@Jimmy, I know this is anecdotal evidence but I have been having this same glitch as OP ever since a month after launch date. Sometimes it decides to load the correct texture but more often than not I get that black texture on codsworth. I've also seen it referenced by others on youtube as a "well-known bug." Anyways, just thought I would throw that out there. Have a good one!

That is because Fallout 4 is not supported yet. And the author doesn't know when it will be.

With Great Khans having made it all the way to the Commonwealth it would help explain why there is plenty of jet to be found.

Would the files that are needed possibly be like the make up colour files in the main game? All you need to do is edit the colour files themselves to make them brighter/darker/funkier once found? It's simple to do in the CK once you find the colour files.

So is 3DSMax 2013 "better" than the updated versions? Or just "more" compatible?

I have this same problem too. I thought it was because I had conflicting mods, or because I've been merging mods together to make room for more esp's. But even on a fresh install of fallout 4 it happens.
