  1. [edit: fixed, I needed to make the plugins.txt read-only after writing the esm name in there, now works perfectly. Sorry, can't see how to edit the title] First time installing a mod for FO4 and it's been quite a while since New Vegas so it's entirely possible I've missed something obvious. Did some searching but related posts seem to have missed steps in the guide or use older versions... I'm trying to run Robot Home Defence and prefer to install manually. I installed the mod into the game folders as described by the mod author, resulting in Robot Home Defence.esm (and a scripts folder) within S:\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data. I followed the guide so edited Fallout4Prefs.ini and Fallout4Custom.ini within the relevant MyGames folder. I then followed the plugin section of said guide and this is where procedure differed - the game wrote Robot Home Defence.esm in DLCList.txt instead of plugins.txt. I ran the game to check and it hadn't loaded the mod, so I copied & pasted Robot Home Defence.esm into plugins.txt and tried again. This still didn't work and the game removed the line I'd had inserted into plugins.txt. Any ideas? I was expecting to see an option or something within the game launcher or menus but can't see anything.
  2. very quickly taken in Whiterun, showing a wall, a floor and a person. Apologies for not being exactly alike. All taken ~9am. http://imgur.com/a/JNB7B http://imgur.com/a/nHGFA obviously, imgur has changed my files into jpegs so there's going to be some compression artifacting, which is going to impact higher res textures more than lower res ones.
  3. Noticing some improvements. Not an epic improvement and some things are clearly more improved than others. Nice, but nothing to be too bothered about waiting for, in other words. I'm uploading a few very quickly taken screens which Ill post over in this thread, which seems to be about uploading pics and keeping out the chat.
  4. It's 3gb, mind Steam will no doubt get choked so consider putting off the download to a convenient time. Unfortunately it does not treat it as DLC/mod so it doesn't let you download and play at the same time.
  5. So it's a little boring to have hit the level cap having barely got onto the Strip. But the mods for increasing the cap appear prone to break at least balance (probably worse when DLC arrives). I did see some major overhauls but, well I wasn't looking for a major overhaul, especially not one designed for a new start. How about keeping levelling up to 30 as vanilla then implement a new system, just adding modest "sweetener" rewards instead of a full level up? Preferably using an approach that: - isn't really going to impact balance much; - has a good chance of not causing problems when DLC comes along; yet - is still a nice little bonus to look forward to. Example rewards might be 1 perk or 1 SPECIAL, or even just having a drop box somewhere spawn a couple random skill books, unique weapon or bundle of caps? It might it be possible to introduce choices e.g. a "Special Choice Sniper" in one drop box and "Special Choice Laser" in another, removal of one causing the other to disappear? Doing it by XP would be preferable, but if that's likely to cause problems even just do it by gameplay time intervals.
