems fine, however when I try to extract them using winrar or 7zip (I install my mods manually or through wrye bash, as I am not a huge fan of nexus mod manager) I get an alert that the files are corrupt and cannot be extracted, I have tested this numerous times switching between smaller mods and much larger mods and I only seem to get this problem with mods exeeding 100mb. If anyone can help me as to figure out what in the world may be the problem, that would be pretty awesome. Thanks, Block2001
