  1. Back to Fallout: New Vegas
  2. Edit 2: Disgregard this. Turns out there were two duplicate "official patch" entries in the list. That was throwing up the error. Can't believe it took my this long to notice them. Too bad I can't get to the Black Emporium but hopefully there isn't anything too interesting in there. I hadn't used my gaming PC in over a year but I just decided to play DAI again. I started it up and had a save right at the start with a character I liked the look of so I decided to carry on from there. When I got to the war table I tried to go to the Black Emporium but it would freeze while loading. I googled it and found out certain mods cause that. Then I found the Mod Manager and disabled a few mods that changed the MC's appearance (I'd noticed she had modded hair). Thing is, the mod manager got an error message, something about the index. The merge wasn't completed yet it messed something up because I couldn't load my save because it was from the wrong version (as in, a modded version, obviously). I messed around a bit but couldn't get it to work. I repaired the installation then tried disabling ALL mods - the merge worked this time. So then I tried re-enablng the mods - same error again. Oddly I could load my save, free of mods, without getting the wrong version error message. The catch is my Inquisitor looks ridiculous now so I don't want to carry on with it as it is. Right now I'm redownloading the whole game rather than just repairing it. If this doesn't work, is there anything else I could try? Edit: So after reinstalling everything, the mod manager still gives out the same error message. Any idea what's going on here?
  3. Are you using a pirated version? The game hasn't used Games For Windows Live for a long time now. It changed to Steamworks a while ago. Anyway, you also need to turn off anti-aliasing in the in-game options. Remove the DSfix files and do that, then put the files back again. If you are using an older version 'cause you've pirated it, that could also be the problem.
  4. You can reinstall it from Steam, you don't need the disk at all. You can even make a back-up of the game on DVD from Steam.
  5. What's a good magic mod? One that makes the weaker schools (e.g. Destruction) more viable at higher levels, and perhaps one that makes magic more interesting to use in general - though in each case, hopefully without overpowering it (as I've heard most magic mods tend to do). Thanks in advance for any help.
  6. This mod was abandoned by the author, but has been continued and improved upon here. But other than that (which I'm now downloading) we have the same mods. The Realistic Needs and Frostfall improve the game so much, in my opinion.
  7. I've had similar things. This is meant to be Markarth, and that bald floating head is my (usually not bald) character. http://steamcommunity.com/id/teclo/screenshot/649871336295867461?tab=public
  8. Yeah, I use Frostfall. It adds a lot to the game since the different regions really are different regions, rather than different coloured floors, and it really does feel like an adventure when you go up into the mountains.
  9. I think it's more like "sell to the biggest market first, and get a big exclusive bonus on top". Either way, it's hard to care since this is the first new content console owners will have got since the game launched (outside of patches).
  10. It's a Korean singer called IU. I've never really listened to her music, but as you say, she's really cute.
  11. I think the UESP WIki has the quest ID for every quest in the game.
  12. I collect books and gems, but that's it really. It'd be good if there was more rare/specific loot for each enemy you can kill, like a trophy that has a very low drop rate.
  13. I was actually just thinking this. Couldn't it be made so you can tick what languages you want to show up in searches? People that speak German (for example) can tick German, or perhaps people that don't speak German can set up a filter to not show results with "German" or "Deutsch" in the title.
  14. Well I think they could create cars, since the other things they've made are far more advanced than the technology at the time of the invention of cars in reality. I mean, if they can make a machine that turns a load of gears and makes a robot walk around, they can turn gears that turns wheels around - it's far simpler. However, cars are so strongly associated with "modern times" (even though that stretches back quite a long way) that it would just jar badly, as InuyashaFE said. I think they can get away with the robot things because they seem almost like magical suits of armour, which fits into the fantasy genre more easily.
  15. Annoying response, I know, but have you tried just restarting your PC? It can be the miracle cure to all sorts of problems.
