Didn't work. I still have no Data/Scripts folder or Data/Scripts/Source.
-
So after Steam updated the install, I got a launch.exe. I still had no Data/Script or Data/Script/Source folders. I do have Data. So I created the Script and Source folders and dropped the SKSE files there, as well as in the main. So I have an skse launch, but it launches into a tiny window that I can't expand. Any ideas or help? Thanks. Maybe I need to launch the game for the first time? I'll try that.

I have a retail copy I bought new. I insert the DVD to install and a Steam screen loads. If I install there I have no Data/Scripts folder to drop the SKSE PEX files and, of course, I have no launcher or anything in the main Skyrim Common/Skyrim folder. I

So I just reformatted and I"m reinstalling. When I first installed Skyrim on 11-11-11 it installed on my hard drive first, before connecting to Steam. Now, however, it goes directly to Steam. The Skyrim Script Extender says to load the .pex files in Data/Scripts. There is no Scripts folder in Data on my hard drive. Can I not use any mods but Steam mods? Any help is appreciated. Many thanks.

How do I give Malborn my equipment with a 360 controller? Apparently, this is a chronic glitch with both Xbox and PC users with a 360 controller. Am I wrong about that? Every time I ask anyone how to give him my equipment, I get the brilliant response "It worked for me!" I know this is an old problem, but what is the solution? Thanks very much.

I have had three chronic problems for weeks: -- frequent crashing when with a companion -- dragons not giving me their souls -- Miraak bugged ending and I can't complete this dlc So I deleted all my saves and started the game all over. But the very first dragon outside of Whiterun did not give me its soul. I started over again, this time disabling Dragonborn.esp. Now, no crashes and I get dragon souls. For me, Dragonboard is permanently disabled until a patch comes along.

Hi all, I have played through Dragonborn four time. I love it...except for the bugged ending for me. I'll be general so I don't spoil--but those of you who have played will know what I mean. At the end, the only way I can continue is to step in and resurrect him to continue the battle...but ultimately, this doesn't work and there is no way to kill him. Even the setstage commands do not produce the desired results. Anyone else with a similar issue? Thanks.

Right, Rivatuner is for Nvidia, TwiXX is for AMD Raedon. Hope it works as well as Rivatuner. Thanks.

Before i download and start using TriXX to overclock my Sapphire Radeon HD 6870, I thought I'd check in to see if anyone uses it and how they feel about it. TriXX site: https://www.sapphireselectclub.com/ssc/TriXX/ Thanks.

I am running the USKP. Thanks for the tip. Maybe I'll reinstall all my mods too. :) -

Dragonborn crashed every 15 minutes for me, and I have no other mods running. At the end, I could not complete it. Miraak wouldn't leave his invulnerable state for anything, and I tired for hours in all suggested ways and from all saved games. Sucks. -
Closed most of my mods and the DLC only crashes every half-hour or so. I can live with that. Turning off mouse accel has helped too (I thought I did that a year ago, but maybe the patches overwrote it). So I'm back in business. Just got my word in the Sanctum. Looking for some action. Haven't found one amulet yet.

Unfortunately, I'm crashing a lot. I mean a lot, so I must have a conflict somewhere. I have only a couple of mods running. I did start from a clean save, though. Must be the mods. I like what I've done so far, however, about an hour or more in. I never played Morrowind so the nostalgia is lost on me. Correction, I tried to play it just before Skyrim came out, but couldn't get it to look good or run well on my Win 7 PC. Should I play it on my son's Xbox, or will it look too dated? Even the fully modded versions I've seen today look dated and two-dimensional. Anyway, tonight I'll solve the conflicts I hope and enjoy Dragonborn even more.

I pre-paid (Steam, PC) and got the DLC on time. I started playing. Crash after crash after crash. They are still happening every 10 minutes or so. Needless to say, all that crashing distracts from immersion and gameplay. I don't want to present spoilers, but I've done the initial three quests leading to the main one. I find this DLC linear and not very interesting at all. As far as crashing, I have virtually nothing running at all. I even sent my companion packing. Am I missing something? Anyone else crashing like it was 11/11/11? Anyone love his DLC? That said, based on the trailer, I think the plot gets more intense to the max. And more crashes, I'm sure.

does anyone mind dragonborn is delayed because of ps3?

