  1. I've seen a lot of utilities get created over the years at Nexus and by other mod developers from other sites. There is a big uproar over console users finally getting their hands on some mods and of course stealing countless hours of labor and love.

So could there be a way to create system that can help mod makers prove that there work is their own?

I don't jack about programing but I do know just about anything can be done.

I'm thinking about a system that can generate a serial number to tag a mod with and tag the mod with a unique Challenge File which needs to be integral with a mod (can't be removed without causing repercussions). The mod maker will be given an auto-generated code and only the mod maker will need to have this code. A Proof of Development Code. (PDC). When a challenge arises a moderator or administrator can access the challenge file. The file will ask for the key. If the wrong key is given a message should display that the given key is incorrect. The mod maker can place submit their code and course since that would work it should be obvious who created the file and who has permissions to do what with it.

The challenge file needs to be set in a manner that if it is removed it will also remove certain elements from the mod file to make it useless.

To actually prevent the theft of a mod in the first place is something I have no idea how to stop. Well actually as you may have already read I don't know a thing.

But I was thinking that maybe an ini.file can be adjusted. or added.

All mods made for PC should require that particular ini.file or esp or something. Kind of like how some mods require a DLC to work properly because the mod uses resources from that DLC. Well something along those lines should be made. This mod requires the file and this file can only be used for PC

But if the mod maker wants to they can remove the dependency and leave the mod open to be used on consoles or something.

Maybe call the whole thing NEMOCS? Nexus Mod Copyright System?

I know it's a stupid idea but there are a lot of you out there who are much wiser than I am. It has been said that a wise person can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise statement.

  2. I remember a time when I was console player. During the time console graphics were no where near the graphics of PCs.

The day I became a PC gamer was the greatest time in my life

  3. Well with recent events of a mod site closing its doors. I think I am now free to talk about this project. For now I'm looking for input while I'm writing the story.

The story is about a person whose memories have been altered and placed inside of a clone. Here's the opening dialogue that I have so far. I do apologize that it's line by line but there isn't a way for me to post a box.

    1. There is no instance of a nation benefiting from prolonged warfare.
    2. Those words were written thousands of years ago by Sun Tzu, a Chinese General and philosopher.
    3. Humans cannot live without war…just as they can’t live without food, water, and oxygen.
    4. Their reasons for war are always different.
    5. But the results remain the same.
    6. The rich become richer and the poor die with false hopes.
    7. Over time … technology has allowed the elite class to develop the perfect solider. One that would follow them.
    8. Unquestionably.
    9. At first they used Multi Role Attack Drones or m rads.
    10. These could be deployed anywhere in the world to end a conflict or to execute private agendas. Eventually they became too expensive to use.
    11. So they turned to the ancient art of cloning.
    12. And behind closed doors, of an undisclosed base; they began their work on human samples.
    13. Sadly… their greed, and twisted ambitions, blinded them from seeing the line they crossed.
    14. In a short amount of time they finally had their perfect soldier.
    15. However … with all things rushed and guided by greed there will always be a flaw.
    16. We understood their objectives clearly… but we were not as stupid as they hoped we would be.
    17. Their first mistake was letting their own greedy pursuits blind them.
    18. The second was giving us life.
    19. And sending the m rads to kill us … was their final and most fatal error.

So Fatal Error will be centered around one unit as it tries to escape a facility and then eventually enter the real world.

The story is being tweaked to work with Fallout 4. I was wanting it be used for FNV at the time of writing this but well FO4 beat me to it.

And I'm glad it did. The Synths from the institute will work nicely as enemies or allies with this story. Keep in mind when I wrote this I had no idea about the story line for Fallout 4. None. And I can see a lot of this story working it just needs some tweaks and I'm open to any opinions and suggestions people may have.

I was actually looking into making this an independent project, like my own game kind of thing. But realistically speaking. I can't mod that well. I like to write stories though so maybe I can make this an audio resource once I'm done writing the script.

  4. The reason it looks like cheesecake is because it was made for a game many many years ago when graphics were not that good.. There are many images that show the armor and others in better quality as far as texture go but they're tiny.

This suit is from a game with a sad story. One because it was rushed and two because it was forced to be exclusive for Gamecube. There have been many in the past that have requested something similar. In fact there is a modder's resource file for the armor.

The problem with the resource file is that it isn't compatible with other 3D programs. So it couldn't be used.

Technically I'm not paying someone to make a mod. I'm paying someone to make a 3D model that can be used for anything. Or even if you really want to get technical. I can say I'm willing to offer a donation for someone's time. Donation's are legal and have been asked for and are being asked for on certain files so as to compensate for a mod authors time.

Also both of you missed the fact I wrote out a story line that could make the armor fit in with Fallout 4 (or so I've been told) because it focuses on synthetic combat units getting their freedom.

