It's funny you mention that Arthmoor, because a lot of what SKSE does allows modders themselves to fix a crap tone of bugs Bethesda themselves refuse to fix in their own source code. If I was Bethesda and a smart programming designer with the source code. I would use the SKSE to go through the implementations and find out what kind of wholes we have and look at improving it.

Example: Small fixes like dead body collisions. Why is that important? Because it should already be in the game. It's 2017 and they should have had that in the game engine since Oblivion. Another gripe which they finally fixed in FO4 and the update for Skyrim SE. Rain going through the roofs. I mean it's simple things they could use SKSE to use and go through their engine to see what needs to be fixed, but they don't do that. They still have stupid crap like that not in their game is ridiculous.

There is a limited amount of developer time devoted to post-release patching. So if you were a Bethesda programmer, you'd not be given the chance to do as you say. You get paid to do what the boss tells you to do, and if he tells you to stop patching the game, you stop patching the game. If you defy that, you get fired. That's reality. It has nothing to do with them being lazy or incompetent.

Dead body collisions? NO THANKS. Dropping a dead dragon in the middle of Falkreath would be highly disruptive to navigation. That's not a bug, it's an intentionally chosen mechanic of the game. You as the player may be able to adapt easily, but the NPCs can't, and Bethesda has to think of them too.

Rain occlusion though I'll give you. That's a 15 year old feature of any decent RPG with weather included. They simply chose not to enable the support for it. Gamebryo itself has been able to do this all along. So they still didn't need the SKSE team to fix this for them, and as examples go, it's a poor one because SKSE doesn't provide rain occlusion for those games that don't have it.

The only thing off the top of my head that I can think of at this moment is that reload bug that adds perks to NPCs. Meh321's "Bug Fixes" remedies that, and I wouldn't mind having it on SE.

But that's it! I like a lot of SKSE features, but as far as bug fixing goes, that's it for me. They already fixed the other problem he addressed in Bug Fixes (Lip Sync).

  2. I am anxious for the new mod Beyond Skyrim - Bruma to be released on SE.

Anyone else eager to play the SE version?

I tried too, but the one slight bit of jerkiness turned me off. LE just isn't very stable for me (or at least with my ideal load order). And I don't have to have a Potato. It's just is what it is. I'll wait for SE. I'm desperate for Bruma and maybe a comprehensive town mod (ETaC? JK?).
