Delete your entire Skyrim folder and let Steam redownload the whole game.

By the Nine Divines, the site is so slow this morning. I can watch YouTube and use VK just fine, and Google seems to be as perky as usual, however it took me almost a half hour to upload and publish my most recent file. Uploading images took 15 minutes and then just hung even after I refreshed the page.

That is why I asked.

Where did you get the game? The source of the game affects mod compatibility, say, Steam versus a torrent.

I'm using wireless bluetooth headphones with my laptop. The worked fine until I started screwing with MO tweaks. Let me try and describe the situation. With speakers, you can position them at any distance from yourself. You can't do that with headphones, so the Bluetooth A2DP driver/normal audio driver does that automatically. I changed Skyrim's audio from 1.0, the default maximum, to 2.0. Now the audio sounds mono and very close, but it's still positional. I think the audio channels might have been swapped somehow. Edit: Never mind. I swapped audio channels by accident.

Nobody's answering because it's illegal.

I would like to wear a dragon's skull as a helmet on beast races only, because their faces are better shaped. I don't know how to skin meshes so I am requesting it. Super simple and easy for an advanced modder. No textures are neccesary but are welcome.

I'm extremely confuzzled by this. there are holes. In the glass armor texture. How, and why? When I check the UV maps on the default mesh everything is fine, but when I edit the texture everything goes to hell. I remove the alpha channel and the holes appear black on the armor, but wait, where did the existing texture go? Someone please help explain this!

So anyone who is having massive lag in the Battle for Whiterun quest, I figured out why. There are numerous scripts running simultaneously, and there are lines in the Skyrim.ini that change the update time of the scripts: [Papyrus] fUpdateBudgetMS=100fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=100fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=100 Now, I had them all set to 1000, which is 1 second. 1 second will make your framerate drop to 1 frame per second, or the Papyrus update time. To test my hypothesis I changed it to 500, then 300, then 100. I got 5, 7, and 10 FPS respectively until I passed Breezehome, which then my frame rate shot back up to 60. If you want the CW Battle for Whiterun quest to be playable, I suggest you change all three to [Papyrus] fUpdateBudgetMS=10fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=10fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=10 You SHOULD get proper FPS now. If not, let me know!

If so, it simply means one can't use those materials in a mod unless and until able to make contact some other way and receive permission. Grrrrrrr. Ugh, guess I have to deal with mofuggin Blender and screw with 3DSBull again.

I have 2 requests. The first is to add a "Sort by view count asc/desc" to the My Files page, and the second is to be able to set a default sort order to the My Files page. I want to be able to click on "manage your files" and sort by last comment descending without having to click a million buttons.

I'm looking for a quest to replace the reward item with my Lapis Lazuli armor. I've been scouring all types of forums but no dice. What is the hardest quest with the worst reward? I don't want to just stick my armor in Blackreach or some dumb dungeon for the player to discover. I want it to be an unexpected reward. I have already given the full set unplayable to Ri'Saad and Kesh the Clean to help with the lore a bit. Edit: Never mind, found one. Dumb ole Shield of Solitude is getting replaced.

In response to post #35668992. #35669322, #35670387 are all replies on the same post. Then how come when I use a program to monitor download speed it says that host "http://filedelivery.nexusmods.com/" and "cdn.nexusmods.com" are sending at up to 5MB/s? Seems kinda fishy to me.

Oh, and you can't limit Internet speed. Only the ISP can. Saying that "we will limit your speed to 1MB/s since you use adblock" is a blatant lie. I've gotten up to 5MB/s even though I use Adblock...Pathetic, really.

There has been discussion about the permissions by mod authors to change where the permissions must be more explicit and a option of if you can not reach me then you can or can not use the work so that it is a clear answer of permission. However until that time comes it is what it is. One of the reasons this site has survived so long is the trust it has established with mod authors that their work will remain, intact and only used in a way they specifically and explicitly specify. The Nexus in effect become caretakers of the work. They are not owners. They do not claim ownership, make changes or give permissions not granted by the author already. Though it is frustrating to some when a really great piece of work can not be further shared and used, the binding trust with the makers of such works is what allows the continued sharing and openness that does exist. Should it be otherwise I have no doubt that many authors would no longer feel able to share works in any capacity. Sometimes you can look on the file site under member page to see if they have been on the file side of the site (whose date of last visit is not always the same as the forum.) If you see they have been active try asking permission in the mod comments or if they have uploaded a recent image, apologizing for asking in such a manner. However if you do not receive an answer after a reasonable time and attempt then again, assume the default of no permission given. Unfortunately bug fixes are not an exception to the rule. People that have hosted "fixed" files for banned members would either have that person's permission (which you do not have) or they would create a mod dependent on the original work, much like you have to do when using assets from official DLCs where you can not upload the original content without making it all dependent on having ownership of a DLC. Of course you can ask the moderators about situations but largely LadyMilla has covered the rule and answered the question. Unfortunate for you and perhaps for those who wish to use a mod they can not fix themselves but that is part of the give and take and trust in the modding community here at the Nexus. The reason I almost necroposted was because Oblivion had greaves, and Skyrim didn't. Someone made a mod that added greaves. I want to use the meshes in my Artifacts of Cyrodiil mod, so I messaged them. They haven't been online since January. I hardly think they're coming online anytime soon.

Or disappointing to people who have started a huge project and realised they need something they can't get. I feel like the rule should be, no uploads for two years or some crazy long thing to make sure the account is dead. Of course you do, because it would benefit yourself while screwing over someone else. But it's all good so long as they don't know, right? Except all the other mod authors will know, see and potentially feel less inclined to share their original work because of it but yeah, lets get that one thing for you right now, so much more important. That's not what I meant. There should be SOME way to contact the author. What if they made something so incredible nobody could duplicate it to use it? Like figuring out how to mod jump height without SKSE ^>.<^

Stendarr's mercy, I wish I had checked this sooner. I've already published the mod with vanilla assets. This is incredibly useful though, thank you everyone for your help! I hesitated to do this over because I added over 300 new forms (about 450 to be exact).
