  1. In response to post #54764888. I really like your (B) alternative. Makes the description easier to focus on.
  2. In response to post #54723318. #54726623 is also a reply to the same post. I like that. I don't like this. In fact I didn't realize that your example had 3 files until I realized there was another main file under the expanded one. Files are still a major issue in the new Nexus design, the whole thing is wasting too much horizontal space for no reason. Who cares how many " DLs " a file has, all I need is Name, Version, Description and a download link.
  3. I'll use this mod as a reference to my points. I'm using my personal computer for this review and I'll also try to write another one with my experience on my phablet. REPORT is the first link in a mod's description. I don't think this button should be anywhere in a mod's description but placing it in such a prominent location may convey bad faith to mod authors. It's better to move this functionality in the same place with other Nexus administrative actions such as unban requests etc. The DESCRIPTION tab now contains extra elements such as the short description, the SHARE button, Permissions and credits and Mirrors. Many mod authors, including myself, consider this page to be exclusive to their editing. For example I do include the short description in my long description but with additional formatting and links. Perhaps you can create an extra tab for all those details. On the FILES tab, the MISCELLANEOUS FILES are collapsed. This makes browsing their descriptions difficult to read since I'd have to expand each and every one of them. On my mod this isn't a big issue since those files are patches and their name conveys what they are, but in some mods it's important for them to be displayed. Can you expand them by default or provide a button to do so for all files ? On the IMAGES tab, I really don't think it's necessary to enforce the 16:9 ratio in images by displaying that gray background around them. Considering that Nexus supports all kinds of games and many games are not made for this resolution, you can simply remove the background. Of course you can keep your grid based on 16:9 if that's necessary. The image preview is probably the weakest point of the new design vs the old one. Yes, it has bells and whistles, but for many mods, including my example, images aren't showcasing photos but screenshots and can include a lot of important details that the user is supposed to read. Try to see this image in the new design and the old design and you'll see that my comments are lost under the thumbnails bar. And even though I can hide the thumbnails, the function to do so isn't quite obvious and there are still header and footer overlays on my images. So, please try to find a solution to display images with a minimal amount of extra elements (the front/back arrows and a close button are OK). Replies to comments at POSTS have a very narrow indentation and this makes it difficult to discern an original comment and replies to it. That should be easy to deal with by expanding the indent, but if you could switch to a threaded type of discussion like Reddit at some point that would be royal... LOGS looks great but I would rather split Author activity, User activity (for uploaded media) and Endorsements into separate categories. Finally, the footer section is too big and rather redundant to be displayed on a mod page. We already have the links at the header menu. This footer is fine on the main nexus page, but on our mods it can be safely removed or at least turned to a collapsed link. The new design is overall impressive and a great improvement to the old. You had some real guts to allow the entire browser width to be used for text. I haven't seen that in a site for a long long time. Thank you.
  4. I didn't know that and it's great news. GOG is one of the best things that have ever happened on PC gaming. I've updated my mod for FO3 and NV with your links for those games. Thanks for the update!
  5. Unfortunately your only option is to use an older save. On the bright side: there's nothing wrong with your installation location.
  6. @Bukklas, PipBoy Readius is known to cause such conflicts with other mods.
  7. @OlChorstBreech, "coc novac" at the start menu is crashing your game without a single mod ? While "coc goodsprings" doesn't ?
  8. Based on that single screenshot 10.
  9. In response to post #50816822. Congratulations! It's a great game and I hope you enjoy it!
  10. In response to post #50676477. https://levelskip.com/consoles/I-prefer-GOG
  11. Being able to buy Fallout 3 and New Vegas for 20 dollars from an ethical vendor who doesn't force useless/annoying code on your personal computer is a great start for this Summer :) Thanks for the news TerrorFox :)
  12. In response to post #50031637. #50032802, #50039597, #50040132, #50040682, #50041942, #50058997 are all replies on the same post. That's probably the best answer I could hope for. Thank you.
