  1. It's confirmed that it won't be included. Sorry guys, I was disappointed as well.
  2. Good, I'm not the only vulgar one here.
  3. Just because I install a mod that allows me to kill children doesn't mean I'm going to run around with the sole objective of killing children. "It's not okay to kill people. It's not okay to kill children. It's okay to kill pretend people. It's not okay to kill pretend children." I'm sure Bethesda would have included their deaths, if they were 100% sure they wouldn't be labeled as children killers. Which they would. But as soon as I mod will be released, I bet there will be media coverage of it. I can see it now: "The popular Elder Scrolls game allows players to kill children, herp herp derp derp herp." Non-gamers just wouldn't understand that it doesn't mean we want to kill children.
  4. Deep Silver said that Dead Island's HUD could be completely customized, and man I was thoroughly disappointed with that. I turned off the Zombie's HP Bar, but I'm still left with my own HP Bar, a Stamina Bar, and a Radar / Compass. The game's good, but they were very loose with the definition of customize. I know Bethesda's HUD customization will be much better, but I really enjoy judging things for myself, rather than having a computer judge my status for me (ie, how much damage I've taken, how much magika I have left, are examples of what I like to judge for myself). I'm also limiting myself to the physical map included with the game and NPC directions rather than using the 3D built in map. There's nothing like discovering and learning things for yourself, which is a huge draw to Bethesda games for me.
  5. I was so disappointed when Bethesda announced they would not be including a Hardcore Mode. That would increased my play time by at least 100 hours.
  6. That's why I was hoping that Skyrim would have a hardcore option, so I would need to hunt my own food. I guess I'll have to pretend that I need to do that. Or someone could make a hardcore mode mod.
  7. It is officially M, but only 15 in the UK. Weird. Not that it matters to me, I'm in America, just thought it was strange that it would get a lower age rating in the UK. This is pretty interesting too: Oblivion: Blood and Gore, Violence, Language, Sexual Themes, Use of Alcohol Skyrim: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Use of Alcohol I guess that Oblivion had more "bad" words than Skyrim will. And here's why the ESRB gave it an M: Rating summary: This is a fantasy role-playing game in which players assume the role of Dovakin, a prophesied figure with the power to combat dragons in the fictional world of Skyrim. As players traverse through mountainous open-world environments, they complete missions and quests that impact the eventual fate of their character. Players use swords, bows and arrows, axes, and magic attacks (e.g., fireballs, ice shards) to kill various enemies (e.g., wolves, dragons, human bandits and soldiers). As players engage in melee-style combat, some sequences are highlighted by slow-motion effects, particularly for decapitations. Large blood-splatter effects also occur during combat, and some environments are stained with blood or body parts (e.g., heads impaled on spikes). Some sequences allow players to injure/kill nonadversary characters, including prisoners chained to a wall; they scream in pain amid splashes of blood or fire. As the game progresses, the dialogue and on-screen text contains references to sexual material (e.g., “. . . all the whores your heart, or any other organ, desires,” “She . . . raped the men as cruelly as Bal had ravished her,” and “Remember when you thought [he] was . . . intent on making you . . . into his personal sex slave?”). Alcohol such as wine, mead, and ale can be purchased and consumed by players' character throughout the game; and in one sequence, players can engage in a drinking contest with another character, which eventually results in slurred speech (e.g., “One more. No problemsh . . . Thash grape!”).
  8. Honestly I'm confused. I haven't received this issue yet, and the whole reason why I bought a year subscription was because of all the games coming out this fall. Where the hell is my magazine?! This looks like the best one yet! On a side note, if I ever do get it I'll be sure to scan them in.
  9. I didn't know that they were going to show this off.. is this bootlegged?
  10. Coming from a guy who almost always plays as a Nord, yes I am delighted that this installment of the Elder Scrolls is taking place in Skyrim.
