I'm sure we all have that same error. But yeah, it's due to the Steam Summer sales; a bunch of people I know just got the game for $2.50 and I recommended this site to all of them. -

NMM version 0.44 released, new file servers and site updates
GothikaGeist replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
In response to post #7506572. 100% agree. -
@major9686 Delete your Browser cache. It fixed it for me :D And thank you Dark0ne, for all the work you've done, and give my thanks to the NMM devs!

Whatever it is, right or wrong, it is in this modding community's best interest to just let it go. Either we argue with 2K about our right to get their $5.00 DLC this way and possibly lose all hope of getting modding tools, or we make nice to get our hands on some true modding tools.

new vegas crashes at startup
GothikaGeist replied to enclavemike45's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
There should only be an FNV.esm in your load order. I don't know what the Falout.exe is doing there. -
new vegas crashes at startup

Verify your game cache with steam. -
I don't think so, I'm running an AMD Radeon 6750 and I default to Ultra with maxed out settings as well.

Your Load Order isn't correct. Make sure all ESM plugins are at the top of the load order and load FalloutNV.esm at the very top. -
Graphics card is not being recognized
GothikaGeist replied to carlc1993's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Have you set it to "Best ZPerformance Power Plan" or whatever? I'll search some stuff up. So from what I've read, try opening up your BIOS and search for a setting to "set" either the integrated (Intel) or dedicated (AMD) videocard. Here's something good: http://forum.noteboo...phics-card.html that guy is trying to switch to intregrated graphics card, the reverse. Apparently if you have XP you need to go into your BIOS and go under the DISPLAY setting and change your video adapter. In Vista (and I'm guessing Windows 7 as well) you change your battery output to it's maximum setting (best performance or whatever) "Yes, if you are using Vista you can get to the option by left clicking on the battery icon near systray then select switchable graphics then "Energy saving" If you are running XP then you can't do it this way, instead you have to go in bios to select this option. Press F1 to go in Bios and then go to Display section and disable switchable graphics and select integrated." [Remember: You're doing the reverse of this.] -
Graphics card is not being recognized
GothikaGeist replied to carlc1993's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Just to clear things up: What's going on is that laptops automatically DISABLE the gaming video adapter to conserve battery power, when they do that they fall back on their internal graphics adapter (In this case the Mobile Intel HD Graphics). So if that is a gaming laptop with the secondary (Gaming) video adapter then try going into your PC's POWER settings and turn 'em up (More battery use) or look for options pertaining to activating the gaming adapter. (There were a few technical supports about this before, maybe try to search this forum for the answers as well) EDIT: Just to further clear the air of doubt here: The age of the video card should not matter. You said you run an AMD Radeon HD 6490M? It should pop-up as AMD Radeon 6400 Series. And I'm personally running an AMD Radeon 6750 which is recognised correctly as a AMD Radeon 6700 Series. EDIT: Oh, and with those listed specs you should definitely be able to run the game, you FAR exceed the minimum requirements. -
You should try the Western Sky 3-4 Beta and see if it helps fix the issue. ;D

http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc447/GothikaGeist/BodyTextureProblem.jpg http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc447/GothikaGeist/ScreenShot9.jpg http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc447/GothikaGeist/ScreenShot10.jpg So as you can see in the picture above. The head is correct in color but the body is not. Although I'm not completely positive that I do have a body replacer mod, I'll check in a moment, but I heard that "ESMifying" any mod with this problem solves the issue, but how would I even turn a replacer mod into an ESM? I have also tried making an ESP AND ESM with the "Can Be All Races" flag checked, which didn't help. Any Ideas? I'll put up more pics soon. As you can see from the lowermost picture, even in vanilla NPCs have mismatching heads and bodies, any suggestions, hints or clues? Ok so I just extracted the default headhuman.dds and upperbody.dds (Both for "normal" females) and I used the Eyedropper tool in Photoshop to manually see if there was any major color difference; and there wasn't. Therefore this it isn't the textures that are screwing up, the engine is. Suggestions people, throw 'em at me... please? :D Oh yeah, I forgot to say: In that first pic I had both a "custom" head and upperbody. In the second, only a custom head. In the third, pure vanilla.

Texture compression?

Turn up your Anisotropic Filtering. I'm not sure what you should do about Fallout not recognizing your video card though. Maybe try the nVidia driver fix...? -

Crashing on start up
GothikaGeist replied to Evilryu808's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
It happens when a master file (.esm) isn't at the top of the load order in the correct place. For example. If yu just bought the game and any DLC's (assuming you bought DLC's) You Load Order would be Like this: Fallout NV.esm, Dead Money.esm, Honest Hearts.esm, Old World Blues.esm, Lonesome Road.esm, (When read from left to right: Left = Top, Right = Bottom) -
Gotta bring this one back to life: I've tried re-installing New Vegas, but no luck. However, I have to add the fact that I simply re-installed the game over an existing installation, should I uninstall it first? (I fixed the problem the first time (As stated above, which was many months ago. But I just built a custom PC and reinstalled New Vegas and all the mods and when I finally got to the Readius, this happened)

Well I've custom built a PC and retired my old Dell. And I can say with certainty that the game is essentially crash free and even runs at a steady 60 FPS with all settings maxed out including textures (Ultra), LOD's rendering distances(As far as possible for every setting), etc. Not a single performance issue thus far. But I have a theory: IF you have Windows 64 bit but have fallout installed within the regular (x86) Program Files folder, won't that lower the amount of memory the game will be allotted? I remember playing on my Dell (Windows 7 32-bit) and the fan would start blazing as soon as the game starts running. But now I can Run fallout NV, with the GECK running, and Minecraft paused in the background. ABSOLUTELY NO PERFORMANCE ISSUES.

Verify your game files with steam and see if that helps.