  13. In response to post #50031637. #50032802, #50039597, #50040132 are all replies on the same post. This is a very bad thing to do. This invalid code is now spreading on the Nexus as some authors claim that it's actually the right thing to do since others are doing it. Of course that means FOMM users will now have to "upgrade" only because their mod manager refuses to run pizza-and-beer declarations. And the typical advice provided by authors of such mods would be to use "a modern mod manager". I hope Vortex won't do this.
  14. In response to post #50031637. #50032802 is also a reply to the same post. Really ? I'm using NMM Legacy and as far as scriptless installer declarations go, it seems to perfectly match FOMM.
  15. Does Vortex adhere to the FOMM XML schema for mods that use it ? Or does it allow invalid installer declarations to run on it when they would break FOMM ?
  16. Too many mods. Mods such as InigoPerkPointGiver will effectively cancel Requiem's intended balances that we work and playtest so hard to achieve. Cut in half, to say the least.
  17. Excellent suggestions by Dubious. VUI+ has two conflicts with oHUD: 1) The interfaceshared.tai file which enables the optional "no undiscovered locations" feature and a fix for filled squares on list items in New Vegas. I have merged oHUD additions to this file so it's always best to overwrite it when asked. 2) A special patch for oHUD and JIP CC&C. This is silently installed if oHUD is detected and allows oHUD to work with JIP CC&C. This isn't really required by VUI+ and can work for plain vanilla users as well. It does not affect the operation of oHUD in any way, just allows JIP CC&C to insert its own code into the HUD. So, overwriting oHUD with VUI+ will actually improve oHUD.
  18. Better Pickup Prompt is an excellent recommendation. There are also those great Minigun and reload fixes and of course EXE. New Vegas is a great choice for mod authors who are looking for a game that's meant to be modded for fun & play.
  19. Arthmoor, period.
  20. In response to post #43213925. #43215075, #43215235 are all replies on the same post. While I would never expect anyone to use my mod only, it would help a lot if the manager software would make it more obvious that bug reports for a mod should only be based on that mod alone plus a few "defactos". I respect your experience on the field but I should point at the obvious, mod authoring should not be a job. Or at least it isn't, yet.
  21. I personally don't use mod organizers so I wouldn't be interested in this news article, but there is a feature I'd like to request that could immensely help mod authors, especially for Skyrim. Would it be possible to implement a "test this mod alone" function that allows players to test a single mod (loaded with its required files only) for bugs and pack their saved game along with any required config files for bug reports ? Sometimes users don't understand that mod authors are not modding their load orders but rather Skyrim. Yes, some mods such as the USKP or SkyUI can be taken for granted -- "should" in the case of the USKP, but otherwise it's a shame for an author to be wasting their time finding out issues that are not their own responsibility. Mod organizers have, indirectly and without any intent, contributed to this issue by offering a simple interface that makes installing any mod a breeze, and I believe it's due to this ease of use that we see those huge mod lists in the last years. Perhaps it's time users become aware of the implications of this, and mod organizers would be the perfect way to tell them.
  22. Too much meme weirdness, too little interesting talk. I would suggest that you start kicking anyone trying to attract attention with nonsense, if you really want this to become the place where mod authors meet.
  23. I like it. I'm generally not very fond of change, but this looks really nice.
  24. I have fixed this bug for the vanilla game + DLCs in my Vanilla UI Plus mod. As long as your recipes don't have too many ingredients to require a scrollbar, the player will not be bothered by the annoying sound, nor will the recipe list be locked on the current recipe. The trick is to enable the "RM_Items_IngredientList" hotrect only if it has a scrollbar by adding this line: <_enabled> <copy src="child(lb_scrollbar)" trait="visible" /> </_enabled>
  25. In response to post #39713565. #39713835 is also a reply to the same post. His point, however, raises another one you can't simply disagree and be done with. What about their permissions ? For example, I see that in nexusmods.com/starwarsbattlefront/mods/260 you're stating that "You are not allowed to upload this file to other sites under any circumstances". Who said that ? The original author or Nexusmods ?
