  1. Don't believe there are enough badass weapons out there in the Mojave? You may want to check these out. This thread is for posting weapons you'd like to see in New Vegas, whether it's classic firearms, sci-fi weaponry, or just a good ol' bonk stick. Anything goes. I have no experience making mods, but hopefully you guys will find these weapons interesting enough to try your hand at making them or at least supporting them. Pictures and desired in-game stats are optional, but encouraged. These are some concepts I came up with myself, though I cannot take full credit for the designs as they are edits of pre-drawn models from www.heromachine.com. I think the pictures and descriptions are pretty much self explanitory, but I'll add in some base stats for you. Five Finger Hurricane An experimental handgun with 8 rounds and reliable accuracy. Damage : 64 Ammunition : .45-70 Gov't Ammo Capacity : 8 Attacks Per Second: 1.4 Reload Time : 3 seconds Spread : 1 Item HP : 88 Hellbroom Shotgun This weapon is mostly meant to be a revamped, upgraded, and slightly larger riot shotgun with a gold plated receiver. Damage : 72 Ammunition : 12 gauge shotgun shell Ammo Capacity : 16 Attacks Per Second: 4 Reload Time : 2 seconds Spread : 2.25 Item HP : 185 Blacksquall Light Machine Gun A high powered fully automatic rifle/LMG hybrid with dependable accuracy and a decent rate of fire. Damage : 42 Ammunition : 5.56mm round Ammo Capacity : 100 Attacks Per Second: 14 Reload Time : 2 seconds Spread : 0.80 Item HP : 920 That's all. If you guys like these, please give a comment, recommend, endorse, what have you.
  2. I have no experience making mods, but hopefully you guys will find my outfit concept interesting enough to try it. Here's what I had in mind, basically an original outfit stylish and effective enough that it could rival the Elite Riot Gear of Lonesome Road. To break it down, you're looking at one long near ankle length blue denim coat, one light armor breastplate, one brown leather flight jacket style undershirt, two metal arm bracers (only one with the use of the Pip Boy), one pair of light sky blue cargo pants, one dingy tan scarf, one pair of shiny copper goggles with mirrored, tinted, blue/gray lenses, two light weight metal knee pads with black leather straps around the leg, two brown leather straps with buckles with attached light weight metal shoulder pads and frag grenades (use of the in-game grenade model is intended) along the abdomen, one leather belt with assorted pistol rounds across the waist, two dark boots with leather buckles and brown bottoms, and two dark gloves with metal accents and bolts along the knuckles. Also, it would be cool if there were two versions of the scarf, one that covers the face and one that leaves it open. It would also have the following stats. Here's an alternate, possibly better idea for what the bandoleer could look like. Stats Light Armor Damage Threshold : 18 Weight : 18 Item HP : 740 Effects Guns + 3 Energy Weapons +3 Melee + 3 Explosives + 3 Perception + 4 Critical Chance + 5 If you guys like this idea, I ask you to give it some thought, publicity, comments, whatever. Thanks for reading!
  3. So, I've played Fallout 3 in windowed with the second highest resolution available (1280x960) to me and it worked quite well. Now that I have New Vegas I'd like to do the same, as the all the full screen resolutions feel a tad cramped, horizontally scrunched, and/or blurry. Not only that, but the game seems much more stable and easier to, shall we say, escape whenever it freezes. For instance, sometimes it likes to linger on a loading screen until eternity or I do a hard restart because I can't minimize the program or see anything behind it. The only problem I'm having is that when I play in windowed mode, I can't adjust the window's position like I could with FO3. The way I repositioned FO3 was by pressing the Home key to bring up a Games for Windows Live menu, then click the top of the window panel and drag it where I like. I can't seem to do the same with NV though, nor can I simply click and drag with the window active or inactive. Any suggestions how to do it?
  4. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to retexture the the elite riot armor from Lonesome Road to the same color scheme as the merc troublemaker outfit. :) Maybe make the metal armor itself a shiny cold gray instead of that weird pale green. http://images.wikia.com/fallout/images/d/dc/Elite_riot_gear.png + http://images.wikia.com/fallout/images/5/5d/Merc_troublemaker_outfit.png = ?
