  1. In response to post #34157880. Any mod you have that hasn't been updated to the 1.3 patch will work exactly the same. Any mod made AFTER 1.3 will not work, likely causing a CTD. Pros of not Upgrading: No *new* bugs Cons: No *New* mods No bug fixes No new features (Which is new for Bethesda as NEW game features were previously ONLY shipped with paid expansions/DLC) I've personally been holding out on mods till we get the creation kit so when my game DOES crash, Bethesda gets a legitimate report instead of one generated by a bad mod.
  2. In response to post #33584520. AH HA HA HA! Oh god, sorry, I can't help but laugh, also THIS NEEEDS TO STAY ON TOP... You know so people can stop complaining about a buggy game engine when in fact they f*#@ed up their own games because they were playing around with something that should by all rights have been left alone.

Asus Maxmimus V Extreme Z77 Board i7 3770k 3.5ghz 3 EVGA GTX 770 4gb ACX SC cards 32gb Corsair DDR3 2400hrz 1/2 TB Crucial SSD (Upper mid grade gaming rig) Windows 10 Zero Mods Zero Overlocking Never experienced a load time more than 4-5 seconds to date, consistent 50+ FPS, one of THE LEAST buggiest Bethesda releases in memory. And like you I've been around since Morrowind came out and learned a fair amount about video game development thanks to Bethesda's policy regarding their games development. On a side note I aslo built a buddy a PC 3-4 months ago consisting of an I5 2550k, 16gb DDR3 1600hrz, EVGA GTX 970 4gb ACX 2.0, WD Black 1TB HDD, windows 10, And some random MSI Micro ATX Mobo I salvaged from an old "prebuilt" PC. And hes running the same setting as me (Max settings/distances) and has had no dramatic load times, hitching, lag spikes, or "Fit" worthy issue... So... Maybe try a reformat, or a smiple reinstall of the game without the mods and overclocking.

  5. What am I getting myself into?! Q_Q

The real fun is when people start stealing content from free distributors and selling it for profit and vice versa. With the sheer volume of content available on the nexus alone this would make it nigh impossible to keep track of whose assets are original and whose are stolen. Think of "type 3", been around what since Oblivion, one of the most universally ported/modded/altered/used assets in the Bethesda modding sphere, so what happens when this suddenly gets put up for sale? This is going to be a clusterf*#@ of unmitigated proportions. As much as I think it's awesome for modders to be able to reap the benefit of their labors, the proverbial fallout from this can only amount in a PR nightmare worse than Diablo 3's launch and potential open a massive rift between the two sides. Saddle up boys were headed for the modding dark ages!

You guys have to keep in mind that the group does not always agree, no two individuals may have the same stances on the same issues. Any number of their members with the proper skills can do as they please, be it attacking a government sever structure because of an agreeance of opposition to what ever said body had done. Or in some cases attacking game sites because a user or group of users felt that had been wrong and applied their skills to making others life hell. I personally do not condone, or condemn anon's actions as just like any other other group in the world there are scum bags and saints in every level of every office in every corner. Welcome to the internet~
  8. One of these day I will learn to texture and finally release some of my damn models -_-
  9. Hey go to this link, this is where I found the sweet spot for all the software http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12248 It has a step by step instruction set on the page for great results. :D
  10. Ha well thanks very much for the reply's you guys, managed to make rainbow colored Tesla cannon projectile so that definitely helped. For the life of me though I cant seem to get it to display the color black, and I'm going to assume its how the game engine and file format handles that in particular color or I'm just missing something obvious. Also figured out that just editing the .dds and plugging it into the projectile doesn't work, I'm thinking it may be an alpha channel issue, yet again though this is all foreign to me. On a final note I've tried editing the .nif in blender again which everything imported properly and says it exports fine, but when I look at it in nifskope everything got mashed into completely a different tree system and when attempting to fire the weapon in game causes a CTD so I'm even a loss for words on this one. Being new to modding sure can make you say "How in the 7 hells?" Once again thank you for your help :)
  11. I'm currently trying to edit the Tesla cannon projectile & explosion as well as the displacer glove corona with little success. I extracted the .dds and nifs for these objects and edited them to have a purple hue and a black and red color with gimp, then attached the edited .dds files in nifskope to their respective effects. For some unknown reason either nothing changes or I only see a single blue bolt of lightning with no explosion or glow. So I was curious am I on the right track or has my exploitative editing lead my down the wrong path? Also google failed me on this for once -_- If anyone has any insight into my issue I may have to give them an internet hug.
  12. So I've been playing around with a metric **** ton of mods the past few weeks and decided to explore my creative side. So I started making a model for a heavy energy weapon using blender. After downloading 3 different versions of python, blender, pyffi, nifskope, and nifscripts I finally found a combo of software that recognizes each other. My problem is when I tried to export my model to Nif format from blender I get the following issue in the command console. (Current software Windows 7-64bit Home Premium, Python 2.6.2, blender 2.4.9b(windows 32bit), PyFFI 2.1.9, NifSkope 1,0,22,8329d39, and NifScripts 2.5.7) raise SAXReaderNotAvailable(No parsers found", None) xml.sax._exceptions.SAXReaderNotAvailable: No parsers found The last two entries before the above info read File "D:\Productivity\Python\Lib\site-packages\pyffi\object_models\xml\__init__.py", line 94, in __init__ parser = xml.sax.make_parser<> File "D:\Productivity\Python\Lib\xml\sax\__init__.py", line 93, in make_parser I would supremely appreciate any help that can be offerd with this issue. Or if some one could point me in a direction of where I can get the proper software versions to acutally get the model in game would be a life/frustration saver.
  13. Ohhh the agony of being swarmed by 9 cliff racers and only having a robe and a longsword... I think we need a 21st century iteration of this sky born terror. :D
  14. Realistically I would make a quest involving the followers near 188 where you would need to get a splint and a big bag of meds. After which you help him hobble back to the outpost and let him rest for a few days. I would like to make a serious attempt at this because I smell great potential for him being a comedic companion. He has a lot of dialog for a one off NPC honestly, and with a bit of time and effort could turn into decently fleshed out companion. That happens to not be some some female battle droid with a big chest to boot. :D Mind you I'm not dogging the battle babes, but I really like these kind of mods that make "complex" companions instead of "Heres person Y give them guns and ammo and you get exp" I will admit that I havent ran over the site with a fine tooth comb so I will try to refrain from such statements from now on/ At the moment this post is nothing but a silly idea and me pandering for a modders boot camp site or guide for NV >_<
  15. I have the tools but am sadly lacking in knowledge on all fronts to even attempt this. Plenty of ideas and spare time to pick up modding as a hobby but I'm a complete foreigner when it comes to the actual practice. So if anyone here knows a good place to start learning I would be truly grateful.
  16. Oooooh theres a real project, model a wheel chair and make a new set of animations for it... A fun idea to think about is him using a minigun or rocket launcher while scooting around yelling obscenities as he attempts to run down a death claw. The more thought that goes into this makes him seem more and more like one of the best sidekicks in a video game. :P
  17. On my third play through I couldn't help but laugh yet again while talking to Boxcars (after slaughtering the NCRCF inhabitants mind you) when the thought suddenly hit me. He would make a truly awesome sidekick companion amiright? SO lets get to one of 2 points! 1: Is there anyone in this incredible community who would be willing to bring Boxcars to the couriers A-team? *If no to #1 see #2 2: In case It's too much of a bother to be made, would someone be willing to post a link so I can flex my flimsily moder muscle at this? Any input would generate an internet cookie from me :) Also first post woot!
