  1. Youve been working as a pleaser of the elderly women in exchange of money for your services. Then the greybeards summon you and you automatically learn levitation, fly up to high hrothgar and lvl up to 80 in full animal print speedo gear cause you just got sexier and you know it. Jks, love this idea, maybe not that many start positions, since its a lot of work I imagine, but maybe 3 or 4 extra different beginnings would be nice.
  2. I think I understand the reasons why Bethesda avoided attributes like STR INT PER, etc., regarding the Oblivion leveling system, yeah it sucked. Buuuuuut. I strongly believe these attributes couldve been implemented into the game without breaking the pace of leveling "as you play" , instead of Oblivion's skill "farming" for extra multlipliers. My point is, maybe someone could step up with a mod that adds those attributes to the game. Not only for leveling deph purposes, but another reason (and important one) is that these attributes helped to define what kind of person was your character like, as in which physical and mental attributes has he/she developed. For roleplaying purposes this is great, since you may be a little bit more specific in your mind about what type of hero your character is, and ends up becoming. Maybe his STR is huge, therefore his physical hits are tremendously powerful and he can carry the heaviest armor with a lot of carrying capacity left. Maybe his WILL is his top attribute and magic barely damages him, and his destruction spells are more effective and less mana costly. Maybe his PER is extremely high and he can talk his way out of any situation or debate, maybe even getting better quest rewards. It could be developed in a way that attribute points are the same every level (maybe 5 points per level). And you can just distribute them, then choose between health , magicka, stamina, and then add a perk. Just keep the rest, and add the attribute system. Also birthsigns as something permanent would be nice, its a critical choice at the beginning of the game (or it was), and it affects a lot the way your gameplay goes against different types of opponents. Its part of what your character is in battle. Attributes can get involved into every single aspect of the game, and they can affect everything, thats why its so fun to have them and develop them as you see fit every time you level up. Its a lot of work, of course, I just want to know (I have never modded anything, just used lots of mods for Morro and Oblivion) if its posible to develop this in Skyrim, and if theres anyone willing to take up that job. The introduction of attributes, along as a character creation more similar to that of Daggerfall's (character background, attributes, bonuses, disadvantages and advantages depending on choice) would be amazing to mold a better immersion experience, and overall a better rpg feeling into the game. What do you think? One strike assessed for persistent bumping. It's against our rules. -myrmaad
  3. I dont see the confusion in this... they just capture you because they cant be sure about anything. And they want to execute you because the imperial captain is one of those OFF WITH THEIR HEADS! a#$holes
  4. Bethesda shouldve opened a thread like this before they started making Skyrim =P
  5. I agree with cold, with my archer its really nice to be able to plan out my assault, prioritizing targets and setting out an assault path. Especially with forts. It would be nice to have that, maybe not having to equip it instead of the weapon, just hotkey it separately from favorites and use it whenever u need it. A fast, simple, reliable spyglass feature. Would be really nice to help with immersion too.
  6. Id love to kick guys in the nuts, punch a girl's boob and smack children's head with my hand. Priceless free laughter
  7. :o thanks! I noticed hes still working on the limited versions. Will keep an eye on that, since unlimited rings is too much lol
  8. Aura whisper wont tell you if its a guard, a mage, a necromancer, etc.
  9. Well this is kind of obvious, Its just retarded that we cannot equip more than 1 ring at the same time, having 10 fingers for it. Obviously not asking for us to be able to use 10 rings, but maybe 1 per hand, or 2 per hand. Makes sense doesnt it? Maybe tune down enchanting in order to achieve it with some balance.
  10. Xcept not everyone has Eagle Eye perk for obvious reasons... so thats irrelevant. It would be really handy in order to evaluate tricky situations before charging in.
  11. Ok Aedred, so if youre talking about this pure dragon race, instead of dungeons and those types of locations, what are we to explore as full fledged dragons? I mean, it sounds fun, but how does it become a deep experience other than flying/attacking people and dragons and lvling up?
  12. This is exactly what vanilla skyrim lacked of, which ruined immersion for me and I dare say, most of the roleplaying loving TES fans. It would be just genius to pull it off, and turn this game into what it shouldve been.