  5. Slightly improved sleeker design, the original was removed from the first post in favor of this redesign. Also I double posted by mistake, so yeah...
  6. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the Blacksquall. A little product of my imagination inspired by some of those new vegas weapons. It is my own original concept, but I don't claim it as an original design as I did not draw it, I simply selected a few bits from other predrawn models and pulled them together in MS Paint. This weapon is meant as a light machine gun with both a hefty rate of fire and firepower, something faster on the draw than those sluggish miniguns that have to crank up, but bigger and badder than those commie relic assault rifles. I suppose it could use the same 5.56mm round as any standard assault rifle, probably use those for repairs too. Maybe stick a nice fat bundle of ammo next to the gun, around 500 rounds. Ammo capacity should be around 50 rounds, or maybe 100 if you used a double drum clip like this. http://cdn.armslist.com/images/posts/634441345177524022iy1lnyoo.jpg If you're interested in this mod, I respectfully encourage you to endorse/support or try your hand at building this. :) You may also want to check out my other proposal thread for an awesome custom outfit. http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/399205-the-legendary-wanderer-outfit/page__p__3289923#entry3289923
  7. No, I only put all the pieces together. I can't take credit for the actual design of the clothes and accessories, they were predrawn models used in a character generator called Hero Machine. Check it out! :woot:
  8. So, this is only my second post. I had started another thread for a proposal for an improved look for the Mercenary Troublemaker Outfit, but then I decided why not pull together some ideas and show off a fresh concept? I have no experience making mods, but hopefully you guys will find my outfit concept interesting enough to try it. Here's what I had in mind. To break it down, you're looking at one long near ankle length blue denim coat, one light armor breastplate, one brown leather flight jacket style undershirt, two metal light armor arm bracers, one pair of light sky blue cargo pants, one dingy tan scarf, one pair of shiny copper goggles with tinted blue/gray lenses, two light weight metal knee pads with black leather straps around the leg, two brown leather straps with buckles with attached light weight metal shoulder pads and frag grenades (3 per strap) along the abdomen, one leather belt with assorted pistol rounds across the waist, two dark boots with leather buckles and brown bottoms, and two dark gloves with metal accents and bolts along the knuckles. Also, it would be even nicer if there were two versions of the scarf, one that covers the face and one that leaves it open. I haven't given much thought to the stats of the outfit itself, perhaps just make it identical to the Brotherhood's Recon Armor. The effects would be the following: Small Guns + 8 Big Guns + 2 Melee + 5 Explosives + 5 Perception + 4 Charisma + 3 If you guys like this idea, I ask you to give it some thought, publicity, comments, whatever. Thanks for reading!
  9. I like this idea, too. Could there also be different style and material versions of the coat, like leather, denim, camo, stuff like that?
  10. So, let me start by saying this is my first post. Hi. :) Secondly, the merc troublemaker outfit has got to be just about my favorite in the game for several reasons. One, the mercenary theme is great for neutrality which this game excels upon. Two, the bandoleers and shoulder pads of the male version gives the player a very serious "I've seen it and killed it all" look. The only thing I think could improve it is if the outfit's jacket were longer, about the same length as the colonel autumn outfit reaching around the player character's shins. You could perhaps even take the bottom half of the colonel's coat below the waist and just retexture it (to include replacing those star spangled buttons) to match the merc jacket. It would also be great if it came in different styles and colors. Like blue, gray, and bleached denim, and black, red, and brown leather and a unisex version of them all. To anyone with the know how and interest in this, I ask you you to try it out. Here are some images of the outfits in question just for reference. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110407192540/fallout/images/thumb/5/5d/Merc_troublemaker_outfit.png/800px-Merc_troublemaker_outfit.png http://images.wikia.com/fallout/images/b/bf/Colonel_Autumn%27s_Uniform.png
