  1. "it will be intertwined with Vortex." Does that mean it will be restricted to only Vortex, or will other mod managers be able to implement mod packs (given that they follow a set of rules, use particular APIs, etc.)? Although I haven't ever used a mod list or yet wanted a mod pack, so I guess I'm just curious. Then again I believe many current users of other managers might just migrate to Vortex for the next modding sandbox game by Beth. I know I will.
  2. In response to post #65246771. Many banks offer a prepaid gift card you can use for online purchases and for which you should be able to pay in cash. You can search online to see which banks around you offer this service.
  3. Not to mention how incredibly helpful he's been with his mods even in little things. Glad to see this well-deserved appreciation post.
  4. I'm just entering this here to reduce everyone else's chance to win by 0.00000051% (1392 so far).
  5. I didn't know the global priority worked like that (I hadn't tried it yet). That sounds way more painful than it has to be. It'd only be good for load-first or load-last situations.
  6. Dashboard -> Game panels should be more of an overview about the game and your mod stats, currently it's just a link to the modding tools for the game, which should just be in the mods tab. Mod sub tab -> Shouldn't be an overlay, especially one that hides the most important buttons in the mods tab. Overall -> Context menus are a part of nearly every OS, even mobile OS. It's simply quick and convenient to have everything related to some thing be as close as a right click on that thing. Vortex won't need to be online once we're done with the limited alpha.
  7. You're saying equality constraints translate to "loads at", we already have kind of a "loads at" in the form of global priority, don't we? However if we tell it to load a mod at say pos. 10, it should automatically change to pos. 9 when a mod before it is removed, rather than load the mod previously at 11 to load at 9, which could break our original mod. We could have an expanded inequality constraint, tell it to load mod D after mods A through C that are already LOOT ordered, it would reduce the number of individual dependancies that we have to set. It would also remove the problem in which you add or remove anything between A and C and have to make additional rules. It could be a "soft dependancy", kind of a secondary ordering once all masters and dependants are sorted by LOOT and only if it wouldn't go against one of the primary, required ordering. At this point I'm just wondering out loud though, this kind of thing might be hard to make fool-proof. Oh and isn't CSP a high school level topic? If it's not, it should be.
  8. You guys realise Vortex has support for third party extensions right? I'm in no way a programmer but I don't think it's too far fetched to assume we'll have some third party extensions to make it do what we want it do, eventually. Like drag and drop load ordering and support for other mod sites (possibly, that one might not happen). And as for right now, we already use 12+ different tools to mod Skyrim, you know you could just disable auto sort and fire up Wrye Bash to drag and drop plugins?
  9. Vortex also supports separate profiles with separate mod installations and saves. There are other problems with Vortex, but virtualisation and profiles are not two of them.
  10. Vortex on C:\, mod storage in E:\, mod installation on H:\. Vortex is handling this perfectly.
  11. Vortex supports Global Priority for mods, which means you can force something to load last, first, or seventh. The only time I needed visual reordering was because merge plugins needs the plugins to load consecutively. Visual reordering could be added behind a hidden advanced mode though.
  12. Vooooorteeeeex I mean, Good luck in 2018!tex
  13. In response to post #54933313. #54933668 is also a reply to the same post. It's not putting files directly into the data folder, they're links. This means that if you uninstall a mod that was winning a mod conflict, it won't leave a hole where the file was, instead the mod that was losing the conflict will take its place, and you can uninstall/reinstall mods in peace.

He's already mentioned that you can set mod conflict victory, not exactly a mod install order, but you'll get the same end result.