  13. Thats a marker set on the items you have labeled as "Favorites", they appear on the favorites menu once you open it. You know, for quick access
  14. Unless the race has a fully playable human like version form, its pretty retarded not because of towns, just because of the fact that dragons cant enter dungeons because they wont fit, with a very few exceptions in some chambers. Then again, I dont see the fun in being a dragon all the time unless its a half elf/man and half dragon race, because as a pure dragon, all you would be able to do would be fly around and breath stuff on people - maybe fight other dragons? But thats about it, pretty sure it gets old really fast. So basically, anthro Dragon race = Win Pure Dragon race to play the game properly = retarded unless your fun scope is really narrow
  15. Old underwater dwemer ruins with dungeon structures resembling bioshock's Rapture (not in decorations, but in design overall, creepiness, claustrophobic atmosphere) would be nice. Also a reference to Chtulu, maybe a big quest involving meeting him in some sort of way would be cool eventho its not lore friendly, but i think its something that can be introduced without conflicting with the lore of Nirn
  16. Xcept this isnt D&D and Bethesda can do whatever they please about how their dragons look like. Go play D&D if you cant take it. - Immersion breakers -Continuity errors -Short and dumbed down questlines for console gamers (dear god this gets worse each year gaming gets more retarded)
  17. I had complete shutdown problems at first, I just upgraded my PSU and added 2 fans for case ventilation (of which I didnt have any, except for the ones that come wth the PSU, GPU and CPU). Stopped having problems completely. I can run skyrim on high with tons of mods, 58-60 fps most of the time. I know people are saying that their gpus dont overheat with skyrim, as they do with other games like crysis 2 which they can run with no issues, but remember skyrim is a CPU heavy game, CPU overclocking with poor ventilation, or weak CPUs, even with powerful GPU's, could force machines into crashing or just shutting down (the later probably a PSU issue) . Also, most people think they own a 600 watt PSU, not taking into account the quality of PSU's efficiency. If your PSU's efficiency isnt good enough, even if our PSU says its 600 watt, it will only give you like 350 watt average depending on the brand, and this is really common with generic PSU's, or PSU's that come integrated in the PC case when you buy it (generic brands). Im not saying this is an issue for all of you, but I started raging about Skyrim since it came out, and it turns out my rig can run it with no issues, it was just a PSU problem, since I had a crappy 600 watt-with-no-efficiency-whatsoever PSU, I just upgraded to an 80 plus certified 850 watt PSU, and got some fans for ventilation (didnt need them, just crossed my mind while at the shop) and everything runs smoothly, btw these fans lowered the temps of my GPU for about 8 degrees Celsius at full loads (a coolermaster 120 mm and a generic 9mm fan). Also LOTS of tweaking afer gaining a stable Skyrim running, in order to improve my fps up to 58-60. Youve got to get to know your rig, and work with it until you get your desired results imo, not all fixes and mods will do wonders with all PC's. So try everything you can before you give up, and enjoy this great game. (Finished it before on 360, but theres no comparison, PC version ROCKS , even without mods just because of the better graphics) Btw my gpu is a Geforce PNY Gtx 550 Ti (900 mhz fabric OCd) - and my CPU is a Phenom X2 555 Black Edition 3.8 ghz (unlocked to 4 cores and overclocked) PSU is 850 watt Transformer Pixxo. 6 Gb of Ram
  18. I'd recommend getting a dekstop gaming PC, some laptops may be able to handle the latest games, but Im asuming you dont own one of those. And If youre getting something for gaming go for desktop, since desktop can handle gaming stress much more efficiently than laptops, these tend to overheat a lot and their gpu start failing after a long time of power gaming on them. Not to mention eventually you will need upgrading after a few years or so, and its way easier to upgrade the parts of your desktop than upgrading to a brand new laptop.
  19. Y'all used to play Skyrim, until you took Bethesda's arrow in the knee... again.
  20. So yeah... I upgraded to a 850 watt Pixxo PSU ( I know its not the best brand, but I was short on budget and Ive read good comments on this specific model) Everything seems to be running smoothly, not a single shutdown issue after a full day of gameplay. ( On high settings with mods)
  21. Um I said maybe PSU would be the issue for some people's RESTARTS and SHUTDOWNS, never talked about BSOD or Desktop Crashes. Please read comments appropriately before you reply guys. This thread was started regarding complete PC shutdowns and restarts due to skyrim, not BSODs or similar issues, and thats what I was referring to in my post.
  22. So well, Ive been following this thread since it started, and tried everything. I own a PNY NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti with AMD Phenom II X2 555 BE unlocked cores, and I had never had any issues whatsoever with any game as many of you. At first it was just shutdowns and stuttering, and I tried everything, til Skyrim just ended frying my PSU. Then I got in contact with my best friend, who works at Microsoft, and well lets just say he knows his s***, his advice was to upgrade to a more powerful PSU, since the last PSU I had was a 600 Watt one, but it was the one that came integrated with my PC's case, since as he understands it, Skyrim is not a game that relies on extremely powerful graphics like other games, but its a game which functions are complex in a way that they needs both CPU and GPU at full working power, eventho they dont really get to the overheating level (along with a probable bethesda/drivers f*#@up helping this issue to become worse, like unstability due to bad coding). So, even if our graphics card can handle skyrim easily, if our PSU is one with poor efficiency , even if its 600w, it will shutdown. Im upgrading to a 600 w Cooler Master Silent Pro soon, will let you know how that works for me. Just throwing this out there as a probable cause of most shutdowns, Im not in any way implying this is a solution, but its worth a shot for everyone to check out if your PSU is efficient enough and can handle a full charge on the whole system eventhough youve got good GPU's, which mostly we do. Eventhough this could be a PSU problem, I cant believe Bethesda left this hanging for so long, without maybe not taking guilt, but at least trying to help us PC gamers out. Any info on this would be appreciated. Good luck guys, will be checking thread during holidays.
