  1. sounds like shrapnel: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37342 When you downloaded shrapnel, did you download and install both parts? The M thing might be AWOP but, i honestly cant remember
  2. AWOP has become a staple of the mod community for new vegas: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38719 Same with Monster Mod: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41361 Also, shrapnel has a mod that adds tons of NEW guns: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37342 ... but if your tryin to get away from caliberx(?), WMX and WME are both excellent alternatives: WMX - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39651 WME - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37576 There are patches, sometimes listed sepratley, that enable wmx, wme, shrapnel, monster mod, as well as a host of other mods for AWOP
  3. I dont know if you looked into smaller stuff... but as far as homes go. you really cant go wrong with underwater v3-4: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36121 But if you lookin for more rugged / tough / lore these worked well for me: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38103 http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40720 As far as armors: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41990 http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35740 http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34683 http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39013 ahh roomates callin me back to black ops...
  4. Do you have a better description? Are you talking about coyote reflex here: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39013
  5. Its from TG's armor collection here: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35740
  6. I dont use FOOK so im not sure on that one. But i use AWOP and IWS and MoMod together; there's even a patch so that u can use IWS and MoMod in the underground area of AWOP. Project nevada has the potential to conflict with a lot of smaller stuff and i used it for a while. I know that it conflicts with Advanced recon armor on the HUD, and thats the only reason i got rid of it. If you FOMOD install project nevada and go to the menu, it will show all of the things it does and you can see what it has the potential to conflict with. as far as fellout Vs nevada skies, thats a personal preference; i prefer nevada skies but you'll see just as many endorsments on both. But i use the URWL nevada skies with the Darker nights for URWL mod. While your at it though, you might check out Shrapnel: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37342 Its BoE 'esque and ads tons of real guns to the game. There's also a patch for shrapnel to be used on AWOP. But that gun thing is just a preference of mine, some people prefer WMX, or WME. both of witch are real popular and have patches for AWOP
  7. I noticed you are using IWS high spawns, are you running FNV-4GB? I bet you, thats whats causin it. If your not, when you load a save game, go to the wasteland and pause. Hit alt-tab and open your task manager. Look at fallout new vegas and see if you are close to 2gb used. if your close, and using high-spawns, i bet your runnnin out of memory.
  8. This sounds very cool. I dont know if your worried about conflicts with creating new buildings and other mods but i'll share what i know. The only thing i see thats a popular mod in freeside that might conflict is liberty loft, which modify's a building slot http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41822 ...And the coyote reflex power armor, which is in the trunk of a car in freeside.(but is usually sitting next to it) http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39013 thought i'd share your redux sounds very cool.
  9. I know of two: There's IWS - Increased wasteland spawns which has four seperate esp's for guards, patrols, enemys, and settlers; as well as three degree's of spawn for enemys. (i think monster mod, and AWOP has a IWS patch too) http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38623 But if you just want the friendly's you can just use the corresponding esp. There's also warzones, but i dont think thats what your talkin about. Bethjunkie probably knows better than I.
  10. Thanks, y'all have been very helpful. I guess this is just a bit beyond my expertise at this point. Is there a better tutorial for basic script creation than bethesda's, theirs assumed you know all the commands?
  11. No, im not quite sure how to do that? Im not quite sure what you mean by ref
  12. @sunnie Yea, its not saving it, which doesnt make sense to me because its an exact mirror of a working script. I even placed the item i meant to script to in the companion inventory hoping that was preventing it from saving and that, of course, wasnt it.
  13. I've sucessfully created both RR and NCCS companions. I Found the teleporter script found in both DL "Jade" and DL "eve" to be very beneficial as it is an object that simply commands that the companion move to player. It reads like this: --------------- scn JadeTeleporterScript Begin OnEquip JadeREF.moveto player End -------------------- I've created a new script for my created companion that reads like this: --------------------- scn JillTeleporterScript Begin OnEquip JillREF.moveto player End ------------------ I have ensured that both the id number for the companion and the name are "jill" to aleviate any confusion on my novice scripting ability and when i click the picture of the disk to save, i get nothing. According to my reading, that means that something is wrong in the script and the geck simply wont save b-cuz there is an error? Does anyone know what im doing wrong. Im having trouble copying script too. i highlite the text and am not given a right click option to copy and am unaware of the command to copy. i checked the offical site tutorial and did not come away with much help.
  14. i mean, everything is already there in the vanilla geck the orange jumpsuit, the glasses, the crowbar... Im doing the tutorial on how to create rr companions, and i think i'll make this my first posted mod. thoughts?
  15. This may help. in the RR companion "tutorial file" found below, there is a instruction manual on creating your own companion. Now this might not be very useful to you cuz you have no intention of creating a companion, but about three quarters of the way down the basic instruction file, the author goes thru three ways to copy faces in the geck. http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36230
  16. Does anyone know where the facial presets for each race are in the geck? and is there any way to transfer them directly to npc's? *edit* found them under the "all" search for preset im an idiot... this thread is deletable...
  17. There's a rather large mod called shrapnel here which has 100+ real guns including the ump and adds them to the npc inventory. http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37342 there's a smaller mod called zl armaments which has a few variations of the ump and a few other guns here: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39883 If your looking for the intervention from mw2 then look no further than here: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40990
  18. thanks, i guess its not available elsewhere? kudos HA! found it, but i dont speak russian he he he
  19. Alright, i thought i was pretty good at findin' stuff on the nexus and this one's been tough on me. Its just a pair of pants seen on this mod / photo number 4 http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36674 Ive seen it elsewhere, it seems retextured here / photo number 1 http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35602 i scowered the fallout 3 nexus to see if it was a port and was, alas, unsucessful anyone have any idea?
  20. Im definitley an amateur, and i know my way around the geck enough to snap a few walls together and edit basic stat info. stuff like that. Im trying to duplicate a set of armor and then change the script for it and save it as its own esp. I know all the steps except what key you have to actually use to duplicate the armor. Im trying to duplicate it so that i dont have to re-enter all that little info. anyone know what button it is?
  21. start with this: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38132 Its a one stop shop instuction manual for instructions on creating your mesh and text folders and activating archive invalidation. it should also instruct you to download and install fallout mod manager here: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36901 about 10 percent of the mods in here use nvse. to be more accurate, about 80 percent of the good mods on here require nvse. you can download and install it for free here: http://nvse.silverlock.org/ if you have more questions, shoot me a message
  22. I noticed this same problem once i started running a lot of mods. I found out recently that the game default will only let the up to 2 gig's be stored at a time on your ram regardless of how much ram you have. there is a DL here that when dropped into your new vegas folder, will tell the game to allow up to 4 gigs to be placed onto your ram during game http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35262 this will only work if you have a system that has 4 gigs of ram or more and the ram sticks are capable of cross communication. they must be DS10 If you are running NVSE like me, you will need the alternate loader which you can get here if you scroll down on the webpage you will see the DL link. http://nvse.silverlock.org/ I have a ton of mods and my game would crash every 5 - 10 minutes before i put this on. Now it never crashes no matter how much i put on it. If this doesnt work, i have a few other suggestions. just let me know.
  23. you dont by chance know of a website tha has a good ds10 dll replacer gengerator do ya? the only one on the nexus i could find is the one for ds9
