  1. Nice necro posting. Thanks for reminding me to unfollow this thread.
  2. Check this thread - he's redesigning and will re-release. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?showtopic=4566315&hl=+renthal311 I'm not sure how much of his stuff he will get done, but I have asked if he would be willing to let others distribute any of the original mods that he does not re-upload.
  3. Thanks for the update again - the communication from you guys is fantastic. Good luck implementing the CDN!
  4. Thanks for your efforts, thanks for keeping us informed, and good luck with the proposed changes!
  5. Thanks for the honest update Robin - appreciate it.
  6. In response to post #15481740. #15482485, #15497340 are all replies on the same post. Thehorn2000 - no. Most gamers - especially experienced ones - do NOT turn off anti-virus and firewall. Certainly not when playing online games. An experienced gamer will tweak their OS/Hardware to provide the best possible results whilst AV/FW are still running, and treat THAT as the safe baseline for system performance whilst gaming. For offline games only, in theory you could run a full system scan, then if all is clean, physically disconnect your network (pull the cable/disable the wireless card), then disable the AV/Firewall - and don't insert any removable media whilst playing. Once you finish, enable AV/Firewall again before reconnecting to the network. When playing online, just suck it up until you are able to improve your system and connection. If you'd rather compromise security and your data so you can get an extra few fps or ms off your ping time, frankly you're making a foolish mistake. All it takes is for the game server to be compromised, or potentially even for a decent packet sniffer in the hands of an experienced hacker, and your system could be in serious trouble. These scenarios are not as unlikely as you might expect. Know your system, know it's limits, and don't push it so hard that you have to disable your security to play. It's not worth it.
  7. Yes, it's ok/, just so no one asks me for the files them selves or kinks, just make sure you supply your e-mail so I can forward the request. My in box here in the PM gets flooded to quickly with redundant requests because there are not e-mails in them. too much work. include you e-mail with your request and that's it. I then forward the request to the author. I won't have to constantly respond to PM's if done this way but just once. I'll be clear here. what you get is completely up to the author, the last known files that once were up on the nexus are the requested items + I am guessing your going to get the WIP updated esp version 5.0 in return. No support from me here on them as I would not know what you get, understand? EDIT: one more thing here, Please do not post in My profile Just the messenger PM systems, I am deleting all Profile posts, why is simple, thats a open door and any one can see your e-mail address in that spot. Those that have done so and wonder why your post was not answered is I have approval set on. No profile posts please. Kitty. Yep - completely understand. I'm not expecting any support via the Nexus (or yourself - or anyone really) for these files, and I understand that I may not get the files that were last hosted on the Nexus. Thanks - I'll get you a PM.
  8. @Purr4me, Just so I'm clear - at this point is it still ok to PM you with email details and ask for them to be forwarded to the authors? I'd really like to get a copy of Fallout Remastered, but I only want to do so according to the author's wishes. I'd be grateful for any reply - feel free to PM me if you prefer. Many Thanks, SeraphTC
  9. Actually you can - just not using MTichenor's procedure. You have highlighted the weakness there - you need to create a new file every time. Using David Brasher's procedure you do not need to do this - just simply remember that you MUST esmify all esp dependencies before opening your mod in the construction set and you can patch in as many mods as you like. It works - I've been using it for a while now. My problem with it was that my deletions were not being saved against the other esp dependencies - what I didn't realise at the time is that this is expected and correct behaviour based on the way the game handles esp files vs esm files. In my case, I wanted to prevent certain items from being craftable, so I worked around it by adding in another global variable and using that in a default 'disabled' state to prevent the items from being available.
  10. Nice - thanks for the insight. It's great to see you guys addressing these issues, and I'm glad things are improving behind the scenes so that us users can see some of the benefits. Good stuff all round :)
  11. No idea, sorry. I think it's standalone, but I'll have to refer you to my friend Monsieur Google. :)
  12. I think it's the original, but Warband is also on sale for £7.49 (-50%)
  13. As I posted on your other thread where your asked the same question: The Nvidia board is much better. It has 1GB VRAM dedicated to graphics. As has been said on here already, Integrated boards (like the intel) are not good for gaming. They share the system memory and offer MUCH worse performance - some games will simply refuse to run on an integrated graphics chipset. You should absolutely pick the Nvidia board here if you want to play games.