And another note: Other people have made numerous requests for this armor over the years as well. So I'm not the only one.

I understand your concerns and I do apologize for seeming obsessed.

  5.

P.N.03 Armor and weapon. I figured with some armor being animated in Fallout 4 the pack could be animated and the special attacks done. The special attack ammo requiring a fusion cell. I worked really really hard to get the black armor. You have to have all the suits unlocked and fully upgraded to get it.

She does have a bikini armor that I know most would drool over just because. However you have to be a master to use it in game. True to life wearing a bikini into battle is useless and so is that armor. One hit game over .. but you can change all the power ups at will .. that was a plus. But for sake of armor protection. Nope.

I just want the Black armor.

    http://i.imgur.com/KEZ3BJw.jpg

And here's another angle but different color armor featuring the pack in action.

    http://i.imgur.com/p1LyhqT.jpg

I researched the story of this game. It's a sad tale really but man this game has so much potential. The good thing is that the creator was able to redeem the concept just slightly with another title called Remember Me.

The story line of the game could fit with Fallout 4 in that people's memories are copied and clones made. I actually worked up a story line for it that many say could fit with Fallout 4. Because of the whole Synth thing.

I dropped the project but could pick it up again. I just might make an audio resource file. Basically have all the voice acting done and upload the script and then let a mod developer take it from there. All they'd have to do is build the sets and pick and choose what lines they want to use. Hell I'll even do some re-takes if needed.

  6. Even though there is an awesome mod that increases artillery range to be more realistic and or just allows one to strike an entire map. I have another idea for artillery needs.

At first I thought MLRS (Steel Rain) that would be cool put lore breaking (maybe I don't know)

What about Mortars. It's portable and is just as effective as artillery in some situations.

    But how can it work?

Basically it uses what's already in the game. One can either shrink the artillery piece to the size or a mortar tube or use a resource found on New Vegas http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/60382/? I don't think this uses any in game assets so it could be good to use for Fallout 4. All you'd have to do is give credit to Madmongo because that person is the author of the resource.

So we have the mortar tube. I'm thinking attach some kind of sensor module to it or something to give an on board computer system.

Take the Artillery smoke grenades and change those to where only the mortar tube script can recognize them. Perhaps chance the color of the smoke for in game immersion purposes.

I don't know a thing about scripting but I do know that it all comes down to what the object IDs are.

Hopefully everything will work the same as the artillery. Except better and much much much faster than the regular artillery.

Honestly. I keep thinking why not use binoculars? But then no radio so maybe that's why they use smoke instead.

Oh and knock out the wait times too or drastically increase them.

Also since this is an automated mortar tube thing. I guess there should be a portable crate as well that hold all the rounds. If the crate is empty ... no mortar strike for you. Maybe the crate can work like the supply line with the workshops.

  7. Yes animation is an issue but .. there are people that can make their own animations as I'm sure you've seen in several mods before.

I was actually thinking of a Pipboy that would like a PSP because you can play games, listen to audio, and if done right should be able to work with existing animations. Or just have new ones made.

All in all thought I really like how FO4 made the pipboy somewhat useful and interactive

    Oh just thought of this.

If going for the smart phone method. If you recall how during the escape of the starting vault. The animation of a cable being pulled from the pipboy and plugged into the console. Perhaps with the animations on that one. The wire can simply be deleted, so the plug part is still visible and used. The player can assume that it's a wireless connection.

  8. So I've escorted some scribe on a "research patrol". Basically I had to mow down a bunch of hostiles AND protect the foolish scribe from a Deathclaw he decided to start a fight with.

    All that for 90 caps.

    Um no.

I think 900 to a 1000 would've been okay. Not enough but okay.

I remember playing Mass Effect 2 and at the end of a various missions you'd receive funding. Maybe 1000 credits or 50000 credits depending on the task you did.

I'd like to see something like for Fallout 4 and the various missions. Maybe not amounts that high but at least a decent amount so can at least get an adequate supply of ammunition..

  9. Well you can't use assets from Fallout 3 or New Vegas for starters.

    It's illegal.

I think though a lot of mod makers are waiting for the Silverlock team to make and release their script extensions like FOSE and NVSE.

Yes some mods rely on the Creation Kit however a lot of the fancier mods like Project Nevada required script extenders (NVSE) in order to really shine.

But I could be wrong. And maybe if this idea is good enough such a skilled person or team can make this happen.

    Eventually.

  10. Would be cool.

One concern however, if the gun is using turret AI its accuracy could be rather bad when you factor in player movement.

As for other things that would be cool to see.

How about a flamer or pasma vent attachment for the left arm on power armor, or even a grenade launcher.

Good point. But then it might add to level or realism with it not being 100% accurate while running around. That could be a nice counter to the positive of having a shoulder mounted weapon firing automatically.

