Agree with what was said above. Your mods are the issue most likely and not your specs. Your system can run skyrim, but if you have the wrong kind of mods, then you will have issues. Load order, any texture mods, and boss log would be needed.
-
Just out of curiousity, do you use BOSS and or Wyre Bash? Now, main quest issues can be tricky to track down because of the vastness of the possibilities. In my experience, they are harder to track than normal conflicts. Also, will probably be harder to track since you used the console command. Its not your fault with that. You have to do what you have to do, but the problem is that it is even harder to tell if the issue is with the quest prior to your current situation or with your current situation. It could even be a save game issue with your current save. If you have the time, try this. Start a new game. Then, just use the console commands like tgm so you can go through the game faster. You could even make your character as powerful as you want as it shouldn't matter. What you are doing is to just rush through the main quest to the points where you had issues. If you are still having issues in the same spots, then we will at least know where the issues start for sure. After that, we can rule out a save game issue.

First off, no offense, but you need to put your load order and logs in a text form that people can read without having to download anything. As for your bash problem, I would suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling it. Make sure you have the latest version as well. From personal experience I recommend the standalone version, but both are great. Finally, to your crashes, about how many mods are we talking here? Also, how often do you crash? If you have a heavily modded game without a proper bash patch, you can expect crashes. If you are only crashing once or maybe even twice an hour, there may not be much you can do. That is assuming your crashes are random. Is there any consistency to your crashes?

I don't mean to divert attention away from what ripple is telling you, but I believe you most immediate problem is not directly related to the dirty files in your boss logs. They are an issue, but if they were the main cause, I can't see how they didn't affect you before you got to whiterun. Did you fast travel there when you got there? What I mean is that right before you started having issues, did you actually walk up the hill and through the gates or did you simply fast travel into the city? Also, after you were in the city, did you install any mods? Are you able to fast travel outside of the city? This is actually two questions. Can you fast travel somewhere far away like solitude or even riverwood? Can you fast travel to the whiterun stables? If you can get to the stables via fast travel, can you then run up the hill and get back into whiterun? Basically, these questions will help us determine where your issue could be. If it is centered around whiterun or if its everywhere; that sort of thing. From my own experience, the plains around whiterun use to be a huge issue for me back with I had the a lot of larger mods installed. Also, as Ripple said, can you go back to an earlier save? EDIT: Final question on mods for now. Exactly what version of Claralux is that? If it is V4, then that either is or will become a problem in the future. You should at least switch to V2A as it has more stable scripts. Speaking of scripts, any chance we could get a crash log? Just one should be fine for now, but if you want, you could get a couple and compare them for us and let us know if they have any major similiarities.

After sorting, do you still have crashes?

First off, Gopher is a guy lol. Secondly, I am glad you found a fix, but I would be willing to bet there is another way around it that doesn't involve a new game. Gopher fixed the issue without a new game, but like I said earlier, I am not sure exactly what mods were installed and then uninstalled to fix it. Glad to hear you fixed it though.
-
I can't confirm it as I haven't had it myself, but I believe I have seen the glitch you are talking about in some of Gophers "Let's play" videos. I remember he uninstalled several mods trying to solve the issue. The only thing is he did remove ASIS but that was for other reasons. Looking back though, I don't remember seeing the issue much after that. Not much help I know, but it is a problem others have seen. Start with ASIS and see if the issue goes away. Remember to uninstall it properly with a clean save.

It may sound stupid, but have you actually discovered them yet? It had to be asked lol. Have you used the tmm console command and reset your map markers? As said above, more info is needed. Do you use any mods that alter map markers?

First off, what exactly is an "unsteam supported version of Skyrim"? I admit I could be wrong here as it has been a while since I looked at Skyrim being sold, but last I heard, there was no supported version that did not require steam (on the pc at least). Even the games for windows version I bought (basically the cd version from a store) requires steam. It would be interesting to see if I could get a copy that did not require it and was officially supported. As for your problem, have you made sure you updated SKSE to the latest version? The newest version has a number very similar to the last one, so not many people realized there was an issue. Just go download the latest version and install it again just to make sure. Are you making sure you launch Skyrim from the SKSE Launcher? Again, downloading the latest version will insure you are launching the proper version. I will wait till you respond to my first question about the version of Skyrim you have before I say anything more on that. All I will say is that to the best of my knowledge, SKSE does not require steam, but if your Skyrim is different, there is that chance.

Wrong idea man. He is crashing when he is in game (when he is starting a new game). From his discription, he is crashing while in the cart with Ulfric. @ OP You are crashing at one of the more fragile areas of the game. The beginning isn't like a normal games cutscene. It is more like a very complicated dance that the game makes NPC's do. Change even one thing, and the whole "dance" falls apart. You need to enable logging and give us a crash log. From there, we can start working on what mods are giving you issues.
-
Have you made sure NMM is installing the mods to the correct place? Also, do the mods you are downloading even have esp/esm's? Some mods are only textures etc that you would have to dig a little deeper than just the data folder to confirm the install. It could also be that the mods you are downloading weren't packaged properly for installation. Its a rare thing but it is possible.

