  1. American Southwest, same issue. Tried changing servers and such. Looks like someone forgot to pay the server bill.
  2. Yeah, so there use to be a way to stop tracking all the files per page. The check boxes. Is there anything like that hidden in this new design, or do I have to click stop tracking on 84 pages worth of mods, one at a time? Or better yet, a way to stop tracking all the files for a game (like when you un-favorite it).
  3. Figured it out. Apparently in VUI+'s readme when it says you have to reinstall all UI mods after uninstallation. It literally means ALL UI mods. Any mod that effects the UI has to be installed. That includes JIP mods and simple mods (like stimpack counter).
  4. So, I installed VUI+ to try it out. Decided I didn't like it and uninstalled it. Thing is, it won't go away. Whenever I launch New Vegas, I get the whole "VUI cannot find settings, blah blah blah". I've uninstalled and reinstalled Darn and the Darn Fonts for Dummies. I've uninstalled and reinstalled UIO. I've rebuilt my ini files. I've tried everything except uninstalling the game. I'm using Mod Organizer.

  6. Every file (large and small) I try to download off of OblivionNexus is corrupted. Every stinking one.
  7. There's some serious issues with the site right now. Go to this thread and report it.
  8. Can anyone point me in the direction of the BOE Shojo Scouter fix. I've tried Googling everything I can think of but I still can't find it. I know it use to be on Nexus but I can no longer find it.
  9. It's a good game, and I don't regret buying it release day. However it didn't live up to all the hype (but neither did Oblivion), and certainly didn't deserve game of the year (I personally believe Deus Ex: Human Revolution deserved GotY).
  10. I believe there are a couple of potions in there called phantom form or something like that. Go back and pick those up. Might help. Personally I didn't have any issues with this quest so I could be wrong.
  11. No, that is business. It's not an evil plot - it simply is business. Why do you folks still think, there's some moral at play? The whole reason why business exists is to make money for it's owners. Satisfying the customers is a way to make even more money, but it's not the purpose. Steam workshop, as far as I see it, is some kind of brainstorming to use in future products. The fineprint will strip the uploaders of their rights - that's a given - but money is probably not it's immediate goal. Again, worst case scenrio. We, the modding community, do not know what the CK's fine print is yet. However, Hammer's fine print (now I could be wrong, it's been awhile) states that the create of the map/object/ect is the sole owner of that creation. Now, lets look at Garry's mod. From what I remember, Valve cuts him a check from the sales that it (the mod) makes. A mod using Hammer. Valve's CS/CK. Now I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound that bad. Does that mean Beth will follow suit? No. But it does look good. No, it doesn't. They can do whatever they want with their own property. If they want to take everything from you there's not a damn thing you can do about it! Btw, make me a Werewolf mod. :P Really, that's your rebuttal. Wow, you are the worst troll ever.
  12. The only bug I've run into is the "Can't rename self enchanted weapons/armor" which has aleady been fixed. You know, if you go over that list slowly, a lot of these so called "bugs" are acctuly game mechanics that people just don't like. Like Destruction magic nop scaling. Not a bug, a feature. On top of that, there are a few on there that are UDI issues that can fixed by removing the U from the DI.

  14. Yes, but have attempted to contact Steam support with this issue? Personally, I feel that they would want to know about an issue such as this.
  15. That much is obvious. Frankly I'd rather be a fan of a game than a fan of Steam but that's a personal choice and we can all respect that. There is no need to get all riled up about people not liking a software that is forced upon us and does nothing to make our games run better. I most certainly am not, and nor are the other knowledgeable and intelligent members of this community who are experiencing the issue. If we are clever enough to make, test and fix mods ourselves, we certainly know how to make Steam not update. It's known as taking it offline, that is the ONLY way to make it cease and desist. It is indeed the only way and the "Maybe your doing wrong" argument is not relevant when this has been pointed out repeatedly by many long standing members of this community. Has anyone attempted to contact Steam support with this issue? Anytime I've had an issue with Steam as a whole, they've been quick to assist me.
  16. No? Do yourself a favor and work some years in the corporate world, favorably in PR. It might be a long needed reality check what a company actually is and what it isn't. If there's money to be made it will be made. They're not friends to invite over for some beer, they are responsible to their shareholders. And no, I'm not talking about Joe Developer. I'm talking about the people you don't see. But these are the people actually pulling the strings. Yes, that is the worst case/doomsday scenerio. Steam Workshop will simply be another place where you can upload your mod. SImply that. It's not an evil coprate plot. It's convience, plane and simple. Now, if Sony/Microsoft lift their bans on mods on their perspective systems, yes, I can see Beth milking that for all that it's worth.