  11. I know where you're coming from. For example, when I was playing GTA IV, I was abiding by traffic laws, and just trying to be an overall good citizen of Liberty City. But one day, I was driving and some guy just would not stop honking at me. I got out of my car and shot him in the face. Of course there was a police officer like right there, and I got an adrenaline rush. I ran to my car and drove. That was the day I became Niko Bellic, killing extraordinaire. I don't really have a point, but I've been in your situation before.
  12. Hahahaha thanks for posting this! I saw it awhile ago, but it was even funnier to see it again. The first minute or so is the best though.
  13. I thought I heard it too! I was like oh my god! That dragon is using shouts!
  14. When I played the Xbox version of Oblivion, I must of had 100+ saves at one point. Every couple weeks or so I would spend ten minutes deleting them all. The worst thing that ever happened to me in Oblivion was when I completed a huge mission, and then found all the crap I was storing at Cloud Ruler Temple had disapeared. Thus began the tedious task of loading an older save (that's why I do it) buying a house, moving all my crap there (four trips), and then redoing the mission. Ugh.
  15. I mainly play on Xbox but that doesn't mean I won't be getting the PC version as well. The console versions are always smoother than my PC, but the PC version is always better, especially with how easy it is to mod and how much modding adds to the game. I'll probably get Skyrim for my PC in the summer of 2012, when my schedule is work sleep work sleep. Then it'll be work Skyrim work Skyrim. PS: You know you're excited for a game when autocorrect on your iPhone automatically capitalizes Skyrim for you.
  16. Hahaha, that was funny. Too bad he is DEAD at this point. I mean if you're into smacking corpses..
  17. Werewolf all the way. I hate how quiet Bethesda is being about this. I just want them to say no if it's not in the game. But please, if it is in the game, keep being mysterious! :D
  18. Full on Magician. I'm going to try it anyway and see how it goes. The best thing about this game is that there are endless angles to tackle something, you can go for almost any type of class you can conjure up. I was thinking about what I would play as for literally months, going for mainly an Assassin, a Warrior, or a Mage, or any combination of those. The reason I ended up choosing Mage is because I never really took advantage of the magic system in Oblivion. Mainly because it was so weak to start with. I feel like if I focus on tackling a Magica based character I can do it. Additionally, the magic system in this game looks so much better than Oblivion's, so I'll see how it goes. If it doesn't work out, I can always start up a new game and go for the classic Nordic Warrior I've always played as, with Restoration as my only magic. But hey, two months, I could change my mind, but right now, this sounds boss.
  19. when i read the title i was like http://cafef1.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/surprise-e1314936577129.jpeg but then i read the description and was like http://www.mikesbaby.com/images/year3/smirk.jpg
  20. So it looks like it's still going to rain under things. I was watching the Skyrim Demo and he went inside the tower while it was raining (fighting with the Frost Dragon), and it was raining under the roof inside the tower. It may just be me, but if they have dynamic weather they should at least should have made it so rain doesn't go through objects. http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/4863/skyrimrain.png
  21. I'm kind of sick of people saying this to be honest. And for two reasons, one technical, and one logical. 1. If your friend were suddenly shot down, your telling me that you would go straight to fighting? You wouldn't spend three seconds looking down at his lifeless body before realizing you were under attack and begin to fight back? I would anyway, seems like a believable behavior to me. 2. If you look at his skills in the video when he flies through them all, his Sneak skill is at level 100. So what I'm saying here is, you can't judge the AI's reaction until you see how he would've reacted against a player with a lower sneak level. I'm not saying it's not a little strange, but in my opinion it's believable based on those two reasons.
  22. I didn't waste my money. As far as I'm concerned, this is the best Collector's Edition ever to hit shelves, and I'm glad I went ahead and ordered one. I can see how it might not be worth it to some people, but the items included excite me just as much as the game does. The concept art book is one of the things I'm most excited to see, as I love concept art. The making of DVD is just as sick, I've always found those kind of things cool to watch, because you see the game from initial development and how far it came along. And the statue is so high quality that I just had to have it. It's only "wasting money" if you don't deem it worthy of your dollars; which is a perspective thing.
  23. You seem to be off by a few days. Everyone knows National Spumoni Day is August 21.