  14. RAM does effect gaming, absolutely, but Textures - especially on newer games - WILL affect performance. Newer titles use higher detail textures, which are larger in size and require a lot more Video RAM (not system RAM). The Nvidia board is much better. It has 1GB VRAM dedicated to graphics. As has been said on here already, Integrated boards (like the intel) are not good for gaming. They share the system memory and offer MUCH worse performance - some games will simply refuse to run on an integrated graphics chipset. 16. The quest is http://skyrim.nexusm...com/mods/15680/ and it was the Archive.exe. I haven't worked on it in months and since then the 1.6 patch added some other problems so I'm taking a break from it for now. I'm in the middle of another project right now and I want to finish it first. http://newvegas.nexu...m/images/35537/ Thanks for offering, if you have the time i would appreciate the feedback. Hi DizzasterJuice, Just wanted to give you some feedback. Unfortunately, I only have version of Skyrim, which is patched up to date. As a result, it's difficult to figure out whether any issues are a result of incompatibilities with the mod and the current version of the game, or something else. If you get this mod working with the current version I'd be more than happy to give it another test and focus on the scripts for you. Regards, SeraphTC
  17. I've created another patch esp containing only the modified thalmor levelled lists, and loaded that *after* the bashed patch, and it seems to have resolved the problem. But is that really the best way of doing this?
  18. I've altered the levelled lists for the thalmor, so that instead of containing elven armour they contain an alternate set from a mod. I'm using bashed patch for levelled lists due to the number of mods in my game that affect levelled lists. Whenever the game spawns a thalmor, they are wearing the standard elven armour. If I kill them and loot, the elven armour is equipped (obviously) and the armour set that I *want* them to use is simply in their inventory. I'm assuming that the bashed patch is the problem here. What is the correct way to resolve this? I'd really appreciate any help, Thanks, SeraphTC
  19. Hmm....I hadn't considered that....I think I'd rather set up a variable than use a crazy number of a random item, but that's a good idea. Having said that, I'd still like to know the answer to the original question.
  20. Hi, I'm creating a patch for myself for some mods I use. I have them esmified (using Wrye Bash). What I want to do is remove some items from them using my patch - in this case, the mods adds some things to the world that also have crafting recipes. I want to leave the items in the world, but remove the ability to craft them. When editing entries in an esp file, if you delete the objects (in this case, crafting recipes) they will have *D added to their 'Count' column to mark them as deleted. Normally, when you save the esp, if you reload you will find that these entries no longer exist. However, when the original entries are in an esm, you still see them listed in the esp and marked as deleted. However, this does not seem to be removing them from the game, as the items are still available to craft. Does anyone know how this can be achieved without editing the original 'master' esp files? I'd really appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thanks, SeraphTC
  21. I think it should work, yeah. The ESP shouldn't care whether the files it's looking for are in the bsa or the folders - as long as the paths are correct. If you want me to test, point me at the mod and I'll happily give it a go tomorrow. What are you using to pack the BSA? The Archive.exe that comes with the CK, or something else?
  22. Ah I see - yeah that might work, but it would depend on you reading the book, then crafting something, then clicking the crafted item in your inventory......it's a bit messy. hmm....wouldn't really want a nonsense spell in the inventory, but an ability like the 'Ancient Knowledge' one might work....
  23. hehe - I tried that already. When the item is a book it will open to be read. Whilst it's open you can't remove it from the inventory using removeitem or disable()/delete(). As soon as you click the book in the inventory it calls onread prior to calling onequip. The only way that I can see to do it would be to either have an item that is *not* a book but uses the art for one (but then it won't appear in the correct inventory page), or to recreate part of the method for teaching spells. You'll notice that with a spell book you don't have the option to read it. You can pick it up, and you can click it in the inventory, but it never goes into the OnRead state (it doesn't 'open' on the screen). I had a thought about doing this, and I've inquired in a few places to see if it's possible, but I've not managed to get a straight answer yet :) I think it might be more hassle than it's worth at this point. The draconic text and a message box description is seemless and it works within the context of what I want the book to do. I'll probably just stick with it - it's nice and simple :)
  24. Ok - I'm making my life easy and blagging it. I've pasted an absolute load of meaningless gibberish into the book text, formatted it and changed the font to draconic. Now I don't have to worry about the book being read and needing to remove it :D Thanks for the suggestions :)
  25. All robes *don't* have the same armour value (although I think they should). Robes should have an armour value of 0, and the majority do. However, as I mentioned earlier, the basic novice mage robes (which it sounds like this follower has, but I'd need to check the CK to be sure) incorrectly have an armour value of 4, therefore they have a higher armour rating than the uber-robes you purchased. That is likely the source of the issue. If you pop open the CK and adjust the armour rating for the novice robes to 0, then save the changes to an esp and load it, you should solve the issue without needing something like UFO.