If we are clever enough to make, test and fix mods ourselves, we certainly know how to make Steam not update. It's known as taking it offline, that is the ONLY way to make it cease and desist. I honesly don't kow what to tell you. Have you tried installing Steam into someplace other than Program Files (x86)? I have mine installed under C/Games/Steam.
  18. I honestly believe that Bethesda thinks highly of the modding community, and I just can't see them lowering themselves to the point of trying to make money off of others peoples hard work. And no, Valve (the guys who own Steam) don't pay me. I'm just a fan.
  19. Oh dear, another person who thinks that actually works. It DOESN'T, at least not for me and most of the people I have spoken to. It didn't for FONV and it doesn't for Skyrim. You have to take Steam offline or it merrily ignores the "do not update this game" command. I've heard of this issue before, but on the six computers I've had Steam on I've never encountered it. Maybe your doing wrong.
  20. Do have a Facebook account? Gmail/Hotmail/Yahoo Mail? Do you use Internet Explorer? Do you own a cell phone? Everything in this day and age keeps track of what we're doing and where we're going. Do you get paid to use Facebook? Do you get paid to IE? Do you get paid to use Google Search? All these programs/websites and more log what sites you visit, what site you came from, and what your going to. There is a constant flow of data on the internet. Everything you do is logged and sold to someone somewhere to make products/commercials that are tailored to your taste. This is a practice that has existed for many years before Steam was even thought of. It's the way of the world. As far as ScriptDragon, LAA and such, how is anymore convoluted then setting up Oblivion? Wyre Bash, TESEdit, 4Gb Patch, BOSS, ect, ect.
  21. So basically your upset because Steam makes life easier? Good lord man, just admit you wanted to start a troll thread and we can all be on our way. I can't get on the game because it's downloading something... how is that easier?! I could have put it on myself overnight... Granted I'm new to this but man, it's a gaming culture shock, and I'm not impressed. Aaah, so the issue is, the game is updating but you want to play it now, correct? Well, how is that any different from playing the game while you download the patch then applying the patch? You'll have what, three, four minutes extra of gaming time? Really, three minutes, that's what you're upset about? Amazing. You don't have a job yet do you? Have to drive to work in traffic? Waiting is part of life, it's something you're going to have to learn to deal with. Or.. You're upset because you have to download the game? Well, you don't. You can buy a hard copy of it and install it. Sir, all your arguments are invalid. I have won this debate. Please see yourself out the door and I will bid you adieu. There is a difference between being forced to patch a game and choosing when you want to patch it. Steam doesn't let us choose and the only way to have a say in that matter is to keep it offline. By the way when you've had a long day and spent some time stuck in traffic the last thing you want when you finally get home is not to be able to play the game (that worked perfectly fine the day before) because you have to wait for Steam to patch it. Waiting may be a part of life but some of us wait enough irl to simply want a hassle free gaming experience that doesn't include getting locked out of the game we've been playing the night before... Especially when the extra hassle is caused by some piece of software that brings nothing to the game. Oh God another one. Please pay attention because I will I may lose you with this. 1. Start up Steam 2. Go to the Steam Library (where your games are kept) 3. Right-Click on Skyrim (this works for all games in fact) 4. Select Properties from the drop down menu 5. Select the Update Tab 6. Look closely, there will be a box that asks if you wish for Steam to keep this game up to date, turn that option off. 7. Click OK There you go, now the game will only update when you want it to.

I walk I don't drive there. I have a hard copy of the game. And the wait is 6 hours. Sorry to rain on your parade, SIR. The door's this way! Follow me! Your arguments are still invalid. Anything you say from here on out means nothing. NOTHING. You have been officially branded as a troll and will be treated as such.
  23. 1. Have you verified the integrity of the file cache? 2. Do you have mods installed? If so, did you download BOSS and sort them? If so and you still have crashing issues it's probably incompatibility amongst the mods Post the load order and I'll see what I can tell you.
