  1. I noticed the textures are generally not that great but now many if not most of them are much better. I installed a high res texture mod like a poster mentioned earlier and now as he said it looks ok. Even looks good as far as textures. It's the Skyrim HD 2k Textures mod by Nebula in the Skyrim Nexus mods. I installed it manually. Just dropped the 2.5gb "textures" folder in the Steam location .../Skyrim/Data/. There wasn't a "textures" folder in the vanilla SE install. So you would be adding the new "textures" folder. Edit: Well after closer inspection it turns out textures don't line up on the ground in places and there are unnatural white specs in the snow. So I removed Skyrim HD. I'll try SMIM instead. Next I need to find a mod to get rid of the "egg wash" effect. That may take longer that a day or two to locate or to wait for.
  2. So I'm figuring the vanilla Enderal mod looks better than vanilla SE.
  3. Been hearing about the interiors in vanilla SE are lacking in detail. But then we'll probably get mods to remedy that.
  4. If anyone can slow down the movement speed of the 1st person free camera that would be great. It's nice now but I'd like to slow it down a little. I'm currently using F1 to enable the free cam after opening the console with ~ in the debug console mod I have.
  5. The only v1.12 mod that works for me in the new patch is Indestructible Boats. Fun mod btw if you want to ram your boat into things and not suffer the consequences of a beat up boat and sinking. Doesn't matter now anyway because the mod has a v1.21 added. http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/818/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fwitcher3%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D818%26preview%3D&pUp=1
  6. Thanks again in bundles for the mods. In light of the popularity of some vampire mods I must admit I prefer werewolves to vampires. So is the a mod for werewolves where you can feed without transforming peopl?
  7. Thanks to all the landscape and graphical modders, and to all the other modders of course. Most of vanilla Skyrim looks just ... but the mods have made the game replayable for me.
  8. Didnt see any topics about this cave in a search of this forum. So I thought Id mention it for the really nice looking falls and valley in the cave. If youre a fan of waterfalls this may be of interest to you. Even though there are places with more waterfalls and higher ones. The ceiling is quite high over the valley with a lake/river into which the falls pour. Located east of Riften.
  9. Oh there is a help command for it. help [name of hold] 0. For example help Riften 0. Just insert a hold name such as Riften or Eastmarch, etc. It doesnt distinguish between interior and exterior locations so I like the website above more. But still I didnt even know about this help command until after the OP. ...Ah almost forgot just hit Page Up to scroll up to the location codes.
  10. I searched this forum for location codes including cell and location for teleporting to many more places than listed on the in game map. But I didnt find any posts about a list this long or much of any list of them. So below is a Skyrim utility site with a huge list of codes for interior and exterior locations for use with the coc command. Thats where in the console you enter coc [location code]. On the site the location codes are under the heading coc codes. http://www.brandonklassen.com/usp/cells.php Maybe this site or one similar is posted in the Mod forum. I searched some there but didn't find anythng like this list. There must be a help command to list all of them but not sure if it's in the forums.
  11. A site with a complete list of coc location codes not even listed on the map is over in the spoilers forum. Also the help command mentioned earlier works for me too.
  12. Could be makes it harder to find the thread by searching for Mod Detectives..and that may help keep the thread from being crowded with uneeded posts like mod requests. I'm just wondering if it was on purpose. Not that I'm a kook or anything for suggesting it..it's probably a typo anyway.
  13. Here are mine for medium shadows fShadowDistance=2500.0000 fInteriorShadowDistance=3000.0000 fShadowLODStartFade=200.0000
  14. If anyone could please recreate The Shire mod from Oblivion. Nice little mod has a hobbit village from Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit books and movies. Thanks.
  15. And using the tdetect command would mess up quests right? So out of luck with that too it seems.
  16. Without having to do any quests. In the game use the coc command (Center on Cell): Bring up the console with the ` (tilde key) then type coc blackreachzcell01 and hit enter. Thats cell as in cellphone followed by numerals 01. This transports you to a hall. Turn around and enter the double doors. It should say Enter Blackreach on the doors. And there you are in blue wonderland. Now you can see some big mushrooms from here but for the main mushroom area just go forward a few meters or yards, turn right at the big blue boulder and there is the main mushroom city with the lake in front. The waterfalls are on the left. I dont know the console command to transport directly to main city but this way is pretty close. (Edit) I know there's a cheat code thread but in this you have to some stuff, like turn around and enter a set of doors. That enough for a thread? Stretching it a litlle? Come on, a number of people wonder about getting there without doing the quest(s). And it's such a popular area to visit.
