  1. So I've been modding for awhile, and this is the first time I've actually tried making a custom armor piece from scratch. I'm having issues with my Custom Hat not applying to the character's head. The esp is fine and the equip in the ck is what it should be, and is correct on my ref in outfit studio. .However when a character equips my hat, it for some reason, is on the ground and travels with the wearer. Yet the head part changes as if they're wearing a hat. Any ideas how to fix?
  2. Don't know if you ever found an answer somewhere else. . But Using Unique Player and Unique Followers should help, it allows you to manually place whichever body nifs you want in the folders for basehumanfemale/basehumanmale as well as your followers and playercharactermale/playercharacterfemale . . . Not sure if AB and CBBE are compatible as far as esps go. . hope that helps
  3. So like the title says, I'm getting a crap ton of ctds from this. Mid game, at various times (10-30-120 mins) my game will crash, and there is no error but I know it has something to do with the plugins.txt bc I constantly have to change it back from read only to normal. As soon as I do that, I can relaunch and play. I use loot, and have carefully crafted my load order and made sure all my mods are compatible. Running on a high end pc, I know its not my hardware. I just need help figuring out a cause and how to stop the plugins.txt from changing on me. Any help with fixing this would be EXTREMELY APPRECIATED!
  4. Not in and of itself, but once racemenu is fully ported there are mods that use it as a sort of framework and allow you to edit npcs. Like the mimic plugin for racemenu, it makes the player take on the appearance of that npc and then you can sculpt and export and then use the ck to replace the npc. That's pretty much the closest method for skyrim. The way Bethesda made the vanilla menu, it would require hundreds of hours of scripting just to get a mod that resembles Fallouty 4's Looksmenu functionality. Taking factors like game engine and limitations of the script extender itself, which are huge hurdles themselves, it can be done but it would take a considerable amount of time and effort and possibly a team of really experienced veteran modders. Which is a lot of time and effort, considering there's not much payout (if any) or any support from Bethesda on the matter. Sorry for the long reply lol
  5. Ah! Cool! Yeah just what I was looking for! Thanks! Alternatively I realized the CK was removing my masters. Found a fix using wyre bash making the CK recognize my hair mod as a master temporarily. Forum post here But standalone is great! Provides me a better knowledge base! Thank you!! :) :)
  6. That definitely helped. I was able to export the facegen through the ck. Facial morphs are correct. But for some reason my npc replacer still generates with vanilla hair. . I have the hair mod set as master and load it in the ck and check the facegen in nifskope, everything seems to be in order. . The game just isn't loading the hair. .
  7. So as of late I've been tinkering with the ck, trying to edit npcs. . . adding hairs from apachii or KS, changing tints and slider values and whatnot. In the ck everything looks fine, so I save and check my mod in game. . And the result is blah vanilla hair, no shape changes, and black face. . Disable/Enable/setnpcweight doesnt do anything but fix the face color. . So I did some more research into my files, everything in "\Data\meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\<nameofmodfile>.esp\" and "\Skyrim\Data\Textures\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceTint\<nameofmodfile>.esp\" is correct. I tried exporting the facegen data again, (for some reason ctrl+f4 didn't bring up any window like I'm used to) and checked files again, still good, load game, same buggy result. I'm kinda lost at this point and could use some help. Am I missing something? Is there a fix for this?
  8. It's great for 32 bit skyrim, but using it on sse textures is said to cause instability and quality issues. There was a sse version but it got taken down bc it was so broken.
  9. So this is a really in depth question. First, What is the best format to use wih SSE textures? What tools can be used/downloaded for free to achieve this? Is there a tool that compresses and/or formats the texture to said optimal format? I read on a link- https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/5h6c0p/texture_compression_and_you_skyrim_se_edition/ -that BC7 is the best format for normal maps, but I'm really looking for a way to do this in bulk, for all textures (not just normals), and for free. As well as compression tool like Ordenator textures for 32bit Skyrim https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12801/ So far I've been unable to find anything useful.
  10. ECE for SSE is gross potato
  11. So I'm getting this really messed up glitch with the nude erect male body from better males remesh, I have xpmsse installed and fnis. . iv'e tried replacing the malebody_0 & malebody_1, as well as the male skeleton, several times. . I've uninstalled all my animation mods except for flower girls se x. . I have no clue what's causing it and would hate to start fresh once again :( . . . any help would be appreciated. . and here's a screenshot of the glitch
  12. Really interested in creatng a custom voiced follower, whether with a voice actor or preferably with snip its from existing FO4 assets. . Either way, Does anyone know of a link to a forum, a tutorial video, or is willing to walk me through the process?
  13. So I've created some presets with looksmenu and uploaded them. I'm getting lots of requests for NPC Replacer mods using my presets. But I have no real expierience with CK, FaceRipper, or Fo4 Edit . . . Is there tutorials on youtube someone could point me to? or would someone be willing to teach me? I'm really interested to get deeper into modding, but I know I have a lot to learn. If you can please help. . .
  14. Ok yeah, I'm not sure either. weird thing im noticing, I run fullscreen borderless window and every so often during gameplay(after reinstalling modded .dll), for a split second, a blank window pops up and closes. . its frustrating and making me feel like it actually is a virus. . bad thing about seventhson is that it infects other programs and can potentially infect virus protection as well, causing it to ignore threats and etc. . .
  15. So today my norton got rid of my modded .dll and called it a seventhson virus. . i have no clue wtf to do. . do i restore it? do i go back to vanilla MEA? Has anyone else had this issue? or is it just a Norton f**k up?
  16. So are those tools (usually) supposed to be released by a developer? Or does that mean an individual would have to engineer tools from the ground up?
  17. So i'm not trying to be a jerk,(SO PLEASE NO MEAN OR TROLLING COMMENTS, PLEASE) I'm just wondering if there's a specific reason modders haven't done much besides posting presets, cheat mods, and lighting mods? I'm not experienced in actually creating a mod, but i would've figured someone would've came out with something like outfits, weapons, character creation overhauls, add hairs, add races. . .like something besides the very limited amount we have on the nexus. . Am I among the few who really enjoy this game and hoped the modding community would step in and offer fixes to Bioware's mistakes/ add to it and make it better? Because everything on the nexus, while some interesting files, is lacking in many areas. . and tbh imop a big area that I was sure modders would've said "OH HELL NO!" is some of the graphics, textures, animations, and character models. . Trust me, I'm not impatient, I just can't find anything anywhere saying anyone is working on anything remotely cool for MEA. . If anyone knows anything; like patch info leaks, or heard wind of nice/cool/aesthetic mods in the works, pretty please put me in the loop :-)