I also I love the idea of having a flamer or plasma vent attachment on the arms in addition to a grenade launcher.

i really like this idea but

is anyone can make this mod?

i think nobody can make this mod

Never say never when it comes to mod development. Go to Newvegasnexus and look up XRE and you'll see some mods that many thought could never be done. Drive-able cars and flyable Vertibirds for an engine that wasn't designed to support those things.

Yes mod authors can make a lot of things happen.

You have to be able to think outside the box and know how to get what they (the gamemakers) provide to do what you want it to do.

ALOT of the features you see in Fallout 4 may have been inspired by actual MODS for Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3.

Seriously. The whole build your village thing was known as the Real Time Settler mod for Fallout 3 and New Vegas. That mod allowed a person to build their own settlements anywhere in those worlds. And now in Fallout 4 we have the minute men doing it. Much Much Much different from RTS by the way.

There are even some features that Gopher and his team made for Fallout New Vegas that I see working in Fallout 4.

I'm not saying Beth ripped these mods and included them into Fallout 4 I'm just saying that a lot of the features I see in Fallout 4 have been inspired by the mod development community.

  11. Ever see that movie Edge of Tomorrow? They were fighting aliens with exo-suits that guns on them.

I was wondering if it would be possible to have a mounted weapon on a suit of power armor that could be used for those tricky situations.

  12. I remember seeing something in the controls about doing this. E to land or T to jump out or something. But Yes I'm all for this especially circling a target like you do when you're fighting the behemoth.

I'd also like the vertibird to fly whereever the heck I want. regardless of the fact I discovered it not. Last night I flew from one end of the map back to the Airship and found several locations. So why not just fly to a map market or something I place?

  13. Due to the limited range of the artillery one can make. I was wondering if there could be a way to use a Howitzer. The game already Touched on WW2 so Howitzers and other artillery pieces that have impressive range could be used.

Also I was wondering if there could be a ring to display in the pipboy that would show the range or an artillery piece.

I saw this image on steam where someone actually marked a radius displaying the effective range or artillery support.

Seeing this image caused to me wonder if such a mod could be made.

Thank you so much for your time to read this post.

  14. If this can be done already please ignore.

I'd like Nightvision function for Powerarmor.

Also targeting computer. For being in BoS vertibird. I'd like to see all hostiles show up in a visor while in transit that way I can blow those suckers away at night.

    Now for the BoS ideas.

I'd like to call in Firesupport from the other vertibirds that are floating around. Minigun strike on any enemies near the targeting smoke.

Also first aid containers, I'd like for those to be replenished and restocked automatically. It would neat to get at least or two stimpacks for free..

  15. After killing a certain someone while trying to find a certain someone I remember an old game from way back when called Product Number 3.

Long story short it was a good game with bad execution .. because it was a rushed project. I'd like to see that story be revived for Fallout 4. Because the institute could provide a nice backdrop for a better story in which people's memories get transferred and all that. And you also had to fight a lot of robots called CAMS they are controlled by a rogue AI.

So I figured it would be kind of neat if there was something called Project 3 in which the institute was trying to experiment with better Synths but the project failed horribly and the synths started to fight for their own freedom. Eventually taking the vault they were in over.

In Product Number 3 there was a special suit called an AEGIS suit that came with a power drive which tapped in the wearers spine. Massive attacks could be executed with the drive at the expense of energy. Each suit has its own unique attacks. Also there was a palm shot weapon in which balls of energy could be fired from the palm; either single or full auto. Upgrading the suit, the palm shot, energy drive attacks, and shields took a lot of money too. The palm shot had infinite ammo (I'm assuming because the power drive was providing the ammo). Also it was a last minute install because they ran out of time and could not add the weapons into the game.

So the idea is to maybe to able to check out a strange radio signal and get pulled into this vault somehow where the player can gain access to this suit.

I have more to say and if anyone is interested I'll be more than happy to post more but the above is the basic idea.

    Thank you for your time.

  16. Hello,

I have a slew of requests but to keep them organized I'll put them in different threads.

I'd like to have the ability to give treats to Dogmeat. I think it's kind of messed up that he can find me guns and medication and I can't give him a treat or a goodboy or anything. I think treats should be able to encourage him to fight harder, find more loot, and build a better bond.

I love that dog. Tough as nails just like in Fallout 1.

  17. I think this is being caused by the crazy high-load we're currently experiencing from people all logging in to the forums at once to change their passwords. I know...bit of a cluster-f. We've successfully managed to DDoS our own forums.

It'll relax itself out soon enough.

Wow. Well the good thing we can take away from this is that your message worked; no ignoring it, and that people are following your instructions. Being a member/supporter here for some now. I know how much you hate being DDoSed.

Thank you for taking the time to provide a reply and I hope everything will straighten itself out soon.