I'm getting a thick skin about this crap. From the unholy bug swarm mess with Fallout New Vegas to Skyrim to this...feh, we're dealing with a medium that is out of control of itself. Doesn't seem to matter who produces, big games are late, buggy, and arrogant about patches. Yet still we have Steam, rock-solid between us and our own properties. I see advantages to Steam, I do, but I would love to choose. I just went through holy hell trying to sync steam with Windows Live to play Bioshock 2. What a nightmare. Anyway, that said, the games are great. Really great. Ultimately. It might take five years off your life to get them running, but we're lucky to have some wonderful games coming around. -
I ran Skyrim from day one with no problems...no crashes....no freezes....retail disc....Steam , of course, may they rot in hell....no problems. Along comes Dawnguard....I shut down ALL, REPEAT ALL, my mods. Crashes within ten minutes, horrible, awful. Erased Dawnguard .bas and .esm, even restarted Skyrim from the very beginning....STILL I get crashes...not as often, but regular. I played Dawnguard with all of that...having the restart so many, many times. It is a good DLC story-wise. But WHY the technical problems? Do I need to wipe my entire machine and do a clean install of WIN 7 64??? wtf. Now Hearthfire is on the horizon? There is NO WAY I'm buying that. I mean, how can Steam support the very mods that are potentially causing conflict with the DLC's they want to sell?? This is crazy. How many mods do you run? I run less than 10. Please. Is this the future of gaming....to develop vanilla? If so, it's a war. Any other insights?
-
Aarrgh! I'm an idiot. I went into Steam and did the cache integrity---it found two files missing....guess which ones? That's right, Dawnguard began downloading again and I can't seem to stop it. I can pause it. I'm letting it run, then I"ll just delete the .esm and .bsa again. Steam is insidious and unrelenting. There are fewer pros than cons for me. I just want my single game, I don't want a forced marriage!!
-
Thanks very much!

I did exactly that. I deleted the esm and bsa files, as well as deactivating the mod in NMM. I then reloaded all the mods, then updated skse. I started the game from skse shortcut and all looked well (I got the usual screen about content has changed). I immediately saved the game, logged out, then reloaded and went back in. Everything has been great so far. I love Serena as a follower, I really do, but the crashes were really ruining it all for me, after NO crashes at all since 11/11/11. I hope this works and I'm back on track. If not, you can bet I'll post again. Thank you for the help.

Played through most of Dawnguard and its radiant quests. But the crashing and freezing is killing my spirit. Plus, I turned off ALL mods to play Dawnguard, and now I want them back. I *thought* I deleted Dawnguard and I reinstalled (note reinstalled) Skyrim, but Dawnguard loaded back up from Steam. So, how to I delete Dawnguard? While I wait for your answer, I'm deactivating it in NMM and deleting every system folder and file I can find. Thank you.
-
I disabled ALL my mods and reinstalled Skyrim and Dawnguard...and I still crashed and had freezes. Until I remembered the .ini changes I'd made. When I re-enabled mouse acceleration, Dawnguard worked 90% of the time, only an occasional crash, which happens only since Dawnguard, so I figure I'm stuck with it.

Crashing whenever the game reaches 1.3gb of memory adress?
AbleGnome replied to Nuserame's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I'm right behind you. -
It's Dawnguard. I had no problems until Dawnguard. Now I'm running with no mods at all active and crashing every 10-15 minutes. When I throw my keyboard through the window, then I'll wipe it all and start all over again WITHOUT Dawnguard. BTW.....I am not doing any Dawnguarrd quests anymore. I just have Serana following me.

AbleGnome replied to Nuserame's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
No solution...but I am suffering the same thing. Thank you for posting. I have a similar setup, but 8 gig RAM. Skyrim ran like silk from day one for me....until Dawnguard. I'm at the point of wiping it all and reinstalling without Dawnguard and starting this whole game over again. I have no mods at all activated, but I understand that even if the files are still there is can be a problem. How do you test that. Also...WHY? Steam supports mods, so how they be causing any problems with a DLC they sold us? I really feel ripped off. I wonder if the XBox folks are having similar problems. Any help out there? Thanks. -
I have NO mods running (except Dawnguard) and I get CTD frequently. I've turned off everything...shadows, unchecked Data, etc. I had ZERO problems until Dawnguard. This game is freaking cursed. There is no let-up of problems.
