  1. Letting the modding community determine what games to support is brave and bold, bravo sir! You and your team keep proving to me the value of my membership, I patiently await the day you are happy with The Nexus....is it at all possible...?
  2. In response to post #9708124. Gethesmain nailed it! You and your team rock! Good things ARE worth waiting for.
  3. Thanks for the update, the work you and your team do to keep a ton of people happy playing with free stuff done by others is simply amazing, and sooo much appreciated, thank you! Bring on the beta!!
  4. I've seen it mentioned here by a few, the idea of $1.00 per year to maintain supporter status is hardly a bank breaker for most and will better provide a steady income source to handle the site's needs. $1.00 as a one time fee is most charitable, but this isn't a charity. Bills need to be paid, equipment upgraded and employees paid. I'd be curious, how does your current add revenue work out per user? $0.50..? $0.75...? And, most importantly, that's not a one time receipt, it's annually, like your bills. Just something for you to ponder....
  5. A few times you've refered to your blogs as rambling and boring, they're not. It's nice to hear from the mind behind the Nexus. You and your staff are the heart of what most see only as a web site, I like knowing that it's got a strong and healthy pulse and that gamers are behind it. You are right, corporate interests wouldn't have the heart the Nexus does. I thank you for it.
  6. To all in the Nexus community, a very Happy New Year!
  7. I so rarely check the Steam Store, I thought I had all I wanted, funny how 33% off can change my definition of 'need'. Thanks for posting the info to the only site I visit daily!
  8. I've been enjoying the Nexus for about a year now, I find the community as a whole to be both friendly and helpful, 98% of us won't mind or even notice any of this, but we'll be happy to know it's present. Good luck with the remaining 2%!
  9. Many thanks to you and your team, we can be quick to b&@*$ and slow to praise, but then... 1.2 mil users! We're all here for many good reasons and you'll have to take the blame for them too!! :)
  10. I've got somewhere between 20 to 30 hs in with Ceri and have to applaud what a wonderful job you have done with her AI develoment. I have been using her with Extensible Follower Framework and have noted no problems (I'm actually a convert from UFO). I am also a fan of the Companion Vilja mod from Oblivion. Given all this.....my 2 cents; purely in the spirit of giving you something to chew on, if you were to stop development of Ceri today I'd be still using her 6 months from now and probably beyond. I guess that's my first statement. I believe you've matched the utliity of the Companion Vilja mod, if I may use it as a bench mark. What I found charming about the Companion Vilja mod was her personality; Emma did an awesome job of fleshing her out. I felt it was a combination of her back story (with the mini-quests) and the comments that came out of her that 'showed' she was aware of the current quest or location she was in. The other plus, was that her voice was unique. That helped a lot and went a long way to saying that 'this follower is different'. I've noted that after a play through or two a lot of Skyrim players start upping the difficultlty of thier games through mods like ASIS, ACE, SKYre and others. So, companions become more important, even multiple companions. Everyone is seeming to use the same two or three voice types (female), if you want to make her more unique/identifiable a Ceri - voice would go a long way. I don't for a moment claim to know anything about just how difficult and time consuming it is to put together a companion as advanced as Ceri let alone adding a back story and voicing.....just a fan wishing out loud.... Thanks again for a wonderful mod!
  11. I'm firmly in the pro-SKSE camp as well, updates are prompt and once you've updated a couple of times the intimidation factor is zero and it brings so much more to the table.
  12. I have to agree, since applying the command last week I have had no issues with purple textures or CTD's since and many of my gaming sessions have gone well past 2hs which just didn't happen before. Thanks for the link.
  13. I gave that command you posted a try and managed a 2 hr game with no purple textures or crashes. I'd like to see that happen a couple of times to be more confidant. Thanks for the reference. I hope to get in a few more hours over the weekend. If I have no further issues I'll post here Sunday night/Monday morning. Thanks for your help so far...
  14. So this is where I am..... I did read somewhere that there is a Steam auto synch that occurs so that you can play Skyrim on multiple computers/locations. This can be disabled within Steam >Settings > Downloads and Cloud - disable the Steam Cloud synch. It is rumoured to have caused CTD's. I disabled it and was able to CTD anyway! As I mentioned I've done a clean reload and have re-installed all my mods. I then spent 45 min running from building to building and through every door I could to force as many 'loads' as I could. I would think that 45 min of this far exceeds 2-3hs of normal gaming loads. I was able to recreate the purple missing textures and after a dozen more cell loads (after the first purple appearance) I CTD'd. I'm going to try this again later tonight and if I can again go through that many cell loads before crashing I'll have to be happy with this, for now. I don't know if this is our problem or perhaps something from the 1.5 patch. I have seen lot's of issues on this patch - I'm planning on doing some more reading on it. I hope you get better results.
  15. I got a little radical and uninstalled everything including Skyrim. I have re-installed all my mods, 31 of them, except for anything modifying followers. I've played for about an hour and have had no issues. I think it's premature to suggest a follower mod right now, I want to get in more hours in this configuration, but I'm content to follow the smoke for now... I was using: Followers can relax v 6 Horses for followers ( + bug fix) v 1.4 Ultimate Follower Overhaul v 1.0d I have been glancing (only) through the comments for the above mods and I see no pattern of CTD complaints, at least similar to our experience, if any.....???
  16. Don't know if FXAA would be the source of the problem, now I am assuming that we are both experiencing the same issue for the same reason. Big assumption. Recently, within the last few days my rate of CTD has increased, only used to CTD after 2-3 hours (I have an old machine). Now I'm seeing it in 15 min or less and yes the occaissional purple texture pops up, as the frequency of purple textures appears the closer I am to crashing it seems. I don't have FXAA and never have had it installed. Within the last week I have installed the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, did upgrades to Better Horses, Horses for followers (and bug fix), Followers can relax and the Ultimate Follower Overhaul. I'm not blaming any of these mods but something may have go corrupted by me in doing the upgrades, just wondering if any of this/these match anything you have running? Any coincidences here....?