Blue Screen Hard Crashes, Can't Find the Issue
bigv32 replied to rolson3's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I agree with bben46. It does sound like a temp problem with your system. While I would also agree with it probably a gpu problem, you shouldn't ignore the possibility of a cpu temp issue. You might was to also check those temps as well and compare them to what your cpu is rated for. I'm not sure of your cpu rating, by in general, I always advise keeping the temps below 60 degrees Celsius. Are you using the stock fan/coolers for both the cpu and gpu? How many fans are on your case? -
Very nice. Its not that I am not open to moving at the moment, it is just that I have a good load order already set up that doesn't crash. However, next time I reinstall, I will definitely try it. Right now I am treating my Skyrim data folder like fine china and not messing with it at all lol. Thanks for the help and advise.

I'll definitely take a look at it. I may be moving to the Mod Organizer instead of Nexus Mod Manager. It is suppose to be able to have two seperate load orders saved with different mods, so I will give those a go. Good luck and remember if you add mods, make sure that if they are big overhauls, you check with all the tools out there and only install one at a time lol.

Four hours straight is very good considering what you did have. At a certain point, you are going to crash even if you didn't mod the game. I currently have one of the most stable load orders I have ever had in any game and I still have a crash every once and a while. Any log for the last crash?

Glad to hear your problem seems to be better now. I may have to download the ERSO mod just to see what it does. I had honestly never heard of it before. Good luck. Any more questions, you can just message me or start a thread and then message me the link in case I don't see it.

Okay, so it would seem you only have issues if you run the patcher AFTER you alter something in the creation kit correct? When you did this, did you overwrite the mod (if you were altering something from a mod) or did you create a whole new esp? Either way, I am assuming that esp you altered was above the patcher before you ran it? When you say you altered the spawn weight, did you do this in the esp you made/altered or was this an ASIS thing? If it was something you did with ASIS, try to change it back and rebuild the patch. When you are testing something like this, only try to alter one thing at a time. It sounds like you not only added a new esp (or altered one) but you also altered a major setting in the game/ASIS. The esp issue would be easy to track, but with something as big as the spawn setting, it makes it far harder to find the issue. It is a common mistake to try multiple things at once that make it hard to track problem. Just so you know lol. I'll check back in one more time tonight, but other than that it may be a late tomorrow before I can check back in.

First off, sorry for my first question in my first post. It was suppose to say: 1. Is that LOG from when you first start the game and are trying to get to the main menu or is it from when you are trying to load a save game? The log you posted above. What where you doing when it was made (the game crashed)? Where you loading a save, loading the game itself, or just walking around Skyrim. My bad, typo. Now, just out of curiousity, are you Russian or using the Russian translations for these mods? I only ask because I think some of your mods are the normal English versions. I don't care what language you use lol. Just want to make sure we are on the same page. You can install the unofficial patches anytime and it will be fine. The patches aren't like a normal game patch. They are just mods that fix things. I can't recall ever finding a major mod that conflicted with them to the point that it causes CTD's. As for the ScriptDragon, I am not entirely sure if it is still updated or if it works with SKSE. I never used ScriptDragon because honestly SKSE was made by guys I trusted as they have been doing it since Fallout 3. Now for your last post: The mods you listed are interesting because first off, I have never used any of the ERSO mods. However, after looking over the link you gave me to that mod, all those modules change a lot. This may be a troubleshooting solution found by pure luck. I would start off by disabling all those mods except for the ERSO modules as those should not be conflcting with the rest of your load order. If you still crash, we may have to keep looking. Anyways, assuming you don't crash, just activate the other mods one at a time until you crash. When you crash, move the mod you just activate up or down (either above or below the ERSO mods). Worst case scenerio which might actually be the best idea here. Assuming you can't live without the ERSO mods, deactivate every single mod you have except for those modules (you can keep the unofficial patches installed). If you are stable with just those mods, start adding one or two mods at a time. let us know what happens and how it goes.

Vegata, just so you know, when we are telling you to uninstall a mod here, we aren't telling you not to play with them. We are trying to figure out if those are the mods that are having the conflicts. When we determine that they are the ones that are having problems, then we figure out why. Once we know why we will know what other mods they are having issues with. Only then will we know what the problem is/was and how you can go about fixing it. In over 90% of the cases I have seen and had with mod conflicts, CTD's are caused by conflicts involving the major mods such as frostfall, ASIS, warzones, etc. However, it is usually that this conflicts are caused by those mods conflicting with other smaller mods. Once you find out what mods are involved in your crashes, you can pick which mod you must have or manually fix the issue. Also, installing mods after removing mods while trying to determine what the issue is is never a good idea. I have seen people asking for help on here before, and when you look over the whole thread, you see they have uninstalled some mods and then reinstalled them while also adding other mods. A couple of more things that aren't exactly related to this thread, but are useful. @Ripple. You have mentioned MO a couple of times. I am seriously considering trying it out, but I have read a couple of things that say it can cause issues with BOSS and TEXVedit. Also, if you alter a mod in one of these, it does not save these changes to an esp controled by MO. Any info on this? Also to Ripple or anyone else. Has anyone ever had an issue like in this thread? http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/884556-mods-not-quite-playing-right-together/page__p__7096225__fromsearch__1#entry7096225 It is a save game issue, but I have never heard of it before now. You can skip to post 6 or 7 as that is where the issue is clarified better. Thanks