  17. Rennn, The Lush Plant Textures mod works well. The new contrast and colors make it appear the textures on plants and even trees were redone even though they weren’t. I was going to screenshot and CoC a location of a plant with dull detail for a texture redo request but the Lush mod makes the plant and most others look better. Mistook the game for Oblivion modded with Qarl's textures for a few moments.
  18. Thanks, I'll download the mod and try it.
  19. A retexture with more detail in colorful parts of plants like flowers or some leaves would be cool. For the ones that have noticeably dull textures up close in vanilla. Yeah there is some color in the game like in some flowers. Anywhere you see a plant with some color in it would be ok. Or even if not that colorful if you could redo some of the plants/flowers and add color along with more detail maybe. I hope that doesn’t require going into the geometry to do that.
  20. If someone could make a mod to extend the time before vanity mode kicks in. Currently after less than 10 minutes of inactivity the game switches from gameplay to camera mode that circles around your character (vanity mode.) I’m hoping for at least an hour delay or to disable vanity mode. It makes watching sunsets or other scenery more immersive to not have the view interrupted by the vanity mode. I have the mod for Oblivion which suppresses vanity mode for 20 minutes at most. Unless you go into the construction set and extend the time an hour, several hours or more. Just hoping one comes out for Skyrim but without having to use the editor/creation set to make the time extension longer.
  21. No not the quality of the shadows, that is just fine. I mean the shadows of the pine tree branches move on the ground sometimes but the branches don’t sway or move. Or they don’t move very much from searches I’ve done of posts. Understand I’m not bringing it up just because the branches don’t sway or sway very infrequently. It’s that you would think the branches should move some when their shadows move. This is not the only game where that happens. In Unreal Tournament 2003 you can see tree branch shadows moving nicely long the ground. And it looked great then. But the trees were static. Given that the Skyrim branches may move some, although I haven’t seen it yet on pine trees, I wondered if anyone else noticed what I’ve mentioned. Btw, the Skyrim realms are amazing, Markarth with all the water, water everywhere in the midst of structures built into the stone walls, never seen anything like that.
  22. Nm I found out on Elder Scrolls forums it can be done in OBSE using input functions. But if anyone wants to make the mod, sure.
  23. I slow areas my mouse freezes. I can still move around though will the slide left/right and foward/back keys. So i was thinking maybe a horizontal rotation key would work as fast as the other movement keys in tough areas. That's a big assumption I know. Let's say someone made the mod, that doesn't mean the rotation key won't freeze up too. But still hoping the mod can be made. I can always lower the res to get my mouse to move faster, but would like to try a mod like this if it's even possible to make it. A pair of vertical rotation keys would be nice too.
  24. In some slow areas the mouse freezes but I can move around with the left/right, foward and back keys. So I thought if there was a horiz rotation key maybe it would work as well. I can still move with the mouse by lowering the resolution for the really slow areas. The game can still look quite nice at the lower res. Sorry to go off on a bit of a side note with this next part but it does pertain to playing with the mouse on different resolutions. On my lcd monitor it's a issue because the lower res is not native. The mouse will move fine but the visuals look off a bit as if the images are not as sharp. Not unusual when playing at non native res on your lcd. But I can switch to my crt and change the res on it and no visual problems at all. Oh, edit: have to add that having the option to play Oblvion on a good crt is so nice because the night sky is no much darker. Better contrast for the stars. And to some degree the contrast may be better in dark caves too. But the big advantage I mentioned is being able to change the res without affecting appearance. Still love the lcd too though for the clarity and detail. Just wait until more players on these forums get a LED LCD. That should be amazing to see. A few hundred $ more for a 24" size I hear.
  25. For the pc Oblivion that is. I noticed no keys to rotate left and right. Slide left/right yes. But I'm just checking to make sure I didn't miss a pair of keys for rotation. For vertical rotation too. If no keys for it then I certainly will go to the mod forum about it.