I would normally agree with you that ASIS is the problem or at least not part of the solution, but in this case, I don't know what to make of this. ASIS in my experience causes conflicts that result to CTD's on loading that happen everytime or cause huge amounts of ingame instability. In this case, you have neither of those things. As for the AI not using potions etc, that is probably just a limitation of the game. A perfect example of this is something I have seen in many of Gopher's Let's Play videos. He gave his companion mage spells which were far better than the ones he was using, but the AI would still use the default spells most of the time. ASIS I think just increases the odds, but the game itself is somewhat flawed in this respect. Not being able to load a save unless you load a previous save seems very odd to me. I honestly have not heard of this before in Skyrim. I did have a similar problem in Fallout3, but I never did figure it out because I was extremely new to modding and save games etc. One thing you can do to help speed this particular process up is to load the save that is earlier, go to a very small cell such as a house or something, use the pcb console command, and then save the game. This helps a little by making the save as small as possible so it takes less time to load. Getting rid of everything you have outside the cell can help slightly, but that is probably not noticable. When editing a mod in the creation kit, I too have had some issues in the past. For some reason my mod managers would freak out on me and I would have issues with that one plugin. What I now do is make my own plugin and just make the mod I want to use as a master file. This way the original mod is still there. In the future, I would recommend doing what I see Gopher doing when he plays. He never copies over a single save file (except the quicksave). Everytime he saves, he makes a new file. Granted, he has or had over a 1000 last time I saw, but it should not affect you at all. When you are done with a playthrough, you can delete them if you want. Note: He also does this for is other video series so he can show different things, but the theory behind it makes sense. If I was you, I would start a new thread devoted entirely to this new save issue. This will help get more people involved and clarify the issue so we are not looking at a load order issue like we were when we first started this thread. If you do, post a link to it here for us.

If you don´t mind humoring one more idea. Disable frostfall and any wearable lantern mod you have. Just do it for a little while and see what happens. While those logs show error, one individual error like those is not to much of an issue at all. Sometimes I have noticed with errors that after awhile, you computer basically gets sick of having so many errors and says ****** you lol.
-
Okay, just to clarify, I want to make sure I understand what is happening. From the way I understand it you are only having crashes when you attempt to load games. However, once you do get it to load, you are perfectly fine. Based on that, is this one specfic save that you have issues with it? I mean, does it mean you can´t load this one save ever or just every once in a while, you crash when you try to load it? If you can still load it but only crash once in a while, it is probably not a load order issue then because if it was that, you would not be able to load the save at all. This could be a save game issue. Do you save your game using the same file over and over again? Also, do you use the autosave feature? NOTE: When I asked above whether you are having trouble loading just one save, I should have been clearer. Do you have any trouble loading saves that are all from the SAME playthrough? I am asking it this way because even if you make a new save file from a game that has had save issues, you will still have those issues. Let us know because if we can determine its a save issue, normally it is far simpler to fix. The only problem is it usually means that a new game is required because faulty scripts are still stuck in the game save itself. Let us know.
-
Where exactly are you when you crash? If you are anywhere with Mannequins that is modded, then that is probably your issue. Do you own any of the vanilla homes? Turn off any form of autosaving. Use Boss if you haven't. Rebuild you bashed patch. If you are getting that large of papyrus logs then I think you playing at least 20-30 minutes between crashes unless the whole log is fill with Mannequin error in which case youcould only be playing 5 minutes. Are the crashes confined to one location? If so, can you coc out of that cell and be okay? That's all I can say till we find out where you are and what you're doing when you crash.
-
There we go lol. A location that is a consistent problem is something we can use. If you can keep repeating this in the same area (roughly) and getting logs, then we can be a little closer. Also the fact that you crashed after (what I am assuming) is two new games gives us some more to go on. Let us know if you still crash there when you coc. That area is an area where a lot people crash when there are conflicts because it has a mix of pretty much anything in Skyrim (Snowy weather up the mountain, npcs near Whiterun, a possible dragon spawn, tons of water, a village with plenty of npcs, and a ton of wildlife from land to water to birds.). In my experience, the only other place in the game where I have had more crashes in the plains to the west of Whiterun. Save before you get to the area where you crash so you can do tests quicker. If you are crashing around the bridge or riverwood, try disabling only these four mods and see if that helps. Fantasy Music Overhaul (Skyrim use to have issues with some sound mods, so this is just to be safe for now) ASIS Skytest Skyrim Monster Mod Just do a quick test by just disabling the esps in your mod manager of choice. No need to uninstall them yet. Just try it and let us know.
